For the newer players: Frugal was a special format, S100 with the Heirloom price cap.
But what the hell was Frenzy!?
I have been series organizer since the start, but at time mostly LeilaPari hosted.
Darn you WotC, for wiping our old forums.
Back when we had 40 minute clocks, "Frenzy" was "fast" 100CS with 25 minute clocks.
I spoke with longtimegone and he assured me that the automatic update for cards on Gatherling should be in place by the time the next set comes out. Let's hope he's right.
Shadows of Innistrad has been released in paper. I vote for April 16th's event (#27), we allow for commenting in Oath of the Gatewatch.
I suggest the first infraction of putting in a placeholder but not explaining it in the comments to be a warning.
Second infraction: forfeiting half of your prize.
I have found a new appartment, and will move 19th. Seaandrhythm will host on the 23rd. If I'm not online again on the 30th, he will host , too. We will postpone the special event for about a month to celebrate the birthday of the Great Chairman again
Just a little more patience. Beside the old reasons, I don't expect from a replacement host to deal with the commenting in or to execute punishments. I'm satisfied, when the event starts on time and runs smoothly, while I'm offline. I hope until I'm back (30.4 or 7.5), the Oath card set will be uploaded in Gatherling anyway, meanwhile. If not, we will definitely allow commenting in, then. OK?

The long awaited change:
Chainsaw Massacre S100 will be from now on Chainsaw Massacre S102!
Since 3 days I have been trying to cut down my new deck to 100 cards, the best I can do is 102:-)
Hi, I'm already online again! I had to make a new contract with another cable company, because the houses(or streets) are exclusively divided between them in Germany. However, the new company was much faster with sending a technician and installing a new cable access, therefore I will be able to host again this Saturday.
We are still playing the S100 format like it was before WotC removed the filter from MTGO! I changed the starting post accordingly at severeal places. This is no new rule! It just had not been written down explicitly before. This was clear for all veterans that were playing S100 here before. They know that I do not change rules or the format itself lightheartedly and that such a change would have had at least a poll in the community before changing and of course would had been announced in starting post.
6 months ago, I philiosophied about our responsibility as S100 community to keep this great format alive, and that we must spread the rules, because in a few years nobody will know it anymore, if we don't. Though, I didn't expect it happen that early: After sideboarding a player had 101 cards in deck, and claimed that it was legal to have even up to 115 cards in deck after sideboarding. Which of course is not true and all players that played with the old version before, knew it, because the game would NOT start if you click 'submit' after sideboarding and had more than 100 cards in deck! However, a newer player without that experience could imagine that S100 is like any other format, which of course is not true in so many aspects, which is why I love it so much
Although the name S100 gives a hint about deck size:-).
However, I explicitely added this rule to starting post.

To be fair, it's easy to get overzealous adding in sideboard cards and not remove enough maindeck cards. I've done that unintentionally both in Modern and Limited.
As I wrote before: He intentionally had 101 cards in deck! He thought that was legal, at least he said. I don't know if that was a lie to protect himself from being accused to cheat, but I rather guess no and in dubio pro reo. However, I must admit that for me( and I guess all veterans) it was clear, nothing changed, we play the same format as before, but if a new player joins now our event and community, he just could not know for sure if he was allowed to have more cards in deck after sideboarding, because MTGO, respectively the now missing S100 filter, won't prevent him from doing it. So, it was important to add this to the starting post.
Sometimes, I'm in great hurry to remove a card or more to finish sideboarding in time, and therefore make sub-optimal decisions. Finishing SB in time, was always highest priority, because before, in the good times, MTGO would not allow sideboarding at all, if you did not finish in time with 100 cards in maindeck, you would just have kept your original deck.
Now, back to your comment, Sensei, it is not possible to tell if a player was too much in a hurry, too distracted, run out of time or hoped for not being caught or whatever, when he has an illegal deck ( unintentionally/ intentionally). The whole event would be delayed for the discussion about it, too. So, if a player has more than 100 cards in deck, he loses the game(= must concede ), if the match continues, he must change to 100 cards.
Ok, and here is the 'alternative' prize structure for our special event on 28th, in case we won't have a team event:
We triple the usual amount of prizes, but distribute them until place 8( 3 or 4 rounds, followed by Top8 playoffs)
1st place= 10 tix
2nd place= 6 tix
3-4= 4tix
5-8= 2tix
Door= 1tic
Welcome to all new players and thanks to all participants of my birthday special!
I didn't had the Championsleague final on the radar. No player from South America attended, the Italians, neither. All die-hard football fans.
So, despite the fact we had 5 new players, we were just as much as last time.
But 5 new is great, and 4 of them got prizes! WarinaBabylon even made it into the finals as gatherling virgin. Tough finals!
