2-0 vs Dredge
His deck did absolutely nothing. He mulls to 4 G1 and to 5 G2 and it was easy to assemble the kill.
2-1 vs Bant Eldrazi
G1 he had T4 TKS and saw Titan, Shift, Shift with 6 lands on the battlefield. Took Titan and lost to Shift.
G2 he started with Leyline and had aggression to give me no time to search for Claim.
G3 no Leyline and Courser did a lot of work finding lands. Got a Titan that sealed the game.
2-1 vs Naya Allies
G1 mull to 6 and decided to keep 2 mountains, 3 ramp, 1 Titan, since 1 green land would be ok. Found Anger on the scry but didn't have the 3rd land on my 3rd turn. Drew it in the 4th turn but it was too late.
G2 Anger + Fog and Scapeshift kill
G3 had Bolt, Anger and Fog and Titan finished the game
1-2 vs Jeskai Ascendancy
G1 he goes off 1 turn before I could kill him
G2 he got a slow hand and I go off 1 turn before he could combo
G3 he had Swan Song for my Claim and then he comboe'd off.
Ascendancy felt like a really bad match. He is faster than our deck and has tons of cantrips to find what he needs. I felt there's not much that I could have done. Maybe if I had Chalices on the board it would be easier (Chalice for 1 or 2 is really bad for them).
Well im going to play my first RPTQ and really want to be playing thia deck, so today i started the IRL testing.
Play the same main as Tse deck, the sb was a little different:
4 Baloth
2 Ancient Grudge
1 Anger of the Gods
1 Spellskits
1 Sudden Shock
2 Chalice of the Void
2 Engineered Explosives
2 Grafdigger's Cage
R1: Lost 1-2 against Grixis Suicide
I won G1, but got very weird hands G2 and G3. On his second turn G2 he plays a Tasigur, the Death Shadow and combo really quickly. G3 was more of the same, but he played some key discard (never drew a single Chalice).
R2: Won 2-1 the mirror (he was playing Through the Breach).
G1 On the play, i was needing any ramp spell to play my titan early, and when i played it, he scapeshifted me on his turn.
G2 he plays Slaughter Game naming Titan, i've got Scapeshift in hand so GG.
G3 he kept a really bad hand, was force to play Pact just to grab a STE (screwed by mana screw), so won easily.
R3 Lost 0-2 to Eldrazi Tron.
G1 i mulliganed to six, then he went something like this: T2 Thought Not Seer (as known as TNS), T3 TNS, T4 Conduit to Ruin searching for his pal Ulamog, T5 TNS, T6 Ulamog. Whenever i drew the combo, Scapeahift or Titan), wasnt able to cast it on my turn and during his, it was removed fron the game. Also, i was on the draw and the first TNS remove 1 of my Sakura. When i played the 2nd, he plays Pithing needle...omfg.
G2 i mulliganed again, then he went like this: T3 TNS, T4 Conduito to Ruib, T5 TNS and that was gg.
R4: won 2-1 against abzan company (i think). Not much to say here, lost G1 due to mana screw the won easily G2 and 3.
Maybe next time will change some sideboard cards, really like the main as it is right now, but i can hear some opinions:)
has 2 spellskite in the main. spellskite can do a lot, but I feel like occupies his decks flex spots for the main. flex spots where i've seen other plays add in everything from relic of progenitus, to extra boardwipe to extra win cons.
Hey guys, is it viable to run a 'budget' list without the scapeshifts and then slowly purchase them? I just sort of realized I almost have all the cards to build this deck, minus scapeshift which is a bit pricey.
You could try it by maxing out on summoners pact and maybe then adding a couple of Primal commands. At that point, you would want to minimize your basic forests to 2 (blood moon) and maximize stomping grounds/cinder glades. You might could consider running some number of Inferno titans instead.
Although, not having scapeshift really shuts down your ability to just win games on the spot which is really valuable. It also really weakens you to creature removal which hurts a bit. I think it is worth a shot if you are actively getting the scapeshifts to put the deck fully together and understand that you will lose games because of not having them. But it will probably still be functional and fun.

Did he name Sakura for the pithing needle? If he name sakura and you already had STE in play, you could actually sacifice sakura-tribe elder first and grab a land before the pithing needle resolved.

I do sacrificed it, but that gave him the opportunity to hit he with the Though Not Seer :/
Playing in GP DFW this weekend, and finalizing my exact 75. I'm 99% where I want to be and just wanted to know a few things about the final spots. So help me finalize the 75, please.
Four final spots
Main: 1 Courser or 4th Explore?
Main: Stomping Ground / Cinder Glade split, and why? (I'm thinking 3/3.)
Side: Thrun and Melira, or 2 Chalice of the Void? (or a mixture? And if Chalice, why exactly? What match-ups?)
Side: 1 Grudge and 2 Sudden Shock, or the reverse (2 Grudge, 1 Sudden Shock)?
4 Explore, 3/3 Stomp'/Cinder (it is important to have untapped lands in the early turns)
Side : 2 Chalice of the Void for sure ! they saved me so many times ! (vs affinity, boogles, grixis/UR delver, burn, infect, zooicide, storm, etc) (I will always remember a game vs Burn or I had put a chalice at 1 and 2^^)
Melira is good for a GP meta (Probably many infect)
Not fan of Thrun in the current meta, maybe replaced with 1 Trinisphere or 4th Baloth.
what do you guys think of using atarka's command to replace cards like farseek, explore or even bolt?
Bad idea.
Atarka's doesn't kill creatures, which is the primary function of Bolt in this deck. The ramp mode is a bad explore, since it doesn't draw you a card and is a lot worse than Farseek, since you need to have the land in your hand (and sometimes you are just playing your land and missing the next turn's land drop, which is not something good).
4 Wooded Foothills
3 Windswept Heath
3 Cinder Glade
3 Stomping Ground
7 Mountain
3 Forest
4 Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle
Creatures (10)
4 Primeval Titan
4 Sakura-Tribe Elder
2 Obstinate Baloth
1 Courser of Kruphix
4 Search for Tomorrow
4 Farseek
2 Explore
4 Lightning Bolt
2 Anger of the Gods
4 Scapeshift
2 Summoner's Pact
2 Obstinate Baloth
3 Fog
3 Nature's Claim
1 Anger of the Gods
2 Sudden Shock
2 Crumble to Dust
2 Grafdigger's Cage

kind of thrown off by the 1 trinisphere in the sideboard.
off the top of my head might be good against ad nauseam deck, storm.
I think its too slow for putting a dent into burn, and infect. maybe i'm wrong?
Could be a nice tech.
Also, the guy that top4'd made a huge punt in his last game and literally gave his spot on the finals to Caleb Durwald.
