Throughout the years, I've seen a lot (few) cards that have been released in either red, green, or occasionally white that seem to have mill-like applications. Red has its wheels that I know of, but I've never kept track of the 'mill' cards released in green or white because of how few and far between they are. These cards again arent 'mill' per se, but can deck an opponent slowly. I know blue-black is the primary mill color combination but, without resorting to artifacts and mana ramp (cheating being an actual Naya mill) what cards can I use to mill my opponent?
To clarify, as I'm not too concerned with the viability of this deck; any cards with Naya color identity (or cards that are not blue/black but are not simple mana dump mill artificats) that mill (green in particular) will do. So long as they remove cards from my opponent's library. I'm also wondering if anyone else has attempted to brew this sort of deck in the past and found any tricks/combos to do so.
Lastly, if this is more viable a strat in legacy or EDH, just let me know.
I was intrigued by the idea, so I went looking for a bit. Unfortunately I don't know that there's a whole lot to be found, its kinda like trying to play a burn deck without using red. You'd probably want to look for it in legacy/EDH just because of the increased card pool. The closest thing in Modern would be something like Lantern Control, which uses artifacts to do the milling, and has U/B for non-milling cards.
But for Naya, here's kinda what I found that does any sort of milling/removing cards from the opponents deck:
Red - Mostly stuff like Wheel of Fortune and derivatives. Also a few things like Indomitable Creativity style polymorph, but that can backfire in the same way.
Green - Lots of self-mill for graveyard stuff, but not much towards other players. Some stuff like Rites of Flourishing and Selvala, Explorer Returned that are again symmetrical and give your opponent resources.
White - Ummmm. I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting, but I can't really think of any white mill cards. All I could come up with were things like Scour (which is actually kind of a Naya cycle) or Settle the Wreckage but those are dependent on the opponent's deck cooperating.
Ultimately there's not much to close the deal and make sure your opponent decks before you do, while generally helping them out along the way. Maybe there's some obscure mechanic from one of the colors somewhere out there, but I couldn't remember anything that wound up fitting.
Also, here's a list of some other random cards I found that might give you some inspiration:
Thanks for the suggestions! Nature's Resurgence seems very interesting (and potentially the most powerful 'mill' but is quite situational. Binding of the titans seems the most helpful for my purposes. I'm still on the look on gatherer for any relevant cards and so far haven't found any. I thought there would be some synergy between whites (and Old-Growth Dryads, but with the 'may' clause that ruins it.) ability to rip lands from your opponent's deck and green (or even red like Geomancer's Gambit or Cleansing Wildfire) but haven't really found any. Maybe searching for use of the words 'Graveyard' and 'Library' arent good enough as there are effects that exile/reveal cards similarly.
Is there some card or effect that can mill an opponent based on how much you mill also? Id have probably heard of it by now but it could be that I'm not thinking of it in this context.
If the card mills my opponent and myself, so long as I don't get decked first I consider that a win. In the meanwhile, I will keep combing through as many cards as possible (prioritizing modern card pools first).
