It seemed that Luis was doing very well with this decklist on Sat., although I left after the 6th round. I was wondering, how does this deck keep the early swarm from Goyf decks down?
I played 4 Damnation in my UB Pickles deck that same day and lost to 3 Goyf decks (0-3) and was 3-1 against other decks (lost to 1 rogue deck; very embarrassing).

Relic Control are mainly removal heavy decks. Creature win conditions usually aren't more than a Triskelavus or a few Hellkites, but clearly he's running Infiltrators for more draw power and against UB. UB runs Damnations, 2-3 Tendrils, and 2-3 Slaughter Pacts. Relic control usually has that much, plus Strangling Soot (2 kill spells) and Void, plus at least an extra in the SB as well. Void really cripples most variants of Gofy as most of their cards are 2cc.
I played Pickles in the GP with a Damnation transformational SB, but yeah, all the decks I've lost to were Goyf as well. Beat all other aggro decks though. With a large field, I'm sure he could have sneaked past a few Goyfs as well, but with 6 maindecked wrath effects where one of them can completely strip the field and hand makes me wonder why I never saw more of this deck in the top tables.

Its because a deck like this, while really strong and possibly the best deck in the format, requires near perfect play ~and~ a near perfect list. Having the wrong number of a card can be catastrophic with this deck.
That said, I don't understand why he only ran three Relics, seems to me thats an automatic 4-of in this deck with the demands it puts on its mana.

I'm guessing he had 3 Relics to limit the times he'll have 2 in his opening hand and keep it to 1 max in opening hand very often. When I play WP Sliver, I often had 2 in my opening hand and it didn't help.

I don't know why another thread was made for this. This is really UB Teachings. Relics have been in builds for a while now. Void is just moved over from the BRu versions of the deck. Not that surprising since UG and GW weren't the best matchups.

Some people just love Jace a little too much
