Hi guys. Has anyone tried Deafening Clarionin their sideboard instead of other boardwipes like Anger of the gods?
It kills as much as anger of the gods, and we have to option to give our creatures lifelink. Instead of having Lightning Helixin main that ive seen some decks with.
We will miss the exile which is really good but still.
Pros, Cons?
I will try the card on the next FNM and see how it does. We have alot of creatureheavy decks at my local FNMs.
As you mentioned, the exile effect is really good and is probably why this card is played (amazing against decks that can bring back creatures from GY like dredge, phoenix decks or Hollow One). I don't know if the lifelink option is really good in our deck, I don't see where we could need it or when we would prefere to have lifelink over something else but it's worth trying it out.
Too expensive, too hard to cast in a 3 color, Blood Moon deck. I don't think I would want to replace either Dreadbore, Kolaghan's Command, Terminate or Abrade to run it.
I agree with SpinifexV. If it could destroy a land I’d definitely consider Agonies. Since it doesn’t, I’m going to say pass for now. Maybe orzhov will give us something.

Little angel, go away come again some other day the Devil has my ear today I'll never hear a word you say. He promised I would find a little solace and some peace of mind. Whatever. just as long as I don't feel so desperate and ravenous.
I started recently playing Mardu Pyromancer and last sunday (30/12), I took them to a 32 man tournament. This was the second time, the week before I didn't that well in 2-2 (Win against Hollow One & BG Rock - Lost against Eldrazi Tron & Sultai Control).
This time it was much better: 3-1-1, with the draw intentionally into the top 8. In the top 8 I lost against UR Phoenix.
The wins this time where against: Spirits, Grixis Death Shadow & 8-Rack.
Lost against: UR Phoenix (and again in the top 8 with another opponent).
Draw: Infect (but I crushed him in 2 games while we where waiting).
The deck, overall preformed well. Naturally I think I made some misplays, due to my inexperience with it. Also, how can we beat UR Phoenix? It felt like I didn't stand a chance against it
Although, I would like some advise on some choices:
Hazoret the Fervent: Won my one game, but is rather hard to cast at four mana. Most of the time I flooded or just barely reached three mana. I might replace him with a second Blood Moon
Stony Silence: It didn't do that much this time around, maybe because I didn't face KCI or Hardened Scales. They where at the tournament in some numbers.
Duress: 1 main board didn't seem to hamper me that much? I play it because I'm missing a thoughtseize.
anger of the gods: 2 copies are in the mail, but what should I take out of my sideboard for it?

Could you give us a more detailed report on your MU ? Especially Spirits which is a rather hard MU for us.
How did you like Nihil Spellbombs ? Why not running 3x Leyline of the Void instead ?
About Anger of the Gods and your SB, I think it depends on your local meta. I'd probably cut 1x Wear//Tear and 1x Pithing Needle OR 2x Goblin Rabblemaster.
How do you feel about the Last Hope main, I currently run one as well, as i don't own a Nahiri (to copy Selfeisek's list).
Have you considered Surgical in the board, they work wonders against UR phoenix in my experience (I run 1 spellbomb and 2 surgicals).
Thanks!
I play Liliana, the last hope, because I only own her. But she did rather well during the games. In the Spirits games, she killed all three Noble Hierarchs, she also did very well against Infect. Also, she reaches her ultimate very fast and relevant, so that keeps people attacking her instead of you.
I'm not sure I want to play Nahiri, because of her mana cost, 4 seems often to many for this deck?
I only have one Surgical and it was in a friends deck... But it would probably be a good addition (also against Tron).

Since it was my second tournament with it, I didn't take any notes. But from what I recall:
Game 1: My opponent was on the play, but is very unlucky and almost drew all the land in his deck. My start wasn't also that great, but I was able to control or kill the things he played.
Game 2: My opponent is again on the play and this time he has a much better start. In this mach-up Liliane did some great work (she came down on turn 3) and killed many little creatures, until she was killed. Else, my removal lined very well up against the rest of the creatures, so I was the one who came out on top after 80 minutes.
I'm very happy with the Nihil Spellbomb, the draw a card part kept my in the game against Grixis Death Shadow, while I controlled his graveyard.
I don't have any Leyline of the Void, so I can't play them.
I will try the Anger of the Gods instead of the Goblin Rabblemasters in the sideboard. In the mainboard, I will probably try a Goblin Rabblemaster instead of Hazoret.

I have been thinking about playing Mardu on my local store, but there are a lot of UWs there. So I think I could use a mainboard threat that doesn't die to Terminus. Any thoughts?

Today i went 4-0 at my local FNM with this list
It was the first time i ever won a tournament.
We were a total of 12 players and these are my matchups:
2-1 Grixis Death Shadow. He won the first round, and the rest of the game was close. Last two i drew alot of discard which helped, never drew any gy hate though. But with a pyromancer, a dreadbore and fatal push i could put enough preassure to win.
2-0 GB Elves. This match was quite easy, young pyromancer and lingering souls really did the work here. Somehow i managed to fill the board faster then she did, and could swing in with the spirits together with some bolts.
2-1 GR Valakut. First game was rubbish, he ramped really fast and smashed we with 3 valakuts and a titan. Game 2 and 3 i got early bloodmoon, used both molten rains and fulminator mage.
2-0 Naya Burn. First match was close, but with 2 inquisitions and a thoughtseize i made it. Second game Kambal did all the work.
Other decks that were played in the FNM was: Hatebear, jeskai tempo, 8-wack, mono Green Stompy, Jund, valuetown and eldrazi tron.
Before this FNM i was considering bringing in Lightning Helix in main and Rabblemaster in sideboard. And maybe it could work but my list was really good today. So as long as my meta stays like this i will keep it for a while.
Ofcourse Blood Moon was the mvp in most of the games. I never got to use either of the Lilianas or Kalitas which got me thinking about if i should try selfeiseks list with Nahiri and two Helix.
Had my first "official" win ever against Tron last FNM...
Game 1
I have a fast start with 2xPyromancer, he has Tron on T5, which is one Turn to late.
Game 2
Tron does Tron things
Game 3
I draw my complete sideboard and have literally all the answers (2x Wear/Tear, 2x Alpine Moon, 1x Pithing Needle).
- An early Alpine Moon
- K-Command against his T3 O-Stone
- Bolt + Helix against his T5 Thragtusk
- Wear/Tear + Removal + Removal against Wurmcoil 1
- Pithing Needle Against the following Ugin
- Dreadbore + Removal + Removal against Wurmcoil 2
Do anyone here have any experience against Grishoalbrand/Instant Reanimator decks?
A player at my local place just built his and we tried a game, i got smashed. It felt like i couldnt discard him enough to make any difference.
Its alot like UR through the breach but with more options to combo.
Do you know any specific card i could use in my SB to counter the deck?

I think Leylines and Surgicals are your best friends against this deck, G1 I think it's probably always unwinnable if they have the combo. G2 and G3 the best way is put leyline on board and make them discard the shoal and/or breach. Although I haven't played this MU a lot I personally think it's pretty tough even with leylines, they can easily overpower us in the early game.
I used Chandra, Torch of Defiance mainboard as a flex card (number 60). Versus burn, she didn't do much. But, when the game was grindy, she was really good. Similar to Kolaghan's Command as a flex tool, she can do different things. First, she can help you kill large creatures (an additional removal spell in a pinch). She can also draw you extra cards or do damage over time. When I was in mirror matches, against Jund, or other similar decks, her +1 exile effect was very beneficial in putting pressure on the opponent. Her second +1 ability was also very useful, you could play Chandra and cast Bedlam Reveler or Pyromancer on the same turn. Her plus Bedlam Reveler will do more than enough to clear out a stalled board. IMHO she is better than either Liliana mainboard.
If you have a lot of fast aggro though, she will only be marginal.
Deck feels bad. Either I can't find a creature to clock the opponent, or i get creatures but don't have enough discard to protect them. Manabase is complicated too. I can kill storm pretty easily but that's about it.
Mulligan decisions are pretty important with this deck. Similar to BW Tokens, there are some hands that you keep and others you don't and experience will show you which will reward you. In general, you want some interaction effects (discard etc), some threat(s), and at least two lands, preferably of different colors. You can keep a hand with a card draw effect (Faithless looting), but understand the probabilities of drawing into what you are missing. It's actually a really good deck once you figure that out.
However, it's also matchup dependent. You need to use your knowledge of the format and opponent to also determine mulligan decisions. Play conservatively.
It kills as much as anger of the gods, and we have to option to give our creatures lifelink. Instead of having Lightning Helixin main that ive seen some decks with.
We will miss the exile which is really good but still.
