Why haven't i seen a single mention of Thragtusk or Geralf's Messanger? The BBB is a little hard, but Modern Jund is mostly B. Maybe 2x-3x?
My Current Deck:
4x Deathrite Shaman
4x Kitchen Finks
3x Geralf's Messanger
4x Bloodbraid Elf
2x Olivia Voldaren
2x Thragtusk
4x Duress
3x Dreadbore/4x Terminate
4x Lightning Bolt
3x Liliana of the Veil
+25 Landbase of Marsh Flats/Arid Mesa, Verdant Catacombs, Raging Ravine, Blackcleave Cliffs, and 1x of Rakdos, Golgari, and Gruul Fetchlands.
Total of 57. 3x Abrupt Decay? I think Eternal Witness is a good one-of considering how many ETB effects this deck has. Any thoughts?

Maybe you could split Abrupt Decay over Maelstrom Pulse, or vice versa, maybe a 2-1 or 1-2. Abrupt Decay is great for being an instant and uncounterable against control and tempo that has countermagic. But Maelstrom Pulse has a wider range than Abrupt Decay for it can hit 4+CMC nonland permanents, sorcery speed and higher cost is its drawback.
And about Thragtusk, it depends, it is easy to play so you can actually run him as your top curve aside Bloodbraid Elf. BUT IMO, don't run it alongside with Dark Confidant, if you would play/have him. Mainly because of Thragtusk's CMC. I think maybe you just run Batterskull rather than Thragtusk if pairing with Dark Confidant.

I definately wontbe using dark confidants though, I might take 1 Thragtusk out for a Batterskull. And to fill the spot ill do 1x Eternal Witness, 2x Abrupt Decay, and Maelstrom Pulse in the sideboard.
Splitting the two kinds of spot discards will increase your chance of nabbing the right cards in the opponents' hands. IMO, a full playset of Duress is okay, but there are decks that running few non-creature spells, like Zoo and Pod Variants. And IMO, there are many +4cmc permanents in Modern (i.e.: Birthing Pod, Wurmcoil Engine, Elspeth, Knight Errant) which Adrupt Decay can't deal with them. A single Maelstrom Pulse in the maindeck could work on that.
Currently looking at building an Aggro Loam/Pox- style deck in Jund colors. As a Goyf replacement, is Skinshifter, Quirion Dryad, or Putrid Leech the best? This may not seem like the appropriate thread, but the build is relatively similar to many Jund lists, except for running Loam, Smallpox, a number of Retrace cards, and Bloodghast.
WOW, it's a nice deck. Yours is almost the same as mine. But the Mana Base is pretty different. Maybe you could just cut -2 Overgrown Tombs and -2 Blood Crypts to +1/2 Forest, +1/2 Swamp and maybe(preferrably) an additional Verdant Catacombs. The deck seems too suicidal because of shocklands. Cut few Copperline Gorges, and try to insert few Raging Ravines or additional Treetop Village. They are cheap in these days so you could acquire them easily.
what are thoughts on the new planeswalker who puts creatures in hand and ultimate pumps the big? 1colorless and GR. 3 drop seems great cost and very bob ish. Any thoughts? Also thoughts on deathrite shaman? With no goyf we don't have to worry bout graveyard cards

I doubt it will be considered "budget" by most people's estimation.
At least some of the budget Jund lists in this thread have Huntmasters, Lilianas, and Verdant Catacombs. I just assume only cards that cost $50-$100 are off-limits.
I just realised...Dark Confidant is was gives Jund the card advantage, however no one is trying to add some card advantage cards in. Thinking about Dark Tutalege? The one-more-mana Bob? Dont bother; If your gonna spend three mana on card advantage, spend it well.
BTW, im trying to analyse Geralf's Messenger Vs Kitchen Finks. GM Advantages: Undying (vs Persist) Disadvantages: Hard to cast, BBB, and ETB Tapped. KF Advantages: Easier to cast Disadvantages: Persist (Vs undying). Both give you a 2 life advantage over your opponent, however i think that an opponent losing life is better than you gaining life, considering im running Thragtusk/Batterskull in my deck. Thoughts?
I had a very sucesful budget jund deck, and I won allot of cards with it. Recently with all the jund hype ive traded it for a delver blade deck to combat jund. It is possible to make a good budget deck that will be good in the mirror. The trick is using 4 deathright shamans, and continuing the curve. Regular jund curves at bbe, with a budget deck you need to do two thragtuks and a wurmcoil. Or two batterskulls and a wurmcoil. This will give you the edge without using goyf. Curving higher will give you advantages in the mirror.
I've heard people talking about lingering souls seems descent but is it worth the white added?
As a person who is usually on the recieveing end of this deck I can tell you unequivicably that it is worth it. It give the deck so much staying power it is kinda disgusting. I raged about it when I first saw it, but I was wrong wrong wrong.
Lingering souls is an amazing overall card, and is relatively easy to cast, but i prefer not to play it because it just doesn't feel right. Im one of those guys who sometimes doesn't play certain cards because of their art. Reciprocate, for example. I think its better than Swords to Plowshares AND Path to Exile, but because of the art it just didn't make my Modern Mono-White Midrange deck. But lets not get off topic. Im still trying to find card advantage replacements for Bob. There's Phyrexian Arena, but what about Sign In Blood or Night's Whisper as one-of maybe even in the Mainboard? Without Bob we can play Thragtusk/Wurmcoil/Batterskull, so its basically two draw for two CMC. Thoughts?
Oh and if anyone saw my post as potentianlly putting Eternal Witness as a one-of in the MB (like theguy above), i just realised Treasured Find is a much better replacenent, it allows you to play any one drops in addition to it and its cheaper (CMC wise and Money wise).
I definetly would tell you to stick with phyrexian arena. It lasts longer and has more benefits in the long run. And if you play fetchlands and deathrite shaman you could get it out on turn 2, same as bob, and not be far behind the race, except its not a creature
How about Appetite For Brains for discard? Thoughtseize is too expensive, and Duress/Despise don't hit everything. Its basically the opposite of Inquisition of Kozilek, except it exiles instead of discards. If your running 5-6 discard spells, I suggest 3x Inquisition of Kozilek and 2/3x Appetite for Brains. I hate the name, though.
yeah, appetite is a great substitute. the exile effect is perfect and between duress and appetite, pending on which you sideboard or mainboard for certain decks, we should be able to bypass thoughtseize as much as we can.
food for thought: with modern becoming a part of fnm, if it doesn't become banned(unlikely) the price will shoot up more than now i would expect.
