That list looks very bad to me. Running only 4 cascaders and then 3 cards that are only good if you draw LE seems like it will have a lot more variance. I suppose it specifically plays better around Remand, but not running any of the mana denial package seems like a bad strategy against a lot of the field.
I've been playing Living End off and on for the last 4 years, Yesterday I took it to a 74 player Modern PPTQ here in AZ and ended up winning the tournament!
My Final Record was 8-1-1
Below is the list I played and quick recap of my matches. I also made day 2 of GP Vegas with the same 75.
Game 1 - He lands a turn 3 Karn, and exile one of my lands, in response I use it and a SSG to cascade into living end, I Get back some creatures, Kill his Karn, cast a fuliminator to take him off Tron, I win shortly after.
Game 2 - He leads with a relic and hits natural tron, I'm able to get through two relics and cascade into some creatures but lose them to an O-Stone, I start to rebuild but he lands 2 Wurmcoils and I scoop.
Game 3 - Hit some early fulminators and quickly leave him with just a Grove in play, I cascade into living end shortly thereafter and take the match.
Round 2 2-1 Vs Merfolk
Game 1 - We get deck checked and due to a deck registration error (forgot to write down Blood Crypt and register 59 cards) We go to Game 2 with me on the play
Game 2 - I am able to go off relatively quick, but he lands to fast Merrow Reejerey and use the untap ability to dump his hand. My Carabids, Horrors and Minotaur face down a formidable army of Merfolks! I swing into his board of mostly larger creatures to get my guys into the graveyard again. on his turn I hit a Violent outburst and end up with a bigger board than him now that all his lords are in the graveyard, I swing in on my turn and use Violent outburst to pump them for the win.
Game 3 - I Mull to 6. He lands a turn 1 Vial and passes. I play a land and pass. on his endstep I cycle 3 Street Wraith and a Horror, on my turn 4 I cast demonic dread targeting one of his merfolk with SSG and Ricochet Trap in hand just in case. he has no counters and I end up getting back enough c reatures to take it down.
Round 3 - 2-1 Vs Traditional Jund
Game 1 - He rips my hand apart with inquisitions and lands a quick Dark Confidant. I cycle away and end up seeing 8 lands this game, never finding a cascade spell and die to an onslaught of giant Lhurgoyfs
Game 2 - I land a turn 0 Leyline, he leads with Turn 1 Inquisition into turn 2 double inquisition tearing my hand apart. Things are looking bleak for me as he starts to build a board. I start to flood like in game one, but finally at the last minute hit cycle, cycle, cycle into a cascade spell and am able to get a decent board going, I win in two turns. game was pretty intense.
Game 3 - finally the deck does what its supposed to do! I hit a couple quick cyclers and cascade on turn 3 and make short work of him.
Round 4 2-0 UB Faeries
I play against my friend that I drove up with... Awkward
Game 1 - I win the die roll and drop my land and get the cycling going, I hit a turn 2 fulminator to blow up his Creeping Tar pit, Turn 3 I beast within his bitterblossom and cascade back my creatures on my next turn, He scoops when I hit his next land with the fulminator.
Game 2 - He starts off with Darkslick shore into Ancestral Visions. I start cycling, he misses a couple land drops and I'm making all mine, I have 2 Ricochet traps in hand and redirect his Ancestral Visions to me when it comes off suspend. I find a Cascade spell in the 3 cards and go off on my next turn and win shortly thereafter.
Round 5 - 2-0 Vs UG Eldrazi
Game 1 - I keep a hand of 5 cyclers and 2 lands, he leads with a turn 1 Noble Hierarch into a turn 2 Thought-Knot and takes a cycler. my graveyard is pretty full when he drops a Smasher on Turn 3 and attacks, I Violent outburst in his combat step and get my guys back, I have him on a turn 2 clock and he scoops after he draws into nothing.
Game 2 - (I bring in my other Shriekmaw for Thought-Knot Value as well as my Leylines just in case) he lands a turn to RIP which I am able to Beast Within and then start cycling, he the drops a Worship with a Hierarch, Skyspawner and a Scion token on the field. at the end of his turn I also Beast it and then cast demonic dread targeting the skyspawner and have enough creatures in play on my next turn to kill him with a Violent outburst pump.
Round 6 - 1-2 Vs Affinity
This is the round where I should be able to draw in, but with only 3 5-0 players I get the down pair to a 4-1 player. Ironically this is the same guy that I faced in the finals the previous week of a Legacy Champs event in Tucson.
Game 1 - he dumps his hand by turn two and I see no Arcbound Ravagers and the coast is clear to go off. I cascade in his next endstep and we're on to game 2
Game 2 - I have a turn 0 leyline which puzzles him for a moment, before I advise him "It's for Ravager". My hand has some ingot chewers so things are looking good. I take out a few of his early threats and get some creatures in the graveyard, but I never see a Demonic Dread or Violent outburst and lose to a bunch of signal pest pumped robots.
Game 3 - I keep a great hand with an ingot chewer or two and we're off. again, I never find a cascade spell and end up losing the game with 10+ creatures in my graveyard. Disheartening.
Round 7 - DRAW vs Burn
Got to fade this match-up all day and am happy to draw into top 8 with him.
Top 8 -
I'm 3rd seed, so for the most part I will be on the play for the entire top 8 if things go well. The Top 8 is as follow:
Burn, Death and Taxes, Living End, Affinity, Affinity, RG Titan Shift, Death and Taxes, GB Tron in order of seeding.
Top 8 - 2-0 Vs RG Titan Shift
Game 1 - he opens search for tomorrow and passes, I drop my land and pass back, he makes the mistake of dropping two relics on turn two, Im able to cycle some street wraiths in response and I go off with a SSG on the next turn. I'm able to get in for 19 on my next turn and he scoops at 1 life.
Game 2 - not too much going on until his turn 3 he uses summoners pact to get a Sakura Tribe Elder to speed up his board, on my turn I beast within one of his lands and pass back, he's not able to pay the pact on his upkeep and losses the game.
Top 4 - 2-1 Death and Taxes
Game 1 - He gets out some early blade splicers and Thraben Inspectors. I am able to cascade once into a pretty weak pile of creatures, I have a bunch of fulminator and one or two other creatures. his graveyard is full of Blade Splicers and flickerwisps so I cant really cascade again as he will have the bigger board. its a grindy game but I eventually scoop after he has an overwhelming board presence.
Game 2 - I board in my leylines and the 2nd Shriekmaw, I have a turn 0 Leyline, but have trouble finding a cascade spell and I start to flood out. he starts building a quick board against me, I have to start hard casting creatures as I cant find a cascade spell, he drops a resto angel and we get each other each to 1 life, finally in his attack step I'm able to cascade into a living end and I win on my next turn... SUPER close game 2.
Game 3 - The deck turns on and I cycle 3 Street Wraiths at the end of his Turn 2, on my turn im able to use a SSG to target one of his inspectors with a Demonic Dread and I have 9 power against an empty board on turn 3. I quickly get there 2 turns later.
Finals - 2-1 Vs Affinity
I am paired up with the very competent Affinity player that beat me in swiss and crushed me in Finals the previous week in Legacy... Time to avenge my loss!
Game 1 - He mulls to 5, and I have a pretty solid hand. I get a quick win in and see zero Arcbound Ravagers! Wheew!
Game 2 - We both mulligan to 6 and I keep a decent hand with 2 Ingot Chewers. he starts to build his board with vault skirge followed with a Ravager, I take out the ravager with a chewer, and cycle some creatures, he gets in for a few each turn and I continue to build my graveyard. Finally I have to suspend a living end and hope I can make it 3 turns. Finally at 5 life I cast the living end on my turn and have a sizable board including 3 ingot chewers and a Deadshot Minotaur to take care of some of his creatures and his vault skirge. however he has a blink month in play and is able to activate with my triggers on the stack and sack all his guys to his ravager then sack the ravager to move the counters to the blinkmoth... making it a 5/5 flyer. I hope to draw a beast within or a fulminator to take care of it and get me to my next turn where I have more than lethal on board. I dont hit anything. He goes to his turn and attacks for lethal. in an act of desperation I fire off a recently drawn Violent Outburst to see if I can buy me a turn and hopefully hit another outburst to get my board back. alas I hit nothing and we go to game 3.
Game 3 - The most intense nail biting game of the day. I have a solid hand with some chewers and get started cycling, he starts to drop some creatures but I quickly go off and have a respectable board. He starts dropping Steel Overseers as I chip in for damage each turn, throwing ornitopters and Memnites in the way to buy him some time. his overseers do work, pumping his team and several of his manlands. I am at 14 life and have him at 1 when he stabilizes and starts to turn the tide with his pumped team that is now larger than my creatures. I am desperately searching for a cascade spell, I start hitting SSGs, Fulminators and Horrors and start casting them to use for chump blockers. I cant believe I'm about to lose this match when it was looking like a clear victory from the start! hes getting in with a Jacked inkmonth for 3, then 5 the next turn. I've now cast 2 fulminators, 2 SSGs and a horror to just try and survive. I use my last fulminator to blow up his biggest inkmonth so I don't die from infect. he passes to me what is most likely going to be my last turn, I draw for turn... I sigh, Violent Outburst is the draw! I slump into my chair and quickly pass to him. He moves to combat and swings in with a now pumped and lethal Inkmoth. I hold my breath and tap 3 to cast the outburst and ask him if Living end is good. It is! I get a substantial board back and am able to once again kill a bunch of his board with newly reanimated Fulminators, Ingot Chewers and Minotaurs. I'm back into the game and am able to get the win on my next turn! he shows me a RIP that he had in hand for some time, but wasnt able to cast because he was at 1 life and only had Spire of industry in play... such an INTENSE finals against a very skilled opponent.
I'm excited to take Living End to the RPTQ in San Diego later this year and hopefully qualify for my first Pro Tour!
Thanks to Play or Draw in Avondale for putting on a great event as well as having a huge inventory of cards for me to spend my winnings on! got a ton of new legacy staples to add to my collection.
Ricochet Trap wasn't too necessary, but I think the card needs to be in the sideboard in case you run across a control match-up, also I only boarded in Lost Legacy once during the entire tournament and that was against the Titanshift Player to hopefully take his Primeval Titans, so I would say lost legacy wasn't too necessary. I was also fortunate to never need to board in my brindle boars as burn doesnt seem to be very popular right now. outside of that I thought the sideboard was pretty solid. Depending on the match-ups I often side-boarded out Fulminators, architects of will and some # of SSGs depending if I was on if I felt the games would go longer.
Took the same list as a few pages back with the sideboard tweaked to another 60+ person PPTQ, and I lose AGAIN in top 4. Round 1: Burn 2-1, Round 2: Burn 2-1, Round 3: BW Tokens 2-0, Round 4: Living End 2-0, Round 5: Eldrazi Tron ID, Round 6: Grixis DS 2-0, Top 8: Bring to Light Scapeshift 2-0, Top 4: Burn 0-2. I was the first seed going into the top 8 so I was on the play and against my last opponent I mulled to 5. Both my 6 and 5 both had double Living End in them. Unreal. The bad luck is palpable.
How did you find a screen shot of your event scores? I've been looking for a break down of my wins and loses from the Grand Prix Las Vegas event.

What is the best plan against TitanShift? I'm playing in a PPTQ this weekend and at our last tune up event Monday, 4 of 24 players were on TitanShift. I even caught a matchup round 1 (he was on a Jund variant) and while I was able to take it, I was pretty fortunate to win Game 1. I was able to hit him with Fulminator on turns 3-5 with a Living End on 4. Game 2 I sided in and hit my Leyline of Sanctity, but if I hadn't I was cold to his opener (Valakut, Scapeshift x2 and lands+ramp).
But what do we actually do against this deck, especially the straight RG that does have a bunch of dead Fatal Pushes?
Well the LD line of play and leyline of sanctity are things that work. Not much else to do though. If you can make room in the SB, lost legacy (or something to that effect) also adds another layer of hate, but that's about it.
What are your thoughts on Desert Cerodon? I would put it over Minotaurs or Architects, or are their utility more valuable than the 6/4?
I'm very much in favor of both Ceradon and Horror. The 3 additional power is often the difference in killing an opponent in one turn vs two, which is critical against matchups like Burn.
-------------------------
I suppose I should include Lost Legacy over Slaughter Games just since it can come out when most effective. Good call, I'll jam 2 into the board.
I don't know if this is a subject that has already been explored, but is there a possibility of making a base blue-red build of living end without cascade spells?
If we ran 4 living ends and 4 each of As Foretold and Kari Zev's Expertise, we could eliminate the restriction of not running spells less than 3 cmc. That reason alone is enough to consider the change to me.
Sure, we'd have to find one of the four living ends along with one of the eight enablers, but our Plan A involves drawing alot of cards through cycling anyway.
We could splash black for a grixis build in order to run discard spells, horror of the broken lands, and shriekmaws. Having blue in our deck lets us play Curator of Mysteries too, which is nice.
Overall, just a shower thought. What do you think? What spells under 3 cmc do we want to run in the first place?

But what do we actually do against this deck, especially the straight RG that does have a bunch of dead Fatal Pushes?
against Titan shift you need a fast hand and usually want to see fulminators or beast within in you opener, or be able to go off turn 2-3 with decent # of cyclers in the graveyard, using beast within to take out their lands slows them down a ton. Also Lost legacy in the sideboard is huge, pretty sure that was the only card I boarded in against them. you're definitely trying to play a short game against them as they need to ramp up to get you.
What are your thoughts on Desert Cerodon? I would put it over Minotaurs or Architects, or are their utility more valuable than the 6/4?
I tested with Cerodon for a bit and it is a great upgrade, but I opted to not play him as with my current configuration I can cycle pretty much all my creatures with every land in my deck(except for the basics) where Cerodon cant be cycled off Overgrown tomb or the blooming marshes. It makes the deck a little more fluid. also Minotaurs ability helps against some match ups where you can take out a flier as it comes into play(affinity. vault skirg) I often sideboard out the architects sometimes as they are the only creature I cant cast if it comes down to casting creatures.

What spells under 3 cmc do we want to run in the first place?

against Titan shift you need a fast hand and usually want to see fulminators or beast within in you opener, or be able to go off turn 2-3 with decent # of cyclers in the graveyard, using beast within to take out their lands slows them down a ton. Also Lost legacy in the sideboard is huge, pretty sure that was the only card I boarded in against them. you're definitely trying to play a short game against them as they need to ramp up to get you.

I tested with Cerodon for a bit and it is a great upgrade, but I opted to not play him as with my current configuration I can cycle pretty much all my creatures with every land in my deck(except for the basics) where Cerodon cant be cycled off Overgrown tomb or the blooming marshes. It makes the deck a little more fluid. also Minotaurs ability helps against some match ups where you can take out a flier as it comes into play(affinity. vault skirg) I often sideboard out the architects sometimes as they are the only creature I cant cast if it comes down to casting creatures.

my mana base is also a bit different with a playset of copperline gorge instead of blooming marsh.
i just value desert cerodon more because it is a strict upgrade to deadshot minotaur.
And by having less minotaur, faerie macabre can add additional power to the board instead of just dying off (i won a game on the back of a faerie + kessig wolf run once)
