Well, This is really just an observation of sorts but after playing lots and lots of ISD Block Con, I'm seeing Garruk everywhere. I think it's obvious why. Looking at all of the top tier deck lists a green splash just for garruk makes them perform better.
That's not to say he's an auto win, or there's no way of dealing with him. I burn Garruk's out all the time with Brimstone Volley. But Even Burning vengeance gets better when they splash Garruk.
He may be one of the few cards that goes up in value from this point instead of down. I highly recommend you get your playset while there pre JTMS prices.
He may not warp the Format like J:tms, but he is rapidly defining it.
It almost doesn't matter what your deck looks like. If there's any possible way to splash green, then Garruk makes it worth it. That's what's going on so far, the same way a certain walker from Worldwake made everyone play blue...even common decks like RUG Control and Jund are really just UR and BR decks splashing for Garruk (and sideboarded Naturalize).
At worst he 2-for-1's your opponent, trading for his removal and leaving an extra 2/2 in play. At best he wins the game by himself. That worst-case incremental advantage isn't format-warping like Jace was, but it definitely makes him the best card in the set.
It's an exaggeration to say that Garruk is "at worst" a 2-for-1. If I have Midnight Haunting + Instigator Gang in hand, all you get for 3G is a 2/2 wolf and a fog. Just like every Planeswalker ever...

so IF you happen to have a RW god draw, then garruk is just a 2/2 with +4 life? Still seems legit to me vs agro.
Garruk is good because he's never a bad draw, from opening hand till the end of the game. Casting Garruk is always a good move, whether you're ahead on the board or behind on the board. There's no way to overcommit or undercommit board position with Garruk. You can't walk into a Blasphemous Act by casting Garruk. Casting Garruk too early is almost never a problem -- if anything, casting him early is always what you want to do, if only to discard your opponent's Garruk and get a 2/2 out of it, or 2-for-1 your opponent if they have burn. Having multiple Garruks in hand is not a problem -- a 4 for 2 is even better than a 2 for 1. Either you get to cast both, or you probably won the game.
Granted, Garruk isn't the answer to all situations and there are plenty where he won't help. But in general, Garruk is a card you always want to see, and one that doesn't lose value based on game state. I'll take 4, please!
Honestly, I think invisible stalker is a bigger beast than garruk.

Odds of pulling a JtMS from a WWK pack: 1:80
Odds of pulling any specific rare in 5th Edition: 1:133
So, on average, 1 JtMS every 2.222 boxes or 1 Bird of Paradise every 3.694 boxes. Yeah, I'll take my odds with Mythics, they are easier to get than old rares.

Since when was 2 cards a god draw?
