this got second place in los angeles. i dont understand the SB at all. when does psychotic episode do anything relevant?
things i dont like: 1) 8 win conditions seems a bit too few. i like using 9-10. maybe a plague sliver or two? its only 4 mana, its a 5/5 and it kills sliver decks.
2) i know this might sound dumb, but what about 2 boom/bust in the sb and 1 MD mountain? then you have 9 red mana sources, and it works well with 1) terramorphic expanse 2) goyf 3) flagstones 4) your generally low cmc accompanied by your large amount of lands 5) when you have 1 urborg in hand and 1 in play, nail the o ne in play so the other doesnt sit in your hand. it buys you a turn of swinging. thoughts?
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck *********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like to to occur and validate you.
This deck has the potential to be pretty good. It can have a good anti-control matchup if it keeps the amount of discard it has main while increasing the number of solid finishers, and it can board into an anti-aggro plan post-board.
It's still not colorless, and has no color. That's a paradox. So either you're a Zen master or an idiot, I'll assume the Zen master for sake of argument. This card will have no paradoxes because it has a clear paradox. Deep stuff man.
love this deck, it has the tools like discards to crush control while having cards that kill aggo too in board. it also doesnt bend over against g/w like many other discard based decks

Welllllll...not quite. Its outs to threshed Mystic Enforcers are...threshed Mystic Enforcers. It literally cannot stop a Guided, Threshed Mystic Enforcer without doubling block with two Enforcers of its own. After board, it's a rout, though. I'm playing with a 3/2 split of removal, but slanted to Tendrils, because those are just such ridiculousness against aggro.
most rack decks have crappy kill conditions, so rack is there to push throuigh damage since it works well with discard. this deck have great kill coniditions tarmogoyf+mystic enforcer
i might play the rack in sideboard against like teachings or korlash control maybe, or against like mono red because it empties its hand so fast
u dont need those. howevery agaisnt u/b teaching decks. u do want some extirpate to remove those mystic teaching. i really hate it when i discarded their whole hand and they come back with a single mystic teaching for a careful consdieration
agaisnt mono red, u should just board in aggro hate like tendrils+aven riftwatcher

A few things:
1. Extirpate targets Careful Consideration without a second thought. All their other Teachings targets are nowhere near as good with no cards in hand.
2. Aven Riftwatcher is reallllly bad in this deck's board. I'd just board in more creatures and make them answer them with their burn. It's basically the same thing. If you don't put a clock on red, they'll just draw their burn and win anyways.

i agree with the first point. if careful consideration is in graveyard i would definitly hit that first i mean if they dont have careful consderation u would want to hit that teaching. one or the other as long as they cant find or play careful consderation we win. but agaisnt rdw, aven riftwatcher is a 2-3 for 1 in our favor. i mean it gains 4 life. they cant attack with warmarshall. u can even race them with it. and the late game is always urs. this deck pact tarmogoyf+enforcer so our creatures r just bigger. and we ahve 6 answers maindeck agaisnt their gargadon(3 temporal+3 pact)
2 disenchants is a must in the sideboard. take possession really hurt this deck. i also tried cloud krestal in its place since i really like the fact that u get a creature with the same effect, but the mana for krestal is pretty hard and several games agaisnt u/b control. i actually disencahted a factory token ftw a few times and it could randomly mana screw a relic control deck
I tried to fit Calciderm and Quagnoth into the MD, as they are bombs against UGw goyf and Mono U, but their CCs were too high, plus I think the SB should be enough help in those matchups. Thoughts?
I have a few questions for everybody here about your testing experience (if you have some) with The Rack.
I have replaced 4 chromatic star with 4 rack and found that the rack just win me games out from nowhere. specially against slivers. without the rack, g1 is almost impossible to win once dormant and telekinetic hit play.
g2 is much easier with damnation.
anyways. does the rack can be a MB option ?? its another wc. think about it. there is a lot of discard in this deck.
I have switched Sunlace with Slaughter Pact between MD and SB because there is much more slivers than RDW in my meta.
I have considered a lot of cards as a SB option. Plague Sliver, Riftsweeper, Pull from Eternity, Call of the Herd (a silver bullet against RDW and Control), and even Darkheart Sliver and Mindlash Sliver (both together can do nasty things against aggro and control......yeah it might be to slow, but its more discard against control and chump, 3 life and instant goyf feed against aggro).
Chromatic Star is absolutely needed in this deck; the mana base is already really bad.
not so sure about that. you've got terramorphic expanse, urborg x3 and horizon canopy. When I have switched the star with the rack i did not feel that the star is absolutely needed. (in terms of mana base). I feel that the star would be more needed in terms of card advantage but that is another story.
By the way. The Rack totally owns the match against GW Goyf decks (pseudo-mirror).
after testing this deck i have to agree that chromatic star is vital as the mana base is touchy. but the rack has been a good sb card against other gofy decks.

temporal isolation on main is used to stop Mystic Enforcer or Akroma, Angel of Wrath
Also Funeral Charm kills looter il-kor or allows tarmogoyf to hit the las swing giving him swampwalk
At least we think that extirpate is needed on the SB with all the tons of discard we play

indeed yes. i choose it over disenchant to deal with triskelavus.
