People have tested with Dakmor Salvage and have found it underwhelming. I haven't personally tested it, but generally, you're going to hit Loam more often and want to Dredge that instead or you'd rather draw something more useful than a Retrace of Crime or Jab. With all of the control in your meta, Raven's Crime might be worth going up to 3 or 4. Desperate Ravings probably doesn't need to be there. Same with Infestation, like others have been saying. I would definitely recommend trying out Young Pyromancer over Bloodghasts. Making a token off of each Retraced spell is pretty sweet value. Plus the synergy with Smallpox. Personally, I always recommend running 4 Seismic Assaults. It's too critical for the deck to go over the top with it that you want to see it every game. With Pod having MB enchantment hate, Control/Combo having counter spells, targeted discard being everywhere and Abrupt Decay/Maelstrom Pulse being a thing, it is never really a bad thing to have a back up.
Ok, so this a really crazy idea, but with the high land count of the deck (I run 27 myself) would playing Ad Nauseam be a problem? I tried it out for a couple of games, and the amount of cards you can draw while being safe is surprisingly high. Normally the curve tops out at 3 mana, with Assault and Lily being the three drops but since Young Pyromancer has come into the picture the curve is now more focused on the 2 drops. This may seem as a crazy idea, but drawing 12-15 cards and winning on one go with all the lands isn't a bad play. And frankly this deck can't exactly rely on a huge meta shift to be able to be popular again. So I'm starting to branch out more and try new ideas to breath some life into the deck. Thoughts?

As an Ad Nauseam player, I always will welcome an Ad Nauseam in testing. I think it would cost too much for this deck, although this deck grinds out the game so I don't know.

I have been getting into Ad Nauseam myself, and this is why I am suggesting it. The thing is that the deck functions best on three lands, but you have to go up to five if you want to activate a manland, mainly Raging Ravine. Most games I will sit around 4 lands, while I am trying to stabilize, so by this time you will have seen enough cards in your deck to get it somehow. I don't think that it is that hard to go up one more land, especially if we are loaming each turn.
My thought process is that the card acts as a one-card-combo. Similar to Scapeshift, or the new UWR Kiki Control decks, which are control decks that can surprisingly combo off and win form no where. THis would allow us to have the option to win from nothing except a Assualt down. It IS risky thought because of the life loss, but there is probably some way to negate that. Kitchen Finks?

Well, with the assault, you will probably need 6-8 lands on average when you . I don't think you will hit that consistently while staying at a healthy life total. It's technically a two card combo, but I see your point.

The thing is though, that you don't need a good life total after you cast it because the game will be over. Yes you maybe shouldn't risk going to 3 or something boltable, but you can go pretty low because lands don't take any life away. From what I have found, when you cast it in about 10 cards you will get about 4 0cmc, 2 1cmc, 3 2cmc, and maybe something at 3cmc if you are running Souls or not. This is ~10-12 life for 10 cards. It can't be that hard to stay above 10 right? Especially with the use of Bow of Nylea which has been an allstar sideboard card for me lately.

I guess you do just win if you hit the number of needed lands.
Local meta is packed with graveyard hate as well. Living End, Aggro-Loam, Pod, Storm, etc.
mykatdied, may I see your list? Curious about it as I hadn't much success with my Pox Loam.

Common sense is the most fairly distributed thing in the world, for each one thinks he is so well-endowed with it that even those who are hardest to satisfy in all other matters are not in the habit of desiring more of it than they already have. - René Descartes
It is mostly about playing around the graveyard hate. For instance you take RiP with inquisiton of kozilek, you sandbag an abrupt decay and don't start going "all in" on dredging and casting life from the loam. If your opponents drops a relic of progenitus you destroy it or bait an activation before you start to really fuel your yard, etc. Ad Nauseum could make it so that these cards mean very little to you. It is probably better in a separate list full of discard, sweepers, and a lot of land, around 32?
EDIT: mana base ajusted, also trying golgari charm and thrull parasite in the board
I've been enjoying the 2/2 split between explosives and pox. Explosives is always one-sided since we run so few permanents. It can act as a sweeper sometimes. Both pox and explosives help us deal with creatures we can't touch by other means. I found 4 poxes to be too much. Also the changes in the board are pretty good. I can side in up to 6 creatures, adding to my win con list. The six creatures gain life so they are reasonable vs burn/aggro. I won a game yesterday were my opponent had surgical extracted loam and pyro. Huntmaster and courser won me the game. The 2 Bojuka bogs could be something else, i'm still trying to figure out better options.
So any thoughts on Restock as it's now Modern legal?
Also how bad would a deck of Walls be? If you hid behind them and then won with an Assualt? Wall of Mulch was spoiled so it could totally be a thing... right?
