@popcornpasta: which regionals will you be playing in? I may be going to wasteland in Atlanta. I’ve spoken to a friend about going up to 21 lands and it might be correct.
The list from the GP seems very interesting. I like the idea of Arclight Phoenix with the Liliana of the veil. Definitely something to consider.

Little angel, go away come again some other day the Devil has my ear today I'll never hear a word you say. He promised I would find a little solace and some peace of mind. Whatever. just as long as I don't feel so desperate and ravenous.
That list is interesting for sure, though I've never been much of a fan of the mainboard planeswalkers.
Arclight seems like a good fit for the deck, but I do have one issue with it that has kept me from trying it for now. Post board, people are going to be bringing in whatever graveyard hate they have as it's our main exploitable weakness (granted it isn't so crippling that we can't win anyway, but it does bog us down a bit). Unfortunately, arclight phoenix plays right into that.
Maybe once people aren't loading up on dredge hate I won't be so apprehensive about leaning on the graveyard a bit more, but right now it seems like a ton of sideboards have 3-5 pieces of yard interaction.
Excited to see what Hazoret and Kambal can do. So far i have never played with these cards in Modern.
Edit: I am also testing if Manamorphose or Night's Whisper is better. It feels like Night's Whisper is decent in Grindy and Controll-ish MUs but Manamorphose is great fixing under a Blood Moon, a free spell for Reveler/Pyromancer but generates no card advantage.
I'd suggest trying to fit a couple goblin rabblemasters in there. It's actually such a good additional threat that the next time I play mardu I plan on dropping Hazoret and the two mainboard blood moons for them.
So Regionals had a few Mardu lists top 8, even one won their event.
Some things to note:
Chandra ToD in the 1st place deck list. Tw0 ran 1 LtLH and 1 had 2 LotV as their planeswalker package
Most lists were for the most part stock, one had a MD Zealous Persecution
The GY hate was 3 on Leyline and 1 on Nihil/Surgical.
Hi all. I’m the Mardu player from Baltimore. I know 6th place isn’t the best standing, but I wanted to say the deck felt great all day.
I know Mardu has been on a downswing. Many people it see it as a bit too fair, or prefer GBx midrange decks.
I’m not trying to sway anyone into buying the deck nor am I here to convince anyone it’s the best midrange choice, but to those of you who are interested in playing the deck or currently playing it and thinking of putting it down, I just wanted to let you know that the deck is still good. Not just OK, or a meh choice, but actually good. This is of course my opinion, and I wouldn’t fault anyone for holding one that is different.
How did LtLH do for you? It's something I considered, but didn't play for regionals.
Also, how was blood moon? It never felt relevant except against Titan shift, but I didn't draw it lol. Ended up moving them to the side and the rabblemasters to the main to try to solve the slow clock problem.
LtLH was okay. LoTV has put me in an odd spot before where I couldn’t tick down but ticking her up meant I lost a card I wanted. This has happened quite a few times, so I elected not to run her. Nahiri and Chandra TOD are cards I want to test, but prior to the event I never ran them so I went with ol faithful. LtLH is always a solid choice and easy to side out.
Moon won me 3 of my matches straight up, and sadly I didn’t see it when I played against titanshift, which was one of my two losses.
I will continue playing Blood Moon as a 2 of, especially in open metas and large events, but if you’re local meta is resilient to it then I think some Arclight or Rabbles could be solid.
I started theorycrafting with the list (I haven't got hold of the Phoenixes yet) as I think that Phoenix is a better fit than Rabblemaster. First off, I hate the 3 planeswalkers in the Arclight/ Reveler deck, so I cut them for a higher instant/sorcery count. Secondly, I wanted to include more 'free' spells to increase the synergy with all 3 of our creatures, so 2 mb surgical (not a bad meta call atm if you ask me) and 2 manamorphose (I know its bad against Thalia, but we have removal and a sideboard).
Yeah I feel like Surgical is a bit narrow. And I'm still kinda of the assumption that Phoenix is bad in this deck, I feel like it requires you to be both bad Mardu and bad Runaway Red.
So... in general, how are people feeling about this deck lately? I'm really considering putting it down.
I'm in the same boat. I still love how the deck plays, but it just doesn't seem well suited for the current meta.
Honestly I think our best case scenario is twin getting unbanned. This would reign-in a lot of the degenerate decks and make the meta more interactive (the kind of meta mardu would thrive in).

Got 4th on a smaller (~70 People) Tournament with a strong power level .
Won against elves (good matchup, one game he played 3 bg lands, I played bloodmoon, instant win)
Draw against uw Spirits (hard one, draw was ok for me)
Won against burn 2x (Kambal is King here)
Won against UR Wizards Pyromancer Ascenions (ez game)
Lost against KCI (hard matchup)
Top8:
Won aginst KCI (same opponent as before, had the perfect hand after boarding, thoughtseize, surgical, kambal, spellbomb)
Lost against Tron (unwinnable)
With a fine tuned sideaboard a lot of matchups are winnable. Nevertheless you need some luck (burn player doesn't have perfect hand etc.) to win constantly... And you need to dodge tron
As a Tron player myself i have to say that a Turn 3 Blood Moon followed by one Pyromancer or Reveler is really not worrying at all.
I always board in Nature's Claims so Alpine Moon might have the same problems as Blood Moon (that is dying very fast) but if you play smart and play Discard on Turn 1 and A-Moon on Turn 2 followed by something like Rabblemaster oder Hazoret on Turn 3/4 it's looking a lot darker.
I like the idea. I would be worried about a deck that has cheap disruption followed by a fast clock like Rabblemaster.
Alpine Moone has still the problem of T3 oblivion stone T5 Destroy everything... And we usually don't have won untill this turn (unless we play rabblemaster and mor burn stuff)
I think Moon is still fine against a lot of decks that aren't Tron though, and thinking that it was only good because of the tron matchup (it was never that great vs tron btw) is a trap.
That said, I would consider moving it to the side, or using Alpine Moon in the side instead, and bringing in Rabbles. I think potentially the rabble/hazoret package is good enough to run all the time, but I wanna test out Nahiri first before I make that call.
Between Hazoret from the SB and Rabblemaster from the MD i think this list packs quite a punch and is also more resilient to gravehate such as Leyline which can turn Reveler from a 10/10 to a 1/10 very quickly.

My current concoction with a more aggressive slant.
Moon has been pretty poor for me lately while rabblemaster out of the side has been great so they've switched places and amounts.
I'll report back with test results after my next fnm. May be a bit since work has been crazy though.

I beat Mono G Tron in my 8th round. Felt real good. Probably the highlight of the night

I must hear more about this win vs Tron. I'm assuming it involved Rabblemaster beats.
