OK, this deck, on first glance looks like utter jank. I built it as a joke. Only thing is, it hasn't lost yet, and I'm pretty sure I'm not at the optimum build yet. I wanted to make a deck that used both Tarmogoyf and Tombstalker, hence the title. I ended up deciding to just go nuts with the giant critter theme and ended up with this so far.
Most games on t3 you'll be dropping a 5/5 or an 8/8, then doing it again on t4. With a really good hand I've had 18 power on the table on t4. Your graveyard serves exactly two purposes: #1, feed tombstalker. #2, supply any missing card types your opponent isn't providing for Tarmogoyf. That's really about it. Don't ever fear to remove the whole yard for Tombstalker, though I'll usually pay as much as I can to save more cards for future stalkers and to replay in the face of bounce. Fortunately this deck has lots of cards that go straight to the yard, so its not much of a problem. In the board, Dodecapod fits right into your gameplan and helps vs. discard. Seal is for Teferi's Moat. Pact and Death are for Pickles, and Vows are for Akromas.
This deck topdecks like Tooth and Nail thanks to all the landsearch and cantrips, plus Harmonize helps too. It's also cool that lategame, Edge goes from manafixer to carddraw and Abomb goes from mana to beatstick.
I've considered the following cards as possible additions: Boom/Bust, Temporal Isolation, Undying Rage, Street Wraith, and Greater Gargadon.
The problem is that tomstalker and Goyf seem counter active, as tombstalker can weaken your goyf. Midrange decks that apply early game pressure slow seem to have trouble against a welltimed delay, vesuvan shapeshifter, or brine elemental.
I would run Riftsweeper, wall of roots and withered wretch and slaughter pact as u have no removal for an 8/8 kavu predator and or flyers for that much
