This is the new deck that I have seen preform very well online and I love this deck
It's a very good deck and is still a working progress but seems to me the UW deck to play at the moment.

That doesn't look like a control deck to me. Isn't that a tempo deck with Remand in it and Geist?
Not sure if this is a control deck or a tempo deck it seems like something in between. I'm not entirely satisfied with it yet. I haven't finished a sideboard for it either.
My goal is to finish this deck+sideboard by the time paper modern season comes up. (If anyone actually knows when that is could you let me know or point me in the right direction?)
I actually just put in the metamorph because of problems with Thrun. But with metamorph i can copy stuff like snaps and then use restoration angel to blink it and then metamorph can copy a different target if i need to
Decks like this have been doing very well on MTGO if you look at the dailies. I would agree that it will probably not play out like some of the other Tempo decks but I also do not think it would play out like a control deck who's goal is to stall till late game and drop a fatty. As to suggestions I do not like the Phyrexian Metamorph. I think that would be better served as the 4th Snapcaster Mage. As for sideboard I would up Wrath of God to a 2 of if you are going to run any at all. Maybe up Negate to a two of as well. Have you look at Elspeth, Knight-Errant?

i guess. though i'm not sure the 2 more mana it takes to cast is worth the ability to blink it. i would assume that the first time you copy something with a clone effect is enough to set you up solidly to win the game.

I speak in sarcasm because calling people ******* ******** is not allowed.
because metmorph has at least a little synergy with angel, while image actually has negative synergy?
With metamorph I can copy something and then angel i can blink it and then copy something else that i need at that point or something more relevant.
Phantasmal image just gets sacrificed. Though I am going to put an image in the board just as a singleton so i can kill thruns and what not faster. But yes, the clones are to get rid of legendaries mainly thruns.
not sure if its better than a Delver deck but have to try it out
how're the kitchen finks doing for you? Right now my list is pretty much the same as yours except instead of the finks and 2 lands I have 4 serum visions
Well, i see your point, but the countermagic you play is a lot weaker, meaning you never want the game to last too long (lets be serious, remand on turn 6 doesnt do anything) and thats why to compensate, you apply early pressure and defense with cheap creatures like delver and geist.
I like tempo, its just that i prefer to have control of my opponents actions, and you only get that with hard counters.
On another note, i changed 4 hawks for 4 restoration angels, to see if the hype was justified.
And trust me, it is.
Edit: The more time passes, the more old caw-blade and the tempo U/w decks seem to fuse, making the borderline really blurry. Now they both play restoration angel, and the hawks/souls seem outdated.
I disagree. I do like Restoration Angel, but Sqwadron Hawk is def still good because it provides a cheap flier to carry swords, provides card avantage because it gets multiple copies of itself and is cheap enough to use as early chump blockers if need be (the fact it gets multiples of itself advances this strategy) or for multiple attackers. RAngel costs 4, can save stuff from removal, and flies with a butt of 4. Not bad at all, but not a replacement for Hawks, because they are functionally different.
The line between tempo/aggro is blurry. I dont care for Delver in U/W because its harder to flip consistently unless you build around it, whihc is why its better in RUG/America colors because of burn spells (which also provide reach).
I like counterspells, especially hard counters like Cryptic Command, but I think it needs supplements like Jace, and other late game bombs like Elspeth/Gideon so you have some late game power. I think Spell Snare/MLeaks/Cryptic is enough to get you to the mid-late stage where you want to be.
This is why I dont like Geist versons, because theyre shooting for early wins, which isnt really control. I prefer disruption on legs like Vendilion Clique, or with built in card advantage like SHawks/SCMages for value.
Vedalken Shackles is an amazing card. I'm not running it just because Im aiming to get planeswalkers online by the time Vedalken Shackles starts stealing dudes.
Ive also tested with Trinket Mage here and there. A toolbox of EExplosives/Relic/PNeedle is really good. Plus, I play ARuins for a little recusrsive power.
My biggest gripe in Modern is no good blue cantrips. SVisions sucks, so I rely on just raw draw power in Baby Jace and pseudo card advantage in Hawks/TMage/VClique/SCMage/Cryptics, which works fine. I really miss Ponder/Preordain though.
I'm liking this deck more and more, but I do wish I had that absurd clock that Delver of Secrets brings. I know he doesn't fit in this deck, but if we were were only a single turn faster I believe this deck would be the nuts, even over decks like caw blade(our parent deck).

When does lightning bolt kill Emrakul? When your opponent's at three.
Mainly just curious why no one loves Rune Snag, as it seems marginally better than mana leak?
Also, does Auger of Bolas deserve a nod?
IMO, Augur of Bolas definitely deserves to be in this slower deck. In Modern, he's about comparable to Tiago. Augur digs for spells early, and Tiago busts those spells late. Augur's a fantastic blocker, but Tiago is a trick-filled blocker and an actual clock. I'd rather have an opening hand with 3 Augur of Bolas than 3 Tiagos. It's true that Augur whiffs some of the time in a 18+ instant/sorcery deck, but Tiago can't always be a 3+ drop like he really wants to be, either (against hard control and fast combo, you need the clock, and sometimes, you just have to block a cocky Bob/Traft/Melira/unflipped Delver).
I also find that Augur and Tiago have comparable power in Legacy. Legacy may be a faster format, but Augur comes down sooner than Tiago, and he can dig for crucial spells and block significant guys.
It is in Vintage that Augur's unreliability hurts him more than his speed helps. Even in a 25-instant/sorcery deck, he still whiffs a surprisingly significant portion of the time. Due to Vintage's massive mana acceleration (Moxen, Black Lotus, etc.), Augur is only marginally (and insignificantly) faster than Tiago, and trying a countered Tinker again is often better than having a chance to dig for said Tinker. Augur also blocks Bob, Tiago, and Lotus Cobra fantastically, but his 1 power sucks otherwise (he can't kill Jace TMS faster than Jace can boost his loyalty). Augur is just plain worse than Tiago in Vintage.
Other than in Vintage, the fact that Augur of Bolas can actually hold a candle to Tiago is astounding. They both like to be blinked by Restoration Angel, they both like decks with lots of cheap instants/sorceries--heck, they both like to be in the same deck. Tiago's a better friend of tempo strategies because of his added power (so I wouldn't try Augur of Bolas in RUG Tempo Thresh, which needs the speed), but they love being in more controlling decks together.
In short, definitely try 4 Augur of Bolas. I know I am.
I really do like the restoration angel synergy with most cards in the deck, but i also like squadron hawks and the ability to apply sky pressure with swords and give you time through chump blocking. With that said i am planning to test without geist of saint traft maindeck to accomodate space.

I'm not sure about augur of bolas yet because although it lets you dig for a potential answer it's pretty slow. I think it more of something like a digger for a combo piece. Even then I don't think it's very good at all.
I did change my original deck however. I put in 2 kitchen finks and it, without a doubt, helps me survive just a little longer to pull through to those turn 5/6 restoration angel plays, blinking snapcaster and geist for those utility turns.
