Have anyone of you guys tested bitterblossom in the rock after it became legal again. It feels like a good card vs control that is that hard to remove given that it is an enchantment, tho this might have changed with the printing of assassin's trophy, even if it gets removed it still pumps tarmogoyf with +2/+2 so that could also be seen as an upside, any thoughts?

Even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die.
I played it a little in Jund side board, i think it is pretty good if you expect BGX, mardu, UWX control but that's not the case right now. Actually i want to test eternal witness in SB as a value card, it's better against death shadow by example imo.
I thought grixis death's shadow had problems with decks that go wide. Bitterblossom provides an endless stream of creatures with evasion that should be able to threaten lethal in most games, I suppose you still have to worry about Temur Battle Rage but that is usually only a 2-off.
I have been playing BW-midrange for a over two years (was playing abzan haakon loam before that), and it is very possible that my evaluation is screwed. I have been considering making a switch from BW to BG seeing as goyfs are at an all time low now, and I only need a play-set of goyfs to make the switch.

Much like every other modern deck, Bitterblossom is probably a little bit too slow. You have much better sideboard options (like Choke) if you are really having a control issue.

Grixis Shadow does board out TBR in removal heavy matchups, and therefore they will board them out against us. Bitterblossom can be very effective against Shadow for that reason. Its a nice card for the matchup.
As a side-board card it isn't an issue, but main-deck Bitterblossoms can be a liability. One of the fastest games I've ever won was against Faerie Tribal. I discarded his BB then he discarded my Liliana of the Veil. My turn-two Tarmogoyf was HUGE! The last game he played BB on turn-two and I played Last Hope turn-three. Even I felt bad for the guy. Well, only a little.
I am little bit surprised to see 2 kalitas in MD because i think America metagame was less aggro than Europe and MTGO. I just cut my second kalitas 1 week ago, now i want obviously put in back. I guess i will cut my 2nd liliana the last hope by the way.
Any thoughts on this list ? (7 discards and 3 push is strange if kalitas is great..)
@user-11102155 : i think it's a little bit too cut when opponent plays burn, dredge or phoenix (28% of Toronto day 2).
In general, i think c.brutality is better than wrench mind 90% of the time. bitterblossom may be good in a grindy/control metagame it's not the case now. Vraska is harder to judge for me, i will be not surprised if garruk relentless is better by example but vraska give us a unique effect, i guess it's nice if you expect any affinity deck, boggles, control or whir control.
Ps : i will go to play some modern side events in GP Strasbourg and go back to modern mtgo after the GP to train Bilbao. After i see Toronto decklists and metagame, i will play/test that :
vraska is not good. What archetypes do you want her against? How is she helping bad matches? Her card draw is at a serious early game disadvantage. You don't have expendable permanents. Yes against grindy she can be good late game but still, it still takes a stalled board for her to really shine. If she's just a t4 abrupt decay you can do so much better. Her ultimate isn't even a guaranteed win either.
The best way to sum up vraska is she doesn't even see play in standard...

@Akalah : Ugly sum-up, assassin's trophy is rarely play in sultai in standard and when it's play it's only 1 MD and sometimes 1 in SB so it's a bad card for modern ? By the way nissa, vital force was never played in standard so it's bad in modern i guess x) ?
I've played some games against big mana decks lately (mostly Amulet Titan & Scapeshift) but I'm having a hard time. Iknow that our deck struggle against these kind of decks but I would like to know how should I play/adapt when I face one, what are the tips to play against them.
Or just generally speaking, if you have any piece of advice, it would be appreciated ^^
here is my list :
24 LANDS
4 Blooming Marsh
3 Field of Ruin
3 Forest
2 Hissing Quagmire
2 Overgrown Tomb
4 Swamp
2 Treetop Village
4 Verdant Catacombs
15 CREATURES
4 Dark Confidant
1 Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet
3 Scavenging Ooze
4 Tarmogoyf
3 Tireless Tracker
I am currently 41-19 on MTGO Comp Leagues and lazy report of my last paper event :
Side Event MagicFest Strasbourg :
Burn 2-0
Red Phoenix 2-1
Goryo combo 0-2
Mardu 2-1
FrenzAffinity 1-2
BW Hatebears 2-0
Mardu 2-1
GR Drazi 2-1
Abzan Devoted Company 2-0
GW Tron 2-1
4C Saheli Combo 0-2
Bant Spirits 2-0
My points :
-liliana the last hope disappoint me a lot, it's insane 20% and average or very bad the reste of time but i have to keep at least 1.
-16 creatures is probably one too much for me but all lists are on 2 kalitas so i respect that guy but i will probably cut 1 kalitas or 1 tireless tracker and put in sideboard instead of eternal witness or kitchen finks or collective brutality.
-damnation is ok but less and less impressive, maybe 4th LotV against death shadow and unfair decks is far better, damnation is only really good against hollow one, it's not always good against GDS, humans or spirits.
-disfigure was very ok and the classic BGX is better with that kind of card (you increase your chances to do a good interaction t1 and then slam threat)
my experience regarding damnation mathces yours, its not very effective against spirits, they have wanderer, thalia, selfless, queller and also, vial, company and flash threats
If you expect a bunch of burn in your meta how do you adapt?
If I swap Bob's out for coursers/finks does it ruin what this deck is trying to do? I'm playing the basic version of the deck.
Thanks!

If one is going to dump [card-Dark Confidant]Bob[/card], I think one would have to substitute Grim Flayer. Tireless Tracker fans have a build with four of them but I wouldn't touch that your hands.
Courser of Kruphix or Kitchen Finks also balloon the curve so I wouldn't be interested in that either. A few three- and four-drops are all I'm going to run. One has to makes his money with the one- and two-drops or the archetype falls apart.
Feel free to dismiss these as incompetent ramblings. I won't be offended.
So I managed to finally get a full set of Goyfs, but money is a huge issue for me as a recent college grad. Is there any way to replace Lilianas & Bobs? Or is the deck not competitive enough without at least one set of either?

@tstahldotcom : i expect a lot of burn and my list is built for that by :
-i have 12 creatures others than bob
-3 brutality in the 75
-more cheap interactions and threats in SB
I am currently 7-1 against burn
If you really expect an army of burn, dredge and some others aggro decks you can play the 4th ooze and 1 finks over some bob but i think it's the bad idea to cut all the bob.
@jokerstyle00 : yes it's very hard, i think you can play kind of green death shadow, LotV less matters in death shadow BGX.
