So i've tested Kitchen Finks Maindeck today for a couple of Matches.
Seems to be my new Pet-Card for now...until i got blessed with greater wisdom
Edit:
The great Woo-Wizard had given some thoughts to Finks a couple of years ago: 3 Kitchen Finks Sideboard
Right now i'm thinking of cutting a faerie macabre (it's mediocre in the actual Meta) and therefore
replace it with a 2nd Copy of Finks. Keep you updated guys
Hey Guys, I've been having some success with Lantern Scout as the main life gain - side board option for living end. Kitchen Finks does seem oddly Ok or the older spike feeder, Which if we are strictly talking about Life gain has the edge. Since the addition of the "no life gain" on atarka's command i've found that we need that 6 + life in order to sustain their burn pressure and slamming Lantern scout after a Living End is pretty much a auto-scoop. There are some draw backs , casting cost, only gives life link when ETB, doesn't Cycle, redundant with no other creatures on board, you cannot respond to Anti-Life Link or Burn spells. Anyone else try him out?
Hi there. Living end has been my modern deck for about two years now since I returned to magic and joined the competitive scene. It's been a slow and steady process buying and trading for more expensive cards like fetches and fulminators. Money is finally no longer an issue for me so I want to spiffy the deck up even more. This is the current mana base.
The high number of basics are meant to stave off blood moon blow outs since I always fetch basics first unless I NEED a shock on T1/T2, and ensure I can always grab a land off path. I've never had an issue with not having the correct colors. (a few times I simply didn't draw enough lands, but what can you really do about that?)
Would it be worth it to invest in fast lands and replace some fetches with Verdant catacombs? My old game store was a Hastings entertainment, which went out of business earlier this year, so I'll have to find a new store and a new unknown meta to jump into
Living End's weakness is burn or hyper aggro decks so fastlands are fairly important. Most lists run at least 6 and seeing lists with 8 is not uncommon. If you're that afraid of blood moon, you could include some more fetches but 8 is overkill. Also consider getting landcyclers like pale recluse that do a very good job against blood moon.
Treetop village is also a rather subpar land to have, if we were to play manlands (which we avoid for the most part save dryad arbor). there are better options such as raging ravine or even the new hissing quagmire could be more effective.
Dryad Arbor gives you a fetchable target for Demonic Dread if you're up against a deck with a very low creature count or an opponent who does not deploy creatures to not give you a target

Basically this. I actually think it's not super necessary to run right now, all things considered; the only reason I still have one in my list is because I see Bogles and Scapeshift in my meta with regularity.
not to be a jerk, but after 4 years i'm surprised dryad arbor causes people so much confusion. we seem to answer questions about it ever few months.
At least is not that simple to notice the interaction, or the fact that DD needs a target. My buddy used my LE deck one time cascading without a target all day and he's been playing for 15 years
Suggesting things under cmc 3 is what I really don't understand
I believe WoTC's new policy is to make sure that every color can enjoy the exciting gameplay mechanic of making undercosted dudes and then turning them sideways. Clearly the future of magic.

To offset the life loss from fetches and shocks I've MB a crypt incursion and gnaw to the bone. They have really helped.
In the SB I have included lost legacy,it has been a good budget replacement for extraction and is three mana. Beast within and fulminator mage are in SB, instead I've been going with the all in,cycle creatures as fast as I can idea to cascade big early.
Someone else posted the idea about more cycle rather than landcycle and it's been great, then I went all in and removed the mages and beasts. For the most part its faster and can suck up most damage and counterspells as well as grave hate before I can living end.IMO.
Sometimes I only get one or two creatures due to hate, and sometimes I'm forced to hardcast, but grinding out hasn't been that bad. However I've seen a ton of opponents misplays that have resulted in a win for me.
I am also testing without simians since I see a lot of builds not using them and being fine with it.
This is an interesting idea but my biggest issue is what cyclers do you use to replace those cards? I have trouble finding 1 mana cyclers to replace those with. I wont replace with a 2 mana cycler I would much rather have the beast withins and fulminators. The fulminators and beasts give us good game 1 against decks that normally would cause us problems. Tron for example you remove beast withins and fulminators and suddenly one of your better match up is now a difficult one.

Lost Legacy is a budget replacement for what extraction? Surgical? If you want a SB card against Dredge you should play Ravenous Trap, but is not that good against the other decks

4 mana is easily doable in this deck, even if you had to hard cast it.
not to be a jerk, but after 4 years i'm surprised dryad arbor causes people so much confusion. we seem to answer questions about it ever few months.
I can count the number of times I have actually used my arbors for DD on almost no hands, and I play LE exclusively when I do play modern. I've been thinking about cutting it for some time and just never did, I may now.
THAT BEING SAID - I have not played modern in some time and I am going to an event this week with LE. Whats the meta look like right now? Even if LE is not a good choice i still plan on playing it, i just need to tweak it for what I suspect I will see.
lost legacy can take out collected company, lily, goyf, bolts, paths,REMAND,counters, any eldrazi, ugin and karn, etc.
Sure it can't hit artifacts or lands but it's the right mana cost so you don't cascade into it.Its not just graveyard hate,it has far more uses against almost every deck.
I like it so far, more so than beast within and fulminator MB.
I also didn't like cascading into the hate rather than LE.All personal preference though.
Do you feel the 1 mana less cost is worth it vs running Slaughter Games? Slaughter games is a bit slower, but I've had some success with it in the sideboard at times and being uncounterable was always nice against twin variants when those were around.

Cascading into hate is not that good, but can be done if you remove the LE in favor of really good hate cards. (Like Stony Silence, or Kor Firewalker). I would only do it in the Burn matchup
Sure, Lost Legacy can take all these cards but LoTV, Goyf, Bolt or Path are not troubles for Living End. Collected Company can be dealed as a whole, fighting the deck (not the card) with Anger of the Gods. Eldrazi should be an easy matchup, and the deck has 8 LD spells against Tron, with SSG.
Keep it mind that against Dredge, is only GY hate if they have the right creature in the GY at the moment you cast Lost Legacy. It doesn't help when you are facing creature beatdown. One could say is good when you are in good shape, bad when you are in danger. Also, taking only 1 type of creature from Dredge is not going to be game, for sure. Again, Anger of the Gods helps here.
It has a lot of good applications, though. Can take Scapeshift, something from Ad Nauseam, Primeval Titan, or even the big spells from Tron as you mentioned (if I have LL I would SB it vs Tron, but I wouldn't run it just for that matchup).

I have not played in some time so this deck may be far from fine tuned.
R1 - Blue white control
Went 2-1 against him as my opening game was very slow and I drew into 2 of my living ends. Games 2 and 3 were much better and just saw me hitting my land destruction and cyclers in better order.
R2 - R/U Snapcaster something or other
I have no idea what this deck was. Probably delver because I saw a lot of red aggro stuff. Game 1 I mull to 6 and scry away a living end on the top. My opening hand was risky, I kept 3 Street wraiths, SSG, Jungle Weaver, and Demonic dread. I got a land off the 3rd wraith and then cycled a minotaur I drew into another. Turn 2 I SSGed a Fulminator mage into my opponents shock land and turn 3 pulled out a living end while they were only on 1 land. The second game I think I made my opponent a bit salty. He had me on one life with a swiftspear and a Goblin guide on board. The GG had been feeding me the whole game, and as a result I was ending my turns with 8 in hand and being enabled to drop Weavers into the yard for free. He attacks for lethal with all his mana open. I violent outburst and just tell him if he can show me a counter he wins. He shows me a snapcaster and proceeds to try and scoop cards up and I stop him. I make him cast the snapcaster and then while its targeting is on the stack I double Faerie Macabre to remove his yard. His board gets wiped and I have like 30 power.
R3 - Merfolk
Game one I win handily. Game 2 he lands relic of progenitus and I did not side in artifact hate and fail to work around it. Game 3 he opens with an aether vial and on my turn 2 I ingot chewer it. He does not see land after that and I walk all over him.
R4 - Spirits
Game 2 I lost to him just getting proper tempo. Game 1 and 3 I win both off being able to cascade at EOT into a demonic dread on my turn, with the help of SSG both times. In game 3 he landed a pair of drogskol captains and like an idiot I give him a token with my forbidden orchard, forgetting its a spirit and gets hexproof. Luckily I am able to beast within a land and then demonic dread off that. Deadshots also are able to kill his returning spirits off the living end, which made me feel good.
Overall a very good event for me, though, almost every person asked me why I didn't just play dredge, which I did not know was a deck in the format as I have been away for some time. Is that deck really so much better as to make it so that I shouldn't be playing LE?

If someone saw me playing LE and insinuated that I should be playing Dredge instead, I'd have to suppress the urge to just drop them with a left.
