@Jori This is a fair assessment, however I think these scenarios are more or less specific scenarios. Ooze can help to retain life if they don't have inkmoth. But I do think TS got more value against Affinity since some lists started to play Karn now. Maybe you can change the SB plan and make a small hedge of that by keeping 1 TS in and board in 1 Ooze instead. But I do think these small hedges are within the realm of personal assessment and skill of the matchup.
Thats true, my cases where I lost it wouldnt have mattered if I had thoughtseize or scooze, sometimes u die to a pumped up champion or inkmoth with sick topdecks. I do think that it should specify in the sideboard primer for affinity, that taking out some number of scoozes and more BBE is fine if u have better cards in the sideboard.
On that note, I will exchange 1 Anger for a kozileks return for next time, solves both manlands and champion problem, they never see it comming. Bad vs spirits and humans, but not totaly dead and easier to cast, plus suprise element.
So trying to figure out what's the SB I want for SCG Dallas. I know burn/UW/dredge will be very big this weekend. I believe I'm looking at something like this. I will be running prolly 2-3 trophy MB and dropping my abrupt decay/terminate for sure. I kinda wanna use my flex slot for the third trophy? Though I'm not sure yet. I also have been playing 25 lands since I first picked up Jund at the start of summer. I had a great showing in the the modern classic last time in Dallas making top 8. I hope to have a finish like that again but this time in the main event.

Yeah I already implemented the article in the primer the minute it went live. Good stuff, as always.
I've taken a look at the primer, and there's a little change to make, about Lily of the Veil: "The second best planeswalker ever printed (But the best in modern)" is no longer true.
Edit: And frankly, she might actually be in 3rd place now.
I've been away from MtG for a while, but have been following the news a little since Trophy came out. Is there any consensus at this point regarding some of the popular topics that arose when Trophy was spoiled? IIRC, some of those questions were:
- Most importantly, which brand of BGx midrange is the top dog? Still Jund, or is it supplanted by abzan or BG?
- How many Trophies to play? 4 seemed like the obvious answer, but the land drawback led some to advocate playing 3 or less.
- How has sideboard construction changed now that we have better catch-all answers?

- Jund vs BG is a matter of preference. Jund is still the fastest version, but BG Rock is the deck that has gained the most from Assassin's Trophy, due to the duplicate effect from Field of Ruins (3 color decks don't run that many basic lands) and the fact it didn't have an equivalent to Terminate/Dreadbore. Abzan... well, Lingering Souls doesn't seem very well placed right now.
- It's version dependent. In BG, run 4. In Jund, you have more options (Bolt, Terminate, Dreadbire, K-Command). Running 3 seems the consensus at the moment.
- Don't know at the moment.
Im very happy to my list, but i really like to drop one land and run 24, replace for one Bolt, but i not sure is that correct, 24 or 25 i afraid to play 24 with 4 Bbe and not make for manas turn 4.

Is it no longer true though? Jace is imo not the best PW in modern actually^^ Contendors for this spot is still LoTV historically, maybe even Teferi or even LtLH.

The best is still Jund atm. At least concerning finishes. I recommend playing 3 Trophies in Jund and Abzan, and 4 trophies in BG.
Sideboard construction has changed in that sense, that the norm of 3 Fulminators are a bit less common now. But ultimately it hasn't changed much. There are some lists which still play 3 Fulminator, then there are lists which switch to some number of Damping Sphere (max 2) and run something else.
A recent uptick in powerful PW in the SB has been the case. People are trying out Nissa, Vital Force and Angrath as a way to fight control and other midrange decks.

That sideboard looks almost exactly like what I would play if I were to go to a big event tomorrow. The only thing I can think of is maybe dropping the tracker for another piece of GY interaction, maybe a surgical. GY decks are in full force right now.

If you expect a lot of dredge, I’d run at least 1 Kalitas, traitor of ghet. I like him more than Huntmaster.
I also think 3 trophies is the right number.

I think due to Dredge, Spirits, Humans and Hollow One Anger of the Gods is a premium sideboard card to have right now. I would sleeve up 2 copies I think.
I think 4 BBE and 7 three drops is the max you can go for 24 lands. Its fine, but its on the greedy side. I would personally try to lower it down by one card which means either only 6 three drops or only 3 BBE. But thats me.
The number of cards you can get access to in Modern is significantly higher. In Jund this is most notable with Grim Flayer, but there's quite a few others too. Cards like Nihil Spellbomb are really good at clearing a land from the top of your deck, and since the curve drifts lower you have the mana to play more spells.
I could figure it out mathematically if necessary, but I would say you're looking at closer to 3-4 cards/turn on average the first turn you untap with it, and considerably more on each subsequent turn as your mana goes up and you hit more cards that are capable of giving you library manipulation.
@Aazadan : Karsten make some assumptions before to compute his numbers, don't forget that.
Moreover, i think we can believe his numbers more than anything else :).
Right, those assumptions are due to the standard card pool. A lot of the limiting factors he cites are mitigated in Modern. Fetchlands thin the deck, fetchland shuffle, grim flayer triggers stack your deck or dig past lands, card draw like spellbomb can dig you past additional lands, Liliana -2's can clear the top of your deck, and more if you include them. There are a lot of cards available that allow for Frenzy to provide significantly more cards in Modern.
