Got Top 64 in the Open this past weekend. Will probably do a writeup later. I didn't change the deck much from SCG Charlotte and Vegas other than taking out an Anger from the SB and adding a Rec Sage.
Some highlights: Played DS 6 times over the two days (5 Grixis, 1 Esper). My Esper opponent played against Grixis 8 times in day 1 (went 7-1), talk about metagaming.
Placed 53th overall (10-5). Losses were to Grixis Shadow, RG Tooth and Nail, Grixis Shadow, Junk Midrange, and UWR Saheeli. The match against Saheeli was for Top 32, so his list is the one you see posted on the SCG site in 30th I think. One of the shadow losses was hard fought, the other I hit land flood both games so I don't know how to evaluate that.
Probably the last event for a while until PPTQ season.
Nice. Solid job. Is there any way that you can do a tournament report? It is nice to see what the losses were to, but it would be cool to see all of the decks you beat and how.

I don't even know how that got in there, it said 60 when I saved it. Oh well.
Thanks! I was pretty close to Top 32 and need to break my 10-5 ceiling but at least I got some cash out of it. Yeah, Prismatic Omen pulled a lot of weight in a lot of matchups. I've played with 2 for a long time and feel comfortable with that number.
The KHE is still a preference thing. I wanted to go on autopilot for the tournament and the lines with KHE are hardwired at this point. There was a match or two where I was able to Scapeshift under a Stubborn Denial to set my board with KHE to get lethal. IMO you have a lot more plays because the deck is good at getting 6, 12, and 18+ damage but nothing inbetween and a lot of decks will just sit at 15-20 life. Grixis DS pretty much has to drop to 12 and doesn't have a way to deal with resolved enchantments. It gives you some stupid inevitability if they are playing Serum Visions/Thought Scour for a few turns.
To be fair, KHE (and this deck) was just awful against the Jund version.
@FoodChainGoblins That's the plan. I'd work on it today but have some stuff due at work I'm trying to get done so it'll be a few days.
First of as a recent convert, this primer is both useful and not filled with vitriol so kudos to you lot.
Im a little new to modern and this deck so apologies for any idiot questions. For reference im running off the Drake Holmes list from page 1 and am loving it.
1) Am I right in thinking that Prismatic Omen effectively drops the magic scapeshift number to 6 lands for 18 and 5 for land drops to bolt?
2) Are people moving away from KHE because its slow? Im wondering how many to run because when it works it is amazing but is also usually one of the first things cut in SB.
3) Sweltering Suns vs Anger of the Gods is a meta call right? Essentially comparing the cycle to exile, in an unknown meta case is it worth running a mix and switching in SB?
Thanks

Modern: RG Titanshift. A deck made of cards too stupid for EDH.
Retired: Lots. More than I feel you should suffer through or I should type out.
To answer your questions, 6 is the minimum number of lands needed to go off with Prismatic Omen and scapeshift as they have to see 5 other. So, 1 seeing 5 other means 6. Each of those 6 sees the other. Also, the number is 72. 4x3x6. 4 valakuts each being triggered 6 times. I'm not sure why other people are moving towards Omen over KHE, but I decided to try it out and it was so powerful I haven't wanted to give it up. I felt that KHE was dead so often and lead to poor sequencing sometimes so I had already trimmed it down to 2 copies. And in a blind meta, I would main Sweltering Suns and side Anger. In a meta where I know Anger is super necessary, I would main it and side no Suns at all. In most metas on RG, I would main Suns and side Relic but probably no anger. I have been on Jund for a while though and haven't tested that idea yet. But it has seen success in some lists. I just don't want to devote so more than 4 slots at the absolute maximum in the 75 to sweepers right now. I used to run 3 Anger main, the 4th in the side, and 3 pyroclasm. But that was because I knew my meta very well and almost everyone was on swarmy Aggro and tribal decks.

Do you ever side out omens? If so, what matchups would you take out omen in? I can imagine against decks with abrupt decay, q pridemages?
Exactly what you said. If I think my opponent has removal for them and they saw it game one I'll take it out. Also, I bring it out if I don't think I'll be able to get to the late game in favor of the disruption that lines up properly with my opponent.
Hi guys, have been playing mostly R/G breach with Emrakul, thinking about switching to titanshift. The thing is, i only have 3 scapeshift, what would you put to "replace" the 4th scapeshift? Chandra, torch of defiance? thx for the help!

I agree with the previous suggestions. Another wincon is what you want. And I bet you have the third Pact from playing Breach Titan. So that's probably where you should go.
All that about needing 10 wincons being said, don't worry about siding some out on occasion. Usually you will do that in controlling or grindy matchups in favor of threats from the board such as thrun, the last troll that matchup better against your opponents disruption. I have found that against decks likely to bring in negates I will bring out a scapeshift or two in favor of a Thrun and some number of Obstinate Baloths.
thanks guys for the advices! And what are your opinion on prismatic omen, is it worth it or not?
That comes down to personal preference. I've been trying them for the past few days and they've been fantastic for me, so I'll keep them in for the foreseeable future.
Round 1 vs. Grixis Control. Double Cryptic Command on win-cons, then ScM Cryptic on Scapeshift. Lands a Tasigur and he and Snappy make quick work of me with a K-Command. In the next game, he gets Terminate on my Hornet Nest (needs to be a Colossus now). Then he does a Kologhan's Command into Cryptic Command into Snapcaster Mage, K Command into K Command again. He beats down with double Snappies. I could have played around K Command, but I forced a land and STE into play and had to discard Scapeshift and Valakut on consecutive turns. Poor play by me, but I felt a bit of a defeatist attitude. No excuses. 0-2.
Round 2 vs. Esper Goryo. He gets out Jace, Vryn's Prodigy. I could have done the safe play and Lightning Bolted it, but I wanted to see what he had instead. He had Thought Scour into discard Obzedat and Goryo's Vengeance it. Beats me down with it. I get Relic of Progenitus in the next one and it obviously slows him down a bunch. I tap out and he gets Obzedat off Vengeance. But I have 2 Titans and they end up getting there. In the last game, it is pretty close and I have to use some Valakut triggers to kill his Souls token and Tasigur. He gets EoT Goryo's Vengeance on Tasigur and I scoop. I had 2 Forest in hand that I had drawn, although I did draw Relic of Progenitus, cycling it for 2 mana and drew Obstinate Baloth to save me and put him within 1 damage of killing him when I had to kill Tasigur instead (two Valakut triggers with him at 7). 1-2.
Round 3 vs. Eldrazi Tron. First time ever playing in a tournament vs. this deck, despite my main reason for playing this deck being its matchup vs. E Tron. Oh well. I'll probably find a way to lose! I have a Titan and Scapeshift. My first 2 draws are 2 more Titans. I also have double Chandra to kill his Thought-Knot Seer. He doesn't get the big hits and I kill him with the Titans. In the next game, he gets turn 3 Karn, then Smasher, and Walking Ballista and Basilisk Collar. I get some Valakut triggers off a Titan, but can't quite get there as he has too many bodies. I scoop. In the last game, I draw double Summoner's Pact in a row and get there after ramping pretty easily. Best draw of the tournament. 2-1.
1-2, which was rough. I should have played better in some of the rounds, but honestly triple Cryptic Command is tough to beat for a slow hand. And quadruple Kologhan's Command and double Cryptic Command is also tough to beat. Good on him.

I know the sideboard is a bit clunky, still getting some of the components and I think I'm good to go.
Round 1 vs. 4c Humans. Opponent started off with Noble Hierarch and double Champion of the Parish but I manage to stabilize the board, bolting one Parish and chump block then Scapeshift with 7 lands. Game 2 mull to 5 (I think) with opening hand 2 Mountains with all green spells and mull to 6 no land. Down to 7 life and 7 lands, I had Scapeshift and Summoner's Pact with him having bunch of weenies including Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and Kambal, Consul of Allocation with 18 life. Game 3 was easy, early Anger and Scapeshift. 2-1
Round 2 vs. Burn. To cut it short, I lost both games and was late by a turn. He won the turn that I could have won in my next turn. 0-2
Round 3 vs. Affinity. He vomited on turn 2 and I didn't get Anger. Won game 2 by drawing all removal spells, Bolt, Ancient Grudge, Destructive Revelry and won with Titan. Similar to game 1, I didn't find removal. I drew a Destructive Revelry, which I thought was Ancient Grudge, which could have won me the game. 1-2

Against burn, I always felt 1 turn too slow. I've resolved Baloths (w life gain)and still lost the race. Pulse of murasa could be worth looking into to shore up that matchup.
As for affinity, it always boils down to how much SB hate you draw.
Got that 4-0 at FNM! This after a few rough outings for myself.
Round 1 vs. Affinity. Sweltering Suns and Lightning Bolt hurt him. In the next game, he got me super low, but I topdecked Scapeshift and the game ended since I had Summoner's Pact for Sakura Tribe-Elder and 6 lands in play before sacrificing the Tribe Elder. He had paid 2 life for a Vault Skirge earlier that died immediately. 2-0.
Round 2 vs. Death's Shadow Jund. In the first game, he has Mutagenic Growth and Temur Battle Rage to force 1 of 2 Tarmogoyfs through for lethal damage past a sacrificed Sakura Tribe-Elder. Wish I had drawn Relic of Progenitus. In the next 2 games, I do get Relic of Progenitus and dodge the Temur Battle Rage combo to win. In the final game, I had a choice between Obstinate Baloth or Chameleon Colossus, but felt like he had a Liliana of the Veil as his last card. So I cast Obstinate Baloth to insulate my life total and because it was the creature I cared less about being sacrificed. It turns out he said he only had 1 in the SB and it wasn't in his hand, so my Colossus could have blocked his Death's Shadow all day. Got there with a Prime Time, a land drop, and Farseek for lethal. 2-1.
Round 3 vs. RW Prison type deck, but his own choices. He gets turn 1 SSG into Thalia, but I get Sweltering Suns to take that out and a Leonin Arbiter. I Bolt another Thalia and have perfect ramp into double Prime Time. Easy win and wonderful draws by me! In the next game, he gets me with Aven Mindcensor on my Search for Tomorrow. The top 4 cards were Bolt, Bolt, Farseek, Sweltering Suns. I draw a Mountain for the turn and play it. I get Sweltering Suns again and he is forced to cast and swing away with a Simian Spirit Guide. I slowly take damage, saving my Lightning Bolt for any troublesome critter and then I get double Prime Time. He gets Blood Moon, but I keep pulling out lands and he can't answer 2 of them just swinging away. I was trying to draw into Summoner's Pact X 2, Reclamation Sage, Nature's Claim, or 2 Beast Within to just win on the spot since I had 4 fetches in play and 4 Valakuts, so I just needed the Blood Moon to leave play. He scoops to the Prime Times. 2-0.
Round 4 vs. Jund. There are no other 3-0s, so I am paired down. In the first game, I get Dark Confidant with a Sweltering Suns. Then I ramp up and he doesn't have any more discard after turn 3. I get double Prime Time and he can't deal with it, especially since he had to tap out for Olivia Voldaren. He mulls to 5 in the last game. I make a risky play by Summoner's Pact for Tireless Tracker into fetchland for my 4th land. He kills it with Lightning Bolt and keeps swinging away. He does the same with 2 Prime Times, but I get enough triggers with Farseek after the final Titan died to kill him. I was at 5 life with Lightning Bolt in hand for him, but he got stuck on 2 mana the whole game. He said maybe he was greedy for keeping the 2 lander with Dark Confidant, but I think we both know it's the right play. He missed land drops for at least 4 turns. 2-0.
4-0 and a bunch of good draws. It felt good to know that the deck doesn't stumble all over itself. Switched to the Mrichi online PPTQ version with 2 changes in the SB, taking out a Grafdigger's Cage and Leyline of Sanctity for 2 Beast Within.

Round 4 vs.
