I think I want to test Rancor in this list because T1 Guide w/ T2 Rancor followed by another Guide is stone-cold beats. My loss was 1-2 to BR Burn(all 3 games were super close). I have beaten one home brew R/W lifegain deck, Valakut/Scapeshift, U/R Delver, and 2 Pod decks.
I wouldnt run it *exactly* as he has, but it is pretty good. I think this sort of relentlessly aggressive deck is actually pretty well positioned in modern at the moment Besides, you're running BBE and Molten Rain, could things can always happen.
I do think the mana curve needs a bit of work, and that running that many high cost creatures is a little too greedy, but conceptually, the deck is pretty sweet.

I agree; in testing you're screwed if you don't hit Figure of Destiny quick. Perhaps Vexing Shusher to in place of Volcanic Fallout? To push through Bloodbraid Elf. I don't think the deck is particularly built to take advantage of Tarmogoyf's abilities, and BBE seems like a central card to the strategy.
The use of Hellrider is my favorite aspect of the deck.
I've been trying this main deck for a few days now (I know, talk about extensive testing!). So far I've had great results, but they were Cockatrice games, so take them with a grain of salt, I guess.
I decided to cut goyf because while he's clearly good, I don't think he's AS good in a deck with so few card types. Also, I'm trying to aim for a somewhat "hasted" kill. This may end up changing as like I said, he's clearly good.
@ Shadows....that looks REALLY good actually. I am not going to say anything right now, but I am going to actually consider some modifications to that deck for an upcoming PTQ. WIthout sound like a complete jerk, I think some of the selections are sub-optimal, but the actual concept looks very good. Very, very good.
I will let you know what I come up with

Thank you for the kind words sir! I would definitely appreciate your ideas and whatnot. Truthfully, after a bit more testing earlier tonight, I'm considering adding goyf back in, as well as making a few other changes.
I'd like to know what you find to be sub-optimal (personally, I've found Groundbreaker and Incinerate to be sorta bad). Hell's Thunder has been amazing so far, I might bump him to 4.
Obviously my plan is kill the opponent ASAP, but the ability to free-cast him off BBE, combined with the possibilities of finishing the opponent off via unearthing has been great thus far.
As I said, let me know what you come up with - I really look forward to it!
P.S. I apologize for not using tags when mentioning the above cards. It's a bit late and I'm ready for bed; Truthfully I'm feeling a bit too lazy to add the tags (yet I decided I'm not lazy enough to avoid typing this little tidbit. Interesting).
Long time MTG player here but just getting started on the forums.
Just wanted to share my Modern R/G Aggro build. I'm still relatively new to tournaments in general, so this has only been tested at my LGS for their weekly Modern tourneys, but I really love it so far and it has proven solid against a lot of the meta I face. I'm still learning to play better against people who have been playing competetively for years, but this deck has proven solid and well-matched most of the time.
Now, I know there's got to be a more streamlined sideboard for this. I've done my best but the truth is I'm not well-versed in Modern sideboard options (yet, I'm learning) and the only things I ever find myself really using are the Thruns and the Beast Withins, good for beating Control and getting rid of pesky Elesh Norns and what have you. Is Dismember a good option for this deck? Am I missing any good stuff mainboard?
The Mod is right; Burning-Tree Shaman is good in this deck. You might even consider Pit Fight for removal if you're running sturdier creatures like Tarmogoyf,Flinthoof Boar or Stormblood Berserker. The Berserker surprised me, but it has shown up in many Gruul-based Zoo builds lately.
During Alara/Zen standard there was a really sweet budget deck centered around Blood-braid and violent outburst, every other card in the deck cost 2 or less and had haste or was lightning bolt.
BBE is obviously out, but outburst could be pretty awesome as a curve topper in a hyper aggro list. It seems sweet with emmisary too.
Technically he can string out Boars, more BTE, or if the grave is full, Goyf. However, I would recommend he look into Stormblood Berserker. Its seeing play in plenty of Modern Gruul decks and is a good creature.
