But seriously I'd be quite surprised if we see any substantial changes. If anything goes this time around I'm inclined to say it would be Simian Spirit Guide. Mana monkey does seem to crop up in the "broken" decks a lot, that said, I don't think it (or anything else) is so dominant that we'll see a ban. On the unbans front, I wouldn't be totally stunned to see more unbans like Jace to continue pushing control, I just think it is very unlikely.

Yes, we gotta kick combo down even more because there just aren't enough aggro decks in the format. </sarcasm>
I'm not saying it deserves a ban, I just think it is the card I'd be least surprised to see banned
Its a card frequently brought up, but in reality it has never done anything significant in the format. In reality, the fastest decks that have gotten banned have never utilized it
Format will retain its linear-lean then. I don't think there is much in Kaladesh that will seriously slow down the format enough, or shake it up in any serious way.
Well, at least there wasn't a become immense ban. I was hoping for a preordain unban but I was likely not being realistic at all. Now we must pray that cathartic reunion doesn't break dredge in half.
Aaron Forsythe saw his shadow. Three more months of linearity.
Jund is the 1st deck, Abzan Midrange is getting more popular, Jeskai Control is tier 1, Bant Eldrazi is tier 1, Merfolks are tier 1, we have Grixis Delver as tier 2, Abzan Company at tier 1.5, Kiki Chord at tier 2, etc. Interaction is here. The format IS interactive.
I'll agree with most of that except you know, jeskai being tier 1. But hey live in the moment of 3 months ago.

Go look at the recent top 32 at the SCG Open. 1 Jund list and 2 Jeskai lists in a sea of linearity. Face the facts: the format is ultra linear right now.
Tiers indicate prevalence in the metagame, not tournament results or chances of success. People will stubbornly continue to play interactive decks like Jund in spite of the fact that they are not good choices for spiking an event.
Pretty happy Become Immense didn't get chopped. Not even an Infect player, just happy that Modern continues to be a synergy-driven format first and foremost even if it's somewhat linear in nature. Decks full of wonky 1/1's and bad spells that when combined are better than the sum of it's parts is what pushes out Midrange: the Tappening brainless grindfests like the poor fellows that play Standard have. I'd take a linear format over Standard Plus every time.
What disappoints me is the lack of explanation. Instead of just writing "no changes", how about explaining why? They do that when they ban or unban cards, but in some cases a lack of action should also be explained.

But we can cast turn 3 4/4s that happen to have a Thoughtseize attached to them and Merfolk occasionally runs counter spells in the board.

Oh, and Infect got some potential upgrades, and Dredge got definite upgrades, so things will likely only get worse from here.
