Bad matchups: Merfolk (land disruption plus pressure), Affinity, Elves, Zoo, Infect, Scapeshift, Ad Nauseam and other degenerate creature-less combo decks, Abzan Company, Tron. Decks that either go wide and can block our stuff, race faster than us, or do not care at all what we are doing in general while we have few ways to stop them from doing their main game plan.
Ofcourse I'd probably tier these off in some fashion because while they are all "bad" matchups, several are extremely winnable. Scapeshift for example is pretty easy if you can stick an early TKS and then blink it with displacer. Infect is extremely difficult but if you can stall them a turn or 2 and drop a drowner of hope (or multiple blinks) you can easily win the match.
I've seem Thragtusk in some sideboards but it is easily splashable and has great synergy with Eldrazi Displacer so why not maindeck 1x over one of the 6-drops ?
Currently I'm looking at dropping Blue entirely and going with G/W with Endbringer
(which is doing well in Eldrazi-Tron decks) at the top of the curve.
I like the streamlined mana and the option to add more utility lands: Gavony Township and Sea Gate Wreckage.
Saw a TCGplayer video where an Eldrazi Displacer used its ability on a buffed-up Bogle. I thought the Slippery Bogle's passive wouldn't have allowed the interaction, but it resolved and the Bogle was exiled, returned, etc.

Turn the sound on, he even tells you what he is doing. He exiled the card that the boggle blocked, so his Reality Smasher.
So after opp declared blockers, he blinks the smasher and combat damage doesn't happen between boggle n smasher? Just to confirm. Cos displacer really gets me confused at times.

Right, this is somewhat common line of play you should understand with the deck. The Smasher was blinked to prevent lifelink from happening in this case (Bogle had Spirit Link on it). Other times you blink whatever creature blocks your Reality Smasher to get the full damage from Smasher in there (can't blink a hexproof creature in this case though).
In the top 8 of the SCG Open we are two types of sb : very versatile (like the first) or very focused on the meta like the 4th and 8th. What do you think is better for GP Lille?
Hey guys, long time reader here. I've been playing Eldrazis for a couple of months now (basically since Pascal Maynard made Top4 with Bant Edlrazis at the GP). After trying different versions, and losing in three in-a-row PPTQ finals including yesterday's PPTQ (feels bad man), I've just concluded that Bant is way more powerful than the other color combinations.
On the topic of how to configure the sideboard, I personally like the versatile sb like the one that won the SCG open yesterday. I didn't have Worship in my sb, but I do think it would have helped me a lot to have 1 or 2 copies in the sb. I think that sb are probably locked around 6-7 cards, then it is up to everyone to complete it.
For me, the must include sb cards are:
2-3x Graffdiger's Cage
2-3x Engineered Explosives
2x Coounters (either negate or stubborn denial)
I know many people might not agree with me, but that's normal when talking about a non-linear deck such as eldrazis.
PD: Elder Deep-Fiend is AWESOME. I had 2 copies in my sb yesterday and man they were worth it.
Do spellskite worth it now? Infect and bogle are not very present in that meta, and spellskite do nothing vs dredge or mirror because these deck play's few removal. What do you think about that?
The thing with spellskite is that is very meta-dependant. If Infect/Boggles are not very present at your meta, you can consider moving them to the sb. I played against 2 infetc players yesterday, so they were pretty good for me, but speaking objectively i did sideboard them out quite a lot. They "combo" very well with displacer, but that is only relevant against mathups were we are favored already (jund, abzan, jeskai nahiri, etc). Basicaly, like i said, it depends on the meta you expect. The best thing about having the spellskites in the main is that if they're good in the mathup, you can use your stirrings to find them even in G1.
I think i will cut the 2 spellskite for gp lille, and replace them for 1 reshaper and 1 dismember (or 1 worship, i need to test it MD, it steal 80% games where i drop it)
They are not only here for boogles but key in some other difficult MU for us (infect - yes, even if they have removal, they are still better than most of our cards, burn, zoo, death shadow, affinity...). And finally, they are very good in the mirror, which you should anticipate a little to me, since this deck is T1 and perfed significantly recently!
I think the spellskite topic is very hard to conclude. Its just a card that serves many different roles.
Regarding Blessed Alliance, I think Im gonna give it a try. Seems like it could be a very useful sb card. Like Harakesh said, it helps against Burn, but also helps against boggles (obviously), and I even think that it might be useful against infect which normally attacks with only one infect creature.
I've tested one Elder Deep Fiend in the main for quite some time now and I am not convinced at all. I've drawn it enough to conclude that everytime i get it i wished it was a Drowner. The double blue is relevant, and i dont want to have to force myself to play towards getting that mana. Since the tap ability is on cast, it isnt a good blink target for Displacer. As opposed to holding Deep Fiend in my hand all game until i can flash it in at the end of their turn and alpha strike, i'd much rather just drop a Drowner and blink the hell out of it. Deep Fiend has won me a few games, but i feel like a Drowner would have done the job just as well if not better. I've never just played Deep Fiend on turn 4, its usually the card you hold until the time is right to close out a game.
I also dont like sacc'ing anything to cast it. The best sac guy is of course Reshaper, but then all you are doing is gaining +2 power and the chance that Reshaper might hit something good, which he usually does not considering the deck is half lands/mana dorks. Usually, if you are Deep Fiending into an alphs strike, you already have what you need on the board or in hand, so the extra card off Reshaper is irrelevant.
Think of these two scenarions, if its late enough in a game where you could cast Drowner or Deep Fiend, would you rather have Matter Reshaper, Drowner, and 2 Scions on the board, or One Deep Fiend and a land (because you sacced the Reshaper and hit a land). Its especially frstrating is they just have a Terminate for your Deep Fiend afterwards. The first scenario is simply so much more powerful. This isnt a tempo deck, i'd rather get the board big, then bink and tap myself to victory. Grinding it out is what this deck does if you dont already win on a busted fast start. But i'd argue that Deep Fiend is not part of a busted start.
With regards to the EDF, I guess that during the tournament I wasn't actively comparing it to DOH to see which would have been better. I had 2 in my main deck, cutting one DOH down to 3 copies and using the flex slot that this deck normally has to make room for the two copies. Although we indeed are not a tempo deck, I do think EDF provides an effect that is nice to have in the deck. Sure, you can simple assemble the displacer + drowner lock, which is why I still have 3 copies of DOH, but trying out the EDF wasn't too high of a cost since a already had 2 skypawners in my list plus 2 reshapers, which were enough sac fodder for the emerge. Another thing I like'd about having the EDFs in the list is that they allow us to upgrade any of the mana dorks while paying for two mana of the emerge cost (tapping for U and discounting 1 from the emerge).
Anyways, I'll try to test it out a little bit more with the comparison to DOH in my mind. EDF is a new card and I think it still remains to be seen whether or not it's worth it's inclusion.
I feel like Deep Fiend needs to be compared to Drowner because we are treating Deep Fiend like a late game bomb. Unless i am playing the card totally wrong and it is better as a 4 drop, but i never feel comfortable playing one of our 3 drops on turn 2, only to immediately sac it the next turn and replace it with a Fiend on turn 3. I usually have other stuff to do, a board to build, and i hold onto the Fiend for a later game win. Once i get to that late game, i have the resources to drop a Drowner if i had one, but instead im stuck with this Deep Fiend that i dont really want to play, wishing it was a Drowner instead.
In most scenarios, it feels like a win more, because if i have extra creatures to sac and enough other creatures to attack hard, then i am obviously far ahead on the board as it is. I cant say i've had Fiend pull me out of sticky situations and steal games quite like a Drowner has.
