I was thinking about Brave the elements aswell. But i can't save your Young Pyromancer with it. So that's why i picked gods willing instead of brave. But maybe a 2/2 split between brave and god willing
Sacrificing a pyro to save your entire team of monks and especially mentor seems better over all to me personally. But I still get why you like god's willing. I guess with god's willing all you need is another instant to cast in response to a pyroclasm or 2 more instants against an anger to save your team. I am not sure that pyromancer is really worth saving so much as your monk team. Although if you get some value off pryomancer, they will waste a board wipe before you have to drop mentor, so a split may be fine.
I just don't know if this deck utilises green enough. Or if I should use green as a sideboard opportunity. Such as ancient grudge, krosan grip and the white Ray of something (with green flash back).
I might get the missing cards this weekende and fittle with it. I'll have money for it then
In most builds green is mostly used for life from the loam and maybe ancient grudge, ray of revelation, commune, decay. It is usually really only a splash for loam if you think about it.
Double U in the deck that wants access to G or R in the early turns, RRR on turn 3. Seems tough, but could work in a RuG build with 3/4 cascade bluffs.
I'm playing Pyroloam at the moment and loving all the synergies.

I think it's just Jund Loam with Young Pyromancer. Thought it was a cool name

So this is my current list, the sideboard is a bit of a hodgepodge of decks I am paranoid about, Affinity, Burn and Twin.
I wonder if the list as is looks decent or if there are any other additions you guys might suggest. I've not played tonnes of games, but the biggest concern I have currently is being unable to cast Lingering Souls on time. I would rectify this by removing Polluted Delta and going down to 2 Wooded Foothills, replacing the void with 4 Verdant Catacombs, but I can't quite justify that expense just yet
When they get reprinted I'll be snapping them up.
Anywhoo, I feel like a sweeper or two might not be amiss in the main or the board, but I don't know if this is too much of a nonbo with the whole Young Peezy/Souls plan. I figure we have the tools to win comfortably with no creatures, and not a great deal of decks can say the same. It's just so sad flipping that Damnation into the grave the turn before you need it... And the only sweeper on colour with flashback Rolling Temblor leaves a bit to be desired.

Okay. was just thinking about the card because of the lack of lifegain in the deck. i've made a jund list now. which is doing pretty well. But i tend to go far down in life because of fetches. So some life gain in some way would be nice. Was just wondering if that was playable. Of if you should do somethink like Scavaingen ooze instead?
My current list:
(ps. the sideboard was just thrown togeather fast so it needs alot of modification.)
Any changes are appriciated. you just gotta know that i haven't got lilianas and goyf. I don't intent to get those before mm15 (or atleast get goyf when mm15 hits)
Try using the Scar's fast lands instead of the polluted deltas; that should help with the life loss. Maybe try Kitchen Finks as well to provide a life buffer as well as semi-combo with Smallpox.
Trying out Resolute Archangel for the burn MU since it dodges skullcrack and the new RG command. Not entirely sold on the 3 Blood Moons; might try out Fulminator Mage if I can get any. Swapped out Noble Hierarchs for Birds since the inability to produce red mana was starting to have slight issues.
I've been satisfied with huntmaster so far. He's less vulnerable to traditional hosers (gy and enchant kill) and still has lots of synergy (flipping it is easy). Powerful vs both creature decks and control, he's a way to use all the mana we can get mid-late game (we are playing 25+ lands), it think a good 4 drop helps do that..
I've tried the 2/2 split between terminate and decay but i ended up drawing decays when i needed terminates and vice versa So i'm sticking with decays and hoping to be able to deal with bigger stuff with lilis poxes and assaults if needed.
The sideboard is what i'm most looking forward to test. I like charms they are so versatile, they practically give you extra sideboard slots! Boil just seems more powerful than choke game 2-3, the opponent will maybe side in enchant hate game 2 so i like it better. Being instant is fantastic vs blue decks. Golgari brownscale i took the idea from that dredge deck with squees and zombie infestation (can't remember the pilot or tournament). We have tons of ways to trigger it and it doesn't use any mana to do so! Seems really good, we shall see. The extra pharaoh vs creature decks obviously, i don't feel like i need more slots with all the removal main deck.
I really like how the deck can sometimes completely deal with everything, kill all the creatures and make the opponent discard all the cards. The flavor of the deck is nice too, using natural disasters feels real good
Hey everyone. I haven't really had time for Magic in quite awhile. I've been trying to launch a Kickstarter project and it's been eating up a ton of my time. It's great to see this thread still alive and kicking. I'll have to go back and reread a lot of the discussion I've missed. Has there been any tournament success with the deck while I've been away?
Here's the current list I have built but haven't tested out yet:
The sideboard is just kind of thrown together but the main thing I'm trying in the MB is 4-of Lightning Bolt. I kept having issues with needing some early spot removal that dealt more than 1 damage. Plus, Bolt is just a solid card. 3 Raven's Crime may be too many in favor of another Inquisition for more targeted discard. I won't really be able to test this until next week but it seems pretty solid. Basically just a Jund deck with added graveyard value.
@Ace: Boil and Sowing Salt seems like a lot of land hate for the sideboard. I don't know what your meta is like, but wouldn't a slot or 2 from those cards be more useful as other cards? I personally put Spellskite in almost all of my sideboards because it is extremely versatile in several match ups and several decks just lose to it. Also, I see what you're getting at with Brownscale but that's pretty slow and you'd have to have stabilized the game state before you'd rather be drawing a Brownscale over Loam. It just seems slow and kind of awkward, especially for being brought in against aggro decks.

I love the Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, for enabling a lot of Crime.
