No, we still collecting votes. All changes to the ban list will be applied at once, so that players have not to change their decks every week again for another new 1 or 2 cards.
Also changes 1 h before start are unfair.
In response to Charles8avier with the gatherling account problems. Dabil no longer is involved in gatherling.com as far as I know. you could message longtimegone, who could maybe help you.
about the timer. 2 weeks ago my only loss was to the timer... it sucks to lose to the timer, but i would still rather have the matches at 25 minutes, so the event goes a bit more quickly, also we have had problems with people doing shady things when the timer was 40 minutes... so avoiding that would be good as well.
I just want to say about bannings that I strongly dislike banning a card that isn't currently causing problems. If they become a problem, then it's appropriate to consider banning.
If you ask me the state of the current ban list is that it needs to get shorter, not longer. Things like Brainstorm and Ponder simply don't need to be banned; I realize that they are "auto-includes" in blue decks but banning them just shifts the same slots over to Preordain and other slightly less effective cantrips. The problem with banning cards that aren't causing any issues is that once they're banned, they no longer have the chance to prove that they don't need to be banned.
I realize I'm the only one who plays Entomb but I honestly think it isn't too overpowered because there's plenty of incidental graveyard hate that many people play maindeck such as Deathrite Shaman or Scavenging Ooze, not to mention fine sideboard options like Relic of Progenitus, Grafdigger's Cage, or Nihil Spellbomb that anyone can make use of. Green and black both have direct graveyard hate, blue has counterspells, white has stuff like Swords to Plowshares, Path, etc. as well as Rest in Peace and Containment Priest, and red has speed and consistency. Every color has ways of fighting it if they need to.
So as for an official vote, here is what I propose:
Ban: Nothing
Unban:
Brainstorm
Lotus Petal
Ponder
Thirst for Knowledge
These are all things that I have no idea why they are even on the ban list, besides being banned and/or restricted in Legacy and/or Vintage. Brainstorm and Ponder, while good cantrips, simply do not need to be banned. Thirst for Knowledge and Lotus Petal I don't even know why they are banned. Are you really afraid of someone's crazy combo deck being enabled by having access to one Lotus Petal? Thirst for Knowledge is another card draw spell that is simply good but not crazy or anything.
As for tournament structure, I have no opinions on that.
Hello S100 fans!
I'm back! The problem was, that I rented a room and could co-use bath and kitchen in the flat. The main renter, cheated me and the landlord, he did not pay the rent or electricity, and is on the flight. It was terrible, I lost power without a warning, and then had to move in 3 weeks.
I tried to organize a replacement for you guys, I hope it worked.
On top of that, Vodafone bought Kabel Deutschland ( Cable Germany, where I was customer) last year, so instead of almost instant (1-2 days) technical support, like i was used to for the last 8 years, I had to wait 3 weeks, before they sent a technician to give me access to internet again in the new flat. Which was today. Hooray! Back in the civilized world.
I hope to meet you all on Saturday!
FYI: I will check now gatherling and send all data to sponsor, so prizes for the last 3 weeks should be available soon. He will send you a mail, as usally, when the credits are uploaded.
Nobody supported my idea of increasing match time, in fact 3 were against it: Dismissed.
Nobody was against unbanning the commons: Ponder, Brainstorm, Lotus Petal, Thirst for Knowledge: Accepted
Ban Waste land: 3-3, dismissed
Ban or unban Strip Mine: 3-2, dismissed( still illegal).
Ban Birthing Pod: 2-2, dismissed.
Ban Oath of Druids: 3-2, accepted.
Ban Entomb: 3-2, accepted.
Ban Mana Drain: 4-2, accepted.
Ban Dig Through Time: 3-2, accepted.
Thanks to all participants!
All decisions were very close, so I think it would be justified to make a another poll with the then earned experience in half a year or so.
Of note, we can start using the Legacy filter now for 100CS.
As you mentioned before, I'm in no rush to do this. The Legacy folder already contains most decks from the other PRE formats
Mental Misstep, Mishra's Workshop and Bazaar of Baghdad are currently allowed. Using the Legacy Filter would also essentially ban these cards. There may be others as well, but these I know are effected.
I have about 100 decks in the legacy folder. All formats( unless modern) I have ever played, are stuffed in there by Mtgo: Heirloom, Tribal, S100, Legacy. Beside the practical problem of banning the cards Gumgod mentioned, I have no intention to make S100 a legacy format, at all!
I still have dozens of decks: (Singleton 100) Singleton 1052, (Singleton 100) Singleton 1060 named by MTGO at day of conversion. I could not imagine any worse description. I deeply despise whoever made this conversion. It's absolutely stupid, like all decisions and changes of WotC in the last 2 years.
If WotC thinks it's a great idea to limit the size of deck names(why?!), it's the stupidest thing to use 90% of the available characters for: (Singleton 100) Singleton !
That are 26 characters! (S100) has 6, and would have allowed to keep the original deck names by the owners.
You need no graduate degree to see on first glance, that writing the format name twice makes no sense at all. You don't need years of playing experience or knowledge in programming to come up with a better solution, you just need an IQ slightly higher than a potato.
It's this mindless approach and handling of WotC that really infuriates me. Bunch of imbecils.
And there are not dozens of these issues, there are hundreds.
Players say: The game takes too long! We cut match timer by 5 min.
Focus groups say: The screen is too static, no 'action' in turns! We introduce a useless moving on newly placed permanents, so that their positions change on battlefield. Voila: Action!
(Which in fact is worse than before in terms of playing the game, no player with paper cards would do that! )
New Players say: The main chat is a bit chaotic and confusing! We have 2 solutions: We introduce a new chat system, that guaranteed nobody wants to use, we even have no copy&paste functionality implemented, and we remove the main chat.
Who wants to see dozens of players writing, a buzzing and vital community, when you could have a steril environment without any communication?! That's why we removed the useful phrases in matches, too. If the players still want to communicate, they have to type, at least. Ok, after mockery and sarcasm spread, we upgraded the chat system with copy&paste, but still, if someone has more than one chat window open, he will occasionaly type in the wrong chat window, because the headline is wrong, at least.
Players say: It's hard to find players for casual games, especially for the not so popular formats! We eliminate all those formats on Mtgo, problem solved.
We already tried to remove the Tribal format from Mtgo 18 month ago. After the storm of protest,
we said: 'We promise, there will always be a Tribal format on Mtgo'!
And we learned, we first closed all our official forums to remove the common plattforms for the protesters, then afterwards, 14 months after our promise, we removed all those formats, including Tribal, of course.
You don't need years of playing experience or knowledge in programming to come up with a better solution, you just need an IQ slightly higher than a potato.
So articulate, and funny because it's true.
I hate how crowded my legacy folder is as well. I really wish that I could filter these decks when trying to pick one to play a game. The scrolling is not ideal. If only they would make a search box where I could enter a term like S100, or Tribal, or Myr... It would be so fantastic. All of my decks also have stupid prefixes like (_Leg) for legacy decks, (Heirloom), and (Tribal). My vintage folder also has these (S100) for Singleton, (_Vint) for vintage, and most formats have a section (jank) for stupid things I play in the just for fun room. These help me keep them in chunks that I can browse, but it is still not an ideal solution. I still have to filter the format first so I can get a smaller list, then scroll through that list to find the deck I want. If I could just type the name or part of the name it would be so much easier.

So articulate, and funny because it's true.
Thx, I'm always trying my best to entertain you:-)
Although, mostly, I think it's rather sad than funny to see their incapability.
Sarcasm is my valve:-)
However, the truth is that the game itself and the many formats are fascinating and provide fun, in spite of a hopeless software team and management. We have proved, that we can stand them. We are still here and play how we like the game.
Seaandrhythm told me, that he talked with other participants of drafts, he played, about Chainsaw Massacre S100. This is a brilliant idea and it worked already in last week's event, where we had 3 new players. Now that the official filter of S100 is gone in MTGO, word-of-mouth advertising is a very good way to spread our format.
Less direct, but maybe another help would be a facebook page. Is there a facebook aficionado amongst us? You could just copy my starting post.
A player asked for the final standings and prize distribution:
Split is 60-40 with 2 undefeated players. For the first time, we had 2 undefeated players after swiss rounds, so it's the first time the 12th bonus tix for the final winner kicks in.

Nobody is using facebook? We still search for somebody who creates an 'info' page that refers to http://tinyurl.com/Chainsaw-S100 . You could copy my starting post here, maybe add a fancy picture( I have some nice ones). I don't think we need any updates. Just an additional place to advertise our format to new players or recruit old fans.
Ok, now that I host regularly again, we can revisit the idea of making some events with special rules. 'Modern S100' was a suggestion. I wondered if that makes a big difference, so I copied and saved some S100 decks as modern. I would say 10-25% of cards in my decks were illegal, then. Our next special event with extra prizes could have special rules, too. I hesitate to make it regularly once a month, until we have stable player numbers again, the experience with Heirloom S100(Frugal Friday) shows that 10-20% less players attended or had no deck ready for the special format.
What do you think? Do you like the idea?
Should we test it?

I would join a Facebook group, but I don't want to admin another one, so I'm not going to start one.
I'm still learning how to make a decent deck in this format. Adding additional restrictions doesn't interest me personally, but if given enough notice would still build a deck for a special event every once in a while.
I think variations on the format are a good thing to explore when we have more consistent players. As you point out, not everyone is interested in building decks for these variations. I find it time consuming to build 100 card singleton decks from scratch, which is what I'll have to do for each variation. I can't make it every time normally and this would probably make it harder for me.

I liked the page, but should this not be a group? (As opposed to a page?) Seems like it would encourage more interaction/discussion as a Facebook group. (see the vintage group for comparison). Unless you just want to direct people back here for all discussion.
