Ha!! Yeah it was definitely Traitor of Ghet... these guys trying to make me look like a maniac haha I honestly didn't draw it the whole tournament, but the idea is that its there for the aggro matchups, ive tested it online and I have had good results with it
I'm currently conflicted between a Duress or third Thoughtseize in the sideboard (4 IoK /2 Thoughtseize split main). On one hand, Duress helps against Burn, and in a good amount of matchups does the same thing Thoughtseize would for no life penalty. However, now that 4 Fulminators seems to be the norm and very strong with BBE, I'm tempted to use the 3rd Thoughtseize to have even more game against Tron (Wurmcoil Engine/Eldrazi) and Titan which are two weaker matchups. Also, it helps against decks with meaty threats like Eldrazi and Delve Creatures.
I'd love to hear any thoughts anyone has on either.
I'd advise against playing the 3rd Seize over Duress in the board. As you mentioned, Duress is better against decks like Burn, though it still does a nice job taking Karns. In my testing, the most reliable way to beat Tron postboard is to disrupt their tutor effects and blow up their lands while you clock them. It's usually better to use your discard spells to disrupt their ability to assemble/reassemble Tron than to take their threats in my experience, though there are obviously situations where the inverse is true.
Cool. Thanks for the advice, Chaos and Delver. I’m honestly a little excited about trying this new build. 6x discard spells just feels more natural to me. It’s what I always used to run. Shoot, just being empathetic for a second and thinking about how bad it feels to be on the wrong end of someone’s turn-1 IoK and them taking that one card that really made your opener a good one, that’s all the motivation I need. Blackleave into IoK is a brutal turn-1.
On a separate note, I have a few serious questions for everyone as regards form and not function:
-What are your basics of choice (as in what sets) for this deck and why?
Right now I’m rocking all the darker (third, or c) beta lands. The art is cool and the color of the text box just seems more vibrant than the other two. The mountain especially seems to pop. I’m using the old fetches and shocks also, and the beta basics seem to match them well. I’m open for suggestions though if someone has some other cool ideas for basics to run.
-Which Terminate do y’all run?
I decided to go with the textless rewards version, but I used to run the FNM one a few years ago. Is anyone rocking the foil Planeshift ones?
-Has anyone sprung for fancy Lightning Bolts?
Beta Bolts would be so cool but I can’t justify that amount on aesthetics at the moment. Not after having just acquired this deck again. I was thinking the textless rewards Bolt would be pretty cool too. In the meantime I’m just sporting M10.
-Does everyone run the FNM BBE’s? If not, is it because you prefer another set/art or you just can’t find them at the moment?
I know these are a little off topic, but let’s face it; Jund is an esteemed deck and if you’re gonna build it, you might as well make it look as cool as you can. I was just curious how other Junders chose to dress it for success.

Oh, and for the targeted discard split, 4/2 IoK/TS has to be right right now, right? Is anyone running the 3/3 split?
We have Brutality in the SB if we need to hit larger targets. I don’t feel like 3x TS is necessary (except when it is). And I too have been trying out that single Duress in the board and can recommend it based on my limited experience. It feels extremely good to use it and nail something crucial with it, and if you’re boarding it in, you probably have something crucial to hit. While we’re on it, which Duress do y’all prefer?

If Aggro is rampant then I can't think of a better top end creature to steal games with. It can be a life stabilizing one man army in Jund with the right conditions. Olivia and Kalitas are the two 4 drops Jund have access to that can really steal games. BBE can swing a losing game in your favor but Olivia and Kalitas are insane when they get going against the MUs they're good against. BBE just edges the other 4 drops out in that it's good against nearly every deck.
Dude, Olivia Voldaren is a house. A lot of people have been talking about Hazoret being a good mirror-breaker (not the same kind as Kiki, mind you), but if we’re talking against Junk instead of Jund, Olivia straight up mops the floor with them. No bolts to worry about and souls to eat for days. I have a couple of Junk (it’s still hard calling it Abzan) decks that have popped up recently at my LGS and I’ve been seriously considering throwing an Olivia in the side. That MU is kind of difficult as is. Lingering Souls is just an insanely good card.

I interestingly had different experiences. Tron has way more ways to tutor for lands or to cantrip, than actual threats. I personally have found, it is more likely that they have more tutors in hand than threats, which means, on average, taking the threat is better for me. I think fighting for them not reaching Tron through discard is impossible. Unless we have an unlikely case in which we are able to take their only tutor for a land. In that case the discard is forced anyway though. So I am generally more inclined to take cards that get their threats, like Stirrings, or taking the threats themselves. But I am not saying that your approach is wrong, in fact I am not completely sure about it, its just what has worked for me better atm.

If you want to get fancy af, I'd suggest Guru basics I am just on unstable basics. Betas are what I am reaching for in the future.
-Which Terminate do y’all run?
I decided to go with the textless rewards version, but I used to run the FNM one a few years ago. Is anyone rocking the foil Planeshift ones?
Regular Planeshift, would look for FNM promos.

FBB Bolts for me, aka the budget betas
-Does everyone run the FNM BBE’s? If not, is it because you prefer another set/art or you just can’t find them at the moment?
Have them, but did not use them as of now. But regual Steve Argyle's BBEs are acceptable, as long as they are Steve Argyle's art.

Unhinged. The new Unstable ones are really pretty, but at this point I've been running the Unhinged ones for a few years and they have some sentimental value, so I'm not likely to change.
-Which Terminate do y’all run?
Planeshift, although your post made me check the prices of the full art ones and pick a couple up.
-Has anyone sprung for fancy Lightning Bolts?
I've thought about it, but I'm not married to the older border and don't have any other foils to support the textless ones. I would love me some non-foil textless Bolts, though.
-Does everyone run the FNM BBE’s? If not, is it because you prefer another set/art or you just can’t find them at the moment?
I picked up playsets of the original Alara and Planechase printings a couple years ago (she had to come back eventually, right?) and have been using the Planechase ones. Even though the Alara art is OG, it's just so...weird.
I have the entire 75 foiled out. I have a promo foil treetop in the mail since I never thought I'd need 2 in jund
Textless bolts, fnm foil terminates, unhinged lands, promo fnm bbes, promo bobs, the whole thing. I was resleeving my deck so I took a picture on my phone. Have no clue how even post it on this site
Only thing I don't have is the original foil goyfs, which is too absurd even for me.
-What are your basics of choice (as in what sets) for this deck and why?
Unhinged is the way to go. Their art is just so pretty. Although, mine are in the mail currently, so I'm rocking some Onslaught basics that match my older fetches
-Which Terminate do y’all run?
Planeshift all dey wey. Had mine from when I played during that set back in the day.
-Has anyone sprung for fancy Lightning Bolts?
Yep. Picked up a few Judge Bolts by trading at larger events I've traveled to, and decided to go all in and purchase the rest of the set. One of my favorite investments so far.
-Does everyone run the FNM BBE’s? If not, is it because you prefer another set/art or you just can’t find them at the moment?
Similarly to planeshift, I got my BBE's when I played them in standard. I traded/bought some promo's when they came out cuz they were just so gosh darn pretty and they're also by Argyle, who is a really cool dude and has a soft spot for Jund as well.
The reason I like to attack their ability to assemble Tron postboard is because it forces them to waste more time cantripping/finding ways to produce green to cast their Scryings/Stirrings, which takes their entire turn when they're on only 2-3 mana. While you are right that they generally have more tutors than threats, once they have Tron+ online it's very easy for them to cast multiple spells a turn until they find a threat they can play. In conjunction with the 4 Fulminator Mage plan I'm trying now, it's felt very important to take their tutors because they can easily recover from having just one land blown up. I suppose a good summary is to say that I think taking their tutors buys more turns on average than taking a threat-- but again, it is always context dependent!
Yep! That's basically what I'm in. It's pretty cheap too. I'm all about helping MTG artist when I can, especially if it's with my own personal collection. I finally took the plunge to try it out.
-What are your basics of choice (as in what sets) for this deck and why?
Right now I’m on Battle for Zendikar full arts, but next time I go to my store I wanna get Unstable ones since they’re so pretty, surreal and “magic-like”.
-Which Terminate do y’all run?
Alara Reborn.
-Has anyone sprung for fancy Lightning Bolts?
Don’t know what’s considered fancy, but I’m running MM2 bolts atm. I also have Unlimited ones, but they were quite beaten up when I bought them; so I later went for cleaner, newer ones.
-Does everyone run the FNM BBE’s? If not, is it because you prefer another set/art or you just can’t find them at the moment?
I panic-bought the Alara Reborn ones the day before the unbans since the Planechase ones were out of stock at the time. I think the Planechase ones are superior, but I’ll take Alara Reborn over the C16 art any day.

Everyone is going to disagree with me on this, but my MB discard right now is 2 Duress, 1 IoK, 2 Thoughtseize, 2 Brutality. Duress vs IoK is just a meta call, I seem to mostly be going up against decks where Duress is really good taking things like Scapeshift, Gifts Ungiven, Jace, Collected Company, and so on. I'll remove them when the meta shifts but they're well positioned at the moment. Basically, I'm weighting the ability to take spells and planeswalkers a lot higher than the ability to take random creatures, because I figure that's what I have the removal for.
i really think 25 lands is the way to go. I've experience the mana flooding that people are talking about but when i started running 4 treetop, 1 ravine, its way better. animating treetop early keeps planeswalkers in check. you only need 14 red sources to consistently cast bolt turn 1. so dont need to run too many red sources.

The regulars on this board were beginning to lean on 6 discard
We were also beginning to think last hope was better off in the sideboard
I don't think the sideboard should be paid any mind since it looks completely geared for the league.
Why are we playing the 2nd pulse over a terminate or push though?
I wonder if we need to play a little extra removal on the side
