i honestly have no clue how this deck finds tron........or singleton bog. the only one is titan....
The deck doesn't really care about Tron, it either sends Emrakul in via Through the Breach or just ramps into titans to pump out tron/eye. Same with bojuka bog, titan can fetch it so its just a toolbox of sorts.
From the kid's list I replaced 3 Explores with a Reap and Sow, Forest, and Ghost Quarter. The reap and quarter were a metagame call against more tron decks. The ghost quarter ended up working really well cause I could search it up in a pinch to deal with man-lands or opposing tron pieces. The forest helped a lot since path/ghost quarter on my stuff let me get a free land into play. It also help slightly against blood moon.
Having two extra lands was a very big deal. Many times before I had a one land hand and couldn't keep. But if i had a second it would be just perfect. The deck wants more lands.
Surgical in the board was very effective against opposing tron players, gifts/iona package, and melira/hulk combo.
Grats on the win, can you summarize what decks you ran in to? Your deck looks pretty much like the stock version, I fully agree that ~20 lands is the sweetspot for this deck. 18 causes too many mulls.
I played the online PTQ today and started off 3-1 then lost 4 in a row, more or less a standard version with 3x Firespout and Sundering Titan main. Silly me, I didn't see the PTQ list that took first yesterday with the 4x Pyroclasm, Oblivion Stone, and 4x Relic of Progenitus all in the mainboard. I put that list together now and am doing some testing with it, the Pyroclasm and Relic's main are a pretty sounds idea imo, and worthy of exchanging the Mindslavers for.
very interesting MTGO PTQ list
i'm surprised he decided to get rid off the mindslaver.
i'm winning 1/3 of my game on mindslaver lock 1/3 on emrakul and 1/3 on karn...
but what i like is that without the mindslaver he can avoid to play the prism that he replace with relic (!!) that does the same job of drawing a card for 2 + bonus.
interestingly enough he also get rid off the talisman and replace it with 4 explore, since he has 1 more land than the usual list this is maybe not that bad, although i found explore quite underwhelming in general.
Well this list is quite tempting i have to say. not sure what's the best version

this version fight for RUG Delver so well.
karn is so strong alone without mindslaver help.
increase the creature removal and graveyard removal in the maindeck.
Maybe, but i'm more afraid by the consistency of threat we have (we reduce it by 30%: original: 1wurcoil + 1emrakul + 4karn +4mindlsaver. "new"wurmcoil + ulamog+ emrakul + 4 karn.
I have done 2 PTQ this season so far, and i believe my wins are 1/3 karn, 1/3 emrakul and 1/3 mindslaver/mindslaver lock
However i like what he is trying to do with this new version, as you said with more control. mindslaver is maybe overated...
i should think what are the pro and cons of each version and decide which one to play next
i played a version with slavers, karns, 18 land count, 3 firesprout main, no explores and sadly no sunderings a few days ago in my local.. got crushed by Twin and Jund. Slaver did wonders for me but i'm not really sure of how much is needed. I love it, but did nothing for me in the Jund match, and :o:o:o against PIF. I'm thinking on switching to the Breach version.. maybe a hybrid? really like this deck but feel kindda lost..

What does :o:o:o against UR Storm mean? Does that mean it was terrible or it was awesome? Slaver can be a little slow against UR Storm, but if you manage to crack it once (it's possible on Turn 4 on the play--assemble Tron by Turn 3 and cast Slaver then, crack it on Turn 4), you can absolutely wreck them. Either cast all their rituals into nothing (if you're not good at Storm), or go through all the Storm motions and kill them with their own Grapeshot (if you're good at Storm).
Yes, Slaver can often be a 10-mana Time Walk and not a 10-mana source of immense card advantage (oh, the hilarity when you can use Liliana of the Veil's ultimate). I find that you should run 3+ Slavers or none in this deck--3+ Time Walks in a deck have a certain gestalt synergy that 1 expensive Time Walk does not have.
it was full of awesomeness.. i shot him with his own gun.
Blue decks are a pain until you defense grid'em. Twin is faster, so i'm playing sundering to stall them, but i'm still no sure about somethings..
i AM playing with that "base" someone posted but the 'inbetween-cards' are the ones i'm struggling with. Maybe playing 3 Karn, 3 slavers, 1 Emrakul/Wurm/Sundering?
i didn't quite get what u where trying to say, but sounded like this deck may have problems against land destruction/denial, which is true.. fulminator/edge/quarter are a pain.. i play 2 crucible of worlds for that. Mirror? not a problem yet, and i mean, you wouldn't play a deck based on the mirror? lame-o..
Anyong coming up with a good solution for Burn/RDW aggro?
So far all i can do in that match up is baloth, backed by firespouts and hope for a quick emerakul. if you can baloth turn 3 emerakul turn 4 you win. also landing a wurm coil early is huge. but other then that not much going.
I don't see how you can Baloth on T3 without a very lucky hand including Explore or Wall of Roots. Generally you have tron or you have 1G plus 2, neither of which gets you GG2.
Emrakul can't come out on T4 either...at best you have Wurmcoil in hand and can hit Tron on T3. We need some answers that are available turns 2-3 and maybe 4. Generally on their T4 you are dead.
Wish we had a reliable way to play Timely Reinforcements.
Hmm.. Rest for the Weary is interesting. Thoughts on the best way to have 1 white mana on the first couple turns? Chromatic would probably work most of the time, but I figure at least one land is needed that you could search for, maybe just a Tendo Ice Bridge or something. City of Brass kind of defeats the point...
Anyone thought of or tried spine of ish sah and/or Krark-clan ironworks? 7 seems to be the magic number, plus with an ironworks, you can keep casting it for 5. Getting both out is basically a lock.

we play talismans and chromatics, its not hard to have 2GG on turn 3. and its easy to turn 4 through the breach. if your playing through the breach and your goal is tron in this match ups your playing it wrong. The match up isnt easy but it isnt as dire as your making it out to be.

it is the engine to make 3rd turns to get 7 mana to play karn.
when cloudpost still not ban, it is hardly to get 7 mana in the 3rd turns.
well, new versions has add 1 or 2 mindlsaver now

Also, "Tron: Legacy Weapon" is the best possible name for this deck.
