I'm relatively new to MTGO and even after reading the trading/buying section in the OP I'm still a bit confused on the best way to sell cards and the actual process I need to go through in order to sell them. Do I just go to the trade section and make a post with what cards I want to get rid of?

That will work if they are in demand standard cards and you have them priced right.
When you say sell, I assume you mean turn unwanted cards into tickets?
The easiest way is to move the cards you want to sell to your active trade binder, and then open trade with a bot that will buy them. You can get prices on mtgowikiprice.com, mtggoldfish.com, or any bot chain that has a website with buy prices or just look in the chat to see what the bot is paying for the cards it picked.
If the bot doesn't take your cards, then it doesn't want to buy them. It's quite common for bots to be "full" IE they say they are buying but they aren't because they've bought their quota.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
So.. open the packs from the 2-player events or sell for tix?
2 Player Events = New Player Queues? or 2 Player Events = 2 Man Queues?
Usually the right move is always to sell for tickets or if they are regular 15 card packs take them to a Sealed Daily or 8 Man Draft Queue.
If they are 5 card packs from new player events, I personally would just crack them.

Just wanted to note that the 5-card packs are not tradable, nor can they be used to enter into any events. Thus, the only thing you can do with them is crack them.

Quick question for you guys. I've been heavily considering getting a MtGO account for a few weeks but don't know the best way to approach doing so.
My reason for wanting to join is simple; I need more practice with my deck. I haven't had Friday-Sunday days for for around 3 years, and have recently moved away from all my previous play group. I'm realizing that I'm just not as quick and making some game state mistakes I wouldn't have made before.
My issue is that I don't know the best way to go about getting into MTGO. The purpose is to get my Modern deck (Bg devotion, in my sig) and just grind games. I haven't played standard in around 3 years, and haven't drafted in two. I'm just not super interested in anything but modern at this moment. With that being said, is it best to slowly get into my deck, or just go all in and get my deck right off the bat?
Yeah, I was checking deck prices and my deck would be north of 550. At that point I can't just go all in. I'll still get into MTGO, but now my question is do I wait to see what the "player points" change is going to be? I've read a couple articles saying the economy is broken on MTGO which makes me rather fearful of joining up.
Hi guys, I feel completely off on this. So I have to pay ten bucks to play a shortened version of Magic where I'd have to pay more if I want to get good cards? Is there just a free database of cards where I can make my own decks and practice with them to see if I actually want to buy them?

I'm not sure what you mean by shortened version. MTGO is a complete play environment that contains a collection interface, casual and tournament play space and market. It simulates the paper card game but you can't proxy. Are you coming from paper Magic or some other magic themed game?

I am fairly new to MTGO and have been enjoying it but I can't seem to figure out how to keep my play clock from ticking down so quickly. Honestly, it seems every match I play that by game three I'm down to under five minutes remaining and my opponent is always still over 10 minutes. I try to play as fast as I can and I use F2 and F6 as often as I can. I try to make quick decisions and it seems from my POV that I'm playing every bit as fast as my opponents. So what am I doing wrong? Why is my clock always ticking down so much faster than my opponent's clock? The result is that I feel like I'm constantly rushing every turn, which doesn't make for a very fun experience. It makes it a lot more stressful than it should be and I'm always more prone to making misplays when I'm rushing every turn. Any suggestions or feedback is appreciated.

It comes with time. I know when I'm playing a new deck I don't know that I play a lot slower than I do when I play a deck I know well. You don't get a lot of time to think. One thing might be your stops. Be willing to add and remove stops during the game so that you don't have too many during the opponent's end step or upkeep unless it's really necessary. Also pay attention to what types of decks you play. I tend to avoid drafting white decks with tappers on MTGO since having to go through the motions to tap down an attacker every turn takes a lot of clock even though in paper people just shortcut and get over it.
