That makes sense. I love the candelabra + tron lands. Seems very ambitious, but also amazing. I like the utility with candelabra and library or factory as well.
I love seeing decks. Feel free to post and I'll at least give my opinion. Hopefully others will chime in as well. Are you playing with strip mine restricted? Because otherwise it seems like it might be difficult to assemble all of the tron lands.
Hey @Gumgod, I'd very much like to show my casual old school gauntlet off to you all but I've been swamped by work as I'm soon leaving for an overseas trip, and typing up the decklists would prolly take over an hour of my precious time which I can't spare right now.
So, I'll get back to you later, just not right now. Thanks for the interest and for being so welcoming/inclusive though, appreciate it.

100% proxies are allowed though and sometimes their poor quality makes some players think that Juzam Djinn costs BB instead of 2BB but nonetheless I think the channel is worth being in OP

I had heard there was a channel streaming old school with proxies, but I didn't know the name of it. I'll check it out, thanks.
edit: Watching them try to throw a proxy chaos orb to flip it (and completely missing the table) really amused me more than it should have. I'm glad new people are getting into this format, but they need to practice that flip!
Nice, there was another channel on twitch streaming old school as well, but they had no audio, and I don't think there's a replay available. Might be worth a follow though.
I think those guys streamed multiplayer highlander last weekend, right? Maybe they'll add more oldschool content soon so their channel is worth adding to OP

They were streaming 2HG when I was paying attention to it.
An update to the restricted list is coming soon. Any guesses before it happens?
I think The Book will be restricted. It's possible Vise becomes legal as a 4-of. Both of these would be aimed at taking The Deck down a notch.
On a personal note, I recently made a 93/94 purchase for the first time in a while, and I'm pretty excited about it. Looking forward to getting those packages in the mail.

I read the blog post, I'd be fine with an unrestricted Black Vise. I quite enjoy playing that card as a 4x in OGT2. However I'll be sad if Factory gets restricted. I love playing that card. I don't think restricting book is necessary. I also don't think it would be a big deal.
As for packages, I've been posting my 93/94 mail calls (and other images) on instagram. There seems to be a community of old school players there.
After reading that blog post, I'm no longer as sure what will happen. I also hope that Factory does not get restricted. I did kind of like the idea of giving it errata to the effect that it cannot deal damage when tapped and blocking. On the other hand, that could lead down a slippery slope where people would start to want custom errata on other cards. I know Chaos Orb already has custom errata, so that door is open, but it is something that should probably be used very rarely.
Well, I'm looking forward to finding out what happens.
I don't think that tapped creatures not dealing damage would really hurt it that much. I mean that's the way that factory in Shandalar works, and it is still an amazing card.
*Note that Ante-cards are still banned if the tournament/game you play isn't played for Ante. There haven't been a tournament played for Ante yet, but as casual Ante games have started to slowly rise in popularity, we felt it was important to make these distinctions as well. The deck with 56 Swamps and 4 Darkpacts is perhaps the single most annoying deck in the history of the game.
Unrestricted Maze just feels wrong to me. They ought to unrestrict Strip Mine to go along with that.
Back in the day Maze was always a one of, and you could run four Mines, that just feels natural(if you had been playing cica '94-'95ish).
I am glad they freed up the Vise, that needed to happen.
Even though I play by EC rules, I feel that what the Swedes do has an important impact on the format at large. They dictate the way it's received.
I'm seriously considering going. I'd probably change my White Weenie deck up a little. I built it by Swedish rules, but EC rules give it a big boost due to the inclusion of Fallen Empires.
I would have to miss work, and I'm pretty low on vacation days already, so I don't think it's an option for me. It looks like a lot of fun though! If you're planning on playing a low curve deck like that, I hear extra strip mines make a difference.
Just a heads up, Reddit user BigPappyJ has set up a Discord for Oldschool magic if anyone wants to chat over there. I'm going to add it to the 1st post.
Also I like messing around with cards like Yawgmoth Demon. I miss when creatures had a flavorful drawback. You want a 6/6 flying first strike? Ok but you're going to have to feed him.
Has anyone played White Weenie with Black Vice and Winter Orb as a stax/burn combo? Since the deck runs such a low mana curve it seems a natural inclusion, and would offset Swords to Plowshares uses.

@Tvtyrant:
I've seen a few builds that run Vise. Most of the builds I've seen are not pure white weenie, most are W/G and are Armageddon based. They like to run elves and Birds.
But it seems viable. I'd be tempted to go W/B for access to Tutor and Terror(why give people life if it isn't necessary).
Usually you'll want a way to keep their hand full, which is why most Vise builds splash for things like Wheel and Timetwister.

I made something like this, but it is a bit more mid-range/lower threat density than white weenie with serra angels and 1-2 Meekstone. Basically cut to two Savannah Lions and leave out crusade. I also run 3 Armageddon. I've found the black vises to be somewhat mediocre, and often take some of them out for sideboard slots. Even with winter orb and Armageddon it is hard to lock someone out enough for this to finish the game. I do enjoy playing it though. Basically my version becomes a prison deck instead of a straight aggro deck.
I suppose from my point of view running it as an aggro deck, there is a tempo advantage from winter orb while vice is a kind of repeating bolt. For a midrange deck you lose the advantages of tempo by slowing down instead of slamming 1-2 drops under your shields.
