Ritual Gifts has been around for a long time and both the thread and the deck have gone through a lot of changes. Now, with DRS banned and the metagame taking new form, it's a great time to check out the deck again. On top of that, AlleywayJack has done a great job of rewriting the primer and putting in a ton of time and effort into the new piece, which weighed heavily in favor of the deck's Feature status for the month.
Thanks to everyone else who applied. Don't forget that you can keep applying for future months, even with the same decks. Excited to see what new brews May brings us!
Because a combo engine that protects itself screams "break me". The basic premise of the deck is to cast Possibility Storm followed by one, sigular tiny creature such as Omnithopter, with your only other creatures being flying spaghetti game winners. And note the Possibility Storm says "cast," which few (if any) decks beyond Tron can claim to do. And the deck can be twisted to work with other finishers as well - some not necessarily of the creature variety. I think the deck still has a lot of room for development, despite having been silent for a while. I think it could claw its way up to and beyond Ad Nauseam power levels, since your combo engine can't really be disrupted, and doesn't put you in a similarly disadvantageous position.
Whoa! No new applications?? I know that there are a ton of decks in Creation that could use some sticky status to promote their discussion! So send in your submissions before the end of the month.
Bant Choke is a control deck that that focuses on land denial and disruption instead of permission based spells to control our opponent and their board state. The deck uses cards like Sea’s Claim, Mind Bend and Spreading Seas to disrupt greedy mana bases and eventually tie down out opponents lands with Choke. Once the deck chokes out our opponent, it grinds out a win with resilient noncreature beaters. I believe Bant Choke would be a great candidate as a featured deck because I feel that the meta is currently lacking control decks, especially ones that are not based around counters. This deck is a custom build of mine that I am growing fond of. It has many powerful and unique interactions and I feel with the help of the community it can become a formidable threat against many staple Modern decks (many of the best decks run very complicated mana bases that would be dramatically hindered if their mana bases were disrupted).
Application for Featured Thread-Living End Reanimator
(it would need a name change if it was featured because it is mostly used for talking about the Breaking Bad version now)
Have you ever wished that Modern had a consistent reanimator deck? Well here it is. This combo deck gets cards into the graveyard using discard and Breaking // Entering abuses the cascade mechanic to either cascade into the Entering side of Breaking // Entering and reanimate a large creature with haste or in some cases cascade into Living End and reanimate your whole graveyard. This deck is fast, consistently reanimates on turns 3-4, and crushes a large portion of the top decks of the format. The best part is that now that Deathrite Shaman is banned, this deck is in the right position to crush the Modern meta.
This deck has been on the forum for a little bit and seen a bunch of activity in the thread. But the reason it's getting coverage now is because it has recently placed in a Modern Premier and in a Modern Daily! That's exciting news for brewers who are interested in the deck. The deck is also packed with interesting interactions and is a great addition to the format.
Thanks to all those who applied this month! Keep on applying if your thread hasn't been featured and feel free to nominate new ones.

This deck is a crazy sweet reimagining of the Flash Hulk decks of old, but retooled for use in Modern. There was a Hulk deck running around a while back that used Through the Breach as an enabler, but with the banning of Seething Song, you can count that as just another causality to (IMO) unjust bannings. This version runs a "reanimator" strategy, and uses Footsteps of the Goryo to set up the Hulk combo. By reanimating Hulk with Footsteps of the Goryo, you initiate the game winning combo, that wins with infinite damage, by cycling Mogg Fanatic and Reveillark/ Body Double until your opponent has been slayed.
The deck is crazy fun, although it is susceptible to a few different kinda of hate. I think there is a fairly competitive deck in here somewhere though, we just gotta get some more people playing it, and brewing on it.
If your interested in wild combos, i would definitely give Goryo Hulk a look, as it's easily one of the more fun and interesting decks i've had the pleasure of playing.
If I post this enough times it will eventually become the featured thread

One of the most powerful cards in the history of magic has always been the formidable Time Walk. The ability to manipulate the way that turns are taken gives you the potential to really take the advantage in the game. Add that to a turbo-fog engine (Howling Mine / Dictate of Kruphix) and you develop a massive card advantage while your opponent just sits there and watches you win the game... unable to do anything. The nice thing about this is the fact that your engine becomes your win condition (either with attacking with critters or drawing them out of their deck).

Around 2 years ago, before Return to Ravnica empowered Jund, URx Delver decks were among the best decks in the format. Among those decks was WUR Delver. When Return to Ravnica came out, the combined power of Deathrite Shaman and Abrupt Decay caused WUR Delver to disappear. However, with the 2 most problematic cards in BGx for WUR Delver (Deathrite Shaman and Bloodbraid Elf) both gone, it is time for WUR Delver to make a comeback into Modern. Unlike the more popular UR and RUG Delver decks, WUR Delver has access to Geist of Saint Traft, giving us a beater that no common removal spell can take care of. Add that to Path to Exile to take care of large threats, Lightning Helix to win races, and a plethora of strong sideboard cards (including the Gifts Ungiven/Unburial Rites combo) and it is safe to say that WUR Delver is ready to return to the forefront of Delver decks.
I would like to withdraw my application for Living End Reanimator. Me nominating it decreases the likelyhood for WUR Delver to be chosen and I think that there is much more room for discussion in WUR Delver.
This deck is a really interesting spin on the traditional UR Delver, and RUG Delver, decks that many of us are familiar with. It has cool synergies, an active discussion that would love more attention, and even some tournament success over the past few months. Definitely an archetype to be on the lookout for, and that's why we are giving it Feature status for 8/2014.
Esper Zur pack a heavy disruption package through discards spells, meddling mage and/or tidehollow sculler. Add Geist of Saint Traft for a bigger punch and yours truly, Zur the Enchanter for some very good utility with its enchantments. It also has a solid SB because of its colors and Zur being able to "draw" most of your silver bullets more consistently

It's almost the end of the month, so new feature threads are on the horizon. I see a number of decks on the first page alone that could use a nomination.
Also, on a related note, the Deck Creation reorganization is happening as part of the general 9/22 modern subforum update. So there will be new decks stickied and a new, clearer policy for what gets a deck stickied. Feel free to nominate threads anyway!

I was hoping it would get a sticky, especially since it has shown results in at least two large events already. This is fantastic!
