I know but it doesn't make sense to compare that to Grudge/Cage here.
My point is that, was BM a Fulminator, he surely would have wanted to bring it in against most matchups he played against. Would have been great vs Control/Burn and DS. With BM he couldnt because it hurts ourself more. The upside of BM being in the SB is higher vs Tron/Valakut, but for the general meta I bet its worse than Fulminator.

This is the entire Blood Moon vs Fulminator argument summed up in a single sentence. If you expect to play against Tron/Scapeshift a significant amount, play Blood Moon. If not, play Fulminator Mage. Given the generally wide open nature of Modern, outside of your LGS it gets pretty hard to predict the field for a given tournament, and even if you get the prediction right you still have to hit those matchups in a high enough number to warrant playing Blood Moon. I strongly agree with Delver that, despite the flashy upside of "getting" your opponent with Blood Moon, Fulminator is the generally "better" card in a wide open field.
See, I'm expecting to see a bunch of Jeskai (it just always seems overrepresented at SCG events, even when it wasn't considered a good choice) which would make me want Fulminator more than Blood Moon. If the big mana matchups are already poor even with Blood Moon, I'd rather hedge against everything else by running Fulminator.

True, SCG does have an absurd amount of Jeskai. Maybe at the PT Moon would be the right call
Hmmm, you may have convinced me to play Fulminator mage this weekend.
Yes, which means I plan to go 1-3 before deciding to drop out.
My store has been extremely hostile to even consider running a Jund Shadow deck. On top of that, I'm having a lot of difficulty navigating against burn decks with Shadow. This makes it clear to me I would need way more reps
Abzan is Abzan, but it feels clunky. Lingering souls pisses me off as much as it impresses me. It's so good and so bad all at the same time.

It's like a bad addiction, haha. It's my intention to immediately hop back on the Jund train in the event of a BBE unban, there's just something about the Jund combination of cards that makes the deck really enjoyable to play. Abzan doesn't even come close, and Traverse Shadow is similar but not quite there.
I also enjoy Jund the most, even if its simply due to Lightning Bolt. I just love that card. Simple, and yet so flexible and powerful. Always feels great to have it in the hand.
Shadow decks are far less enjoyable for me personally.
The spike me in says, "no, idiot, don't play this deck, it's bad!"
But--man, I love this deck. Having Bob flip a land and then draw me a bolt feels so good.
I don't think I'm good enough to play grixis shadow. The play pattern isn't always so fun, either.
Junk is fun when lingering souls aren't in my hand against combo and aggro decks.
Traverse Shadow is fine, it's not THAT different from jund.
As long as I don't completely punt like I did this Monday, I think I'm a decent jund player. I've made some top 8 PPTQs with it, I missed out on top 8 in that IQ Defish won, getting 9th. Not from misplays. My deck just fell apart against the DnT player, and the Affinity player had the absolute nut hands games 1 and 2.
I don't think I'll do very well at all in this classic this weekend, but it's 30 minutes away from me, there's no harm in getting my ass kicked with my favorite deck.
I own E-Tron and BG Tron, but I've been jamming jund and junk so much this past month and a half I haven't touched it.
I'm sort of waiting until after the PT and the unbans on where to go with things. I'd honestly be happy if Jund was a tier 2 deck again (lets be real here guys, this is definitely not a tier 2 deck, even if its placed in mtgsalvation).
Lets hope for a BBE unban, or even SFM, I just want a good excuse to play Tarmogoyfs and thoughtseize. And bolt, if possible.
So I know this is probably going to sound sacrilegious, but have any of you ever considered shaving one Liliana of the Veil?
My shop can have some periods of heavy creature decks where LoTV just really isn't that good. I remember seeing top 8 finish last year where Todd Anderson played 2 LoTV and 1 LtLH.

Imo the deck is currently tier 2.5. It's not a complete fringe deck, if you avoid big mana you can definitely make good results with it. If I wanted to beat Lantern, Affinity and aggro decks, I would probably have picked Jund some months ago over Rock and Junk. Right now I would play Mardu Pyromancer in such a meta, simply because it gives you the better tools to fight Tron and Control.
There are currently 4 or 5 black midrange decks better positioned than Jund, and I am not even sure whether an unban would help massively. I think Push is what made Jund kinda weak. The irony is that Push is a staple in Jund, but it made previously weaker black midrange decks way better and Jund only marginally.
push is also the best answer against Goyf. In the past a cheap fatty like goyf was hard to answer, usually he was bolt-proof. Push fits in so many decks, that Goyf naturally becomes worse.
As for Mardu Pyromancer, I played it once, went 5-0 with it. Its a good deck, however, it has also a pretty bad Tron matchup. BM alone doesn't do much without a reasonable clock. I think its similarly bad than Jund.
The advantage Mardu has are the control matchups. They have lots of reliable CA, which stands out here.

We're going to the Classic on Sunday though, and I don't expect that to be the case. So I will be jamming BM.
I don't think he brought them in even once, so maybe he proved they don't belong?

Or maybe even a 3/2 split. I personally would love to test that since I love LtLH so much.
