Has anyone used the new Commander cards in an Archenemy game yet?
We play quite some Archenemy, and have each of the Commander decks. Some of the cards are really fun to play in Archenemy.
For example, as ally play Death by Dragons choosing not to give the Archenemy a Dragon. We already have one player that played a lot of Hunter's Feast before this, so it's a nice addition.
The Join Forces cycle can be interesting too, but Mana-Charged Dragon is probably the most ridiculous of the cycle when playing as ally.
For Archenemies there's the new Hydra Omnivore to handle the large number of opponents easier.
Anyone else have experience with these new cards in Archenemy?
The "Join Forces" mechanic is great on Mana-Charged Dragon, but I'm afraid it'd backfire with the other 4 cards. ^^; Death by Dragons is another great card though.
Personally, I could maximize that myself by playing Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund after playing it and choosing to give everyone a dragon buy myself.
I'd love to find out other cards like these to maximize the "team spirit" aspect of the game though.
we recently did a commander archenemy game (3+ hours long) where everyone had there own highlander scheme deck and was allowed an archenemy max handsize of two and no more than one sheme per turn. this allowed people to save their bombs without an overkill of several schemes being droped at once. it also allowed people to hammer the pack leader and re-equalize the board. the game was an absolute blast if lengthy and i highly recommend the scheme hand. max hand size of one might be better for play speed but i have not tested it yet.
