Why isn't anybody playing Rakdos Charm as in GDS ? It seems to be a very solid and versatile option, especially against the new hollow one deck as you can use the shatter mode to deal with Hollow one or exile the GY if you need to, and do one and then the other with snapcaster. I will try it as a one of in my SB for my next tournament (I'm on 3 Kommand)
I may try By Force too as additionnal artefact hate if I feel I need too
There are good reasons to choose Spellbomb over Charm, though. Against decks like Dredge and Grishoalbrand Charm is decisively slower. Spellbomb can also be brought in against control, Mardu Pyromancer and various Traverse decks where one-time grave exile would not be valuable enough without the ability to cantrip. Charm was a commonly played card two years ago, and it's pretty fantastic against Lantern too, but it's still significantly more narrow than Spellbomb. This is just to answer your question, I'm not saying it's wrong to play Charm.

Personally i play Charm, but that's not because it's any better it's the fact in my meta i can use one of it's modes in every matchup vs Spellbomb only being using in a few and a cantrip. Personally i agree with you though.
Either way has anyone experimented with JTMS? i'm not sure if i want to pull them from my legacy deck to put them in grixis as i don't want to drop Tasigur as it's a great threat and CA imho.

Take out 2 creeping tar pits and 2 pyromancers, put in 4 delvers...
sir. please calm down and step away from the ledge. you have so much more to live for
seriously though delver is a trap in modern. if you want to play a delver-esque deck play grixis death shadow.
u know what, I actually will, as soon as Thoughtseize is reprinted. Street Wraith reprint already here, which is nice.
I also like Delver and pyromancer together in a list for tempo especially grixis as it has a really low curve.
Thoughtseize was just reprinted in Theros and Iconic masters while Street wraith has been reprinted as well in modern masters and masters 25. All those cards are probably the cheapest they will be till another reprint and i don't think thats gonna happen for awhile. Waiting at this point is only gonna hurt you.

Burhart's list is currently 1 JTMS and 2 tasigurs...
What are the thoughts on Dire Fleet Daredevil ? Lars Dam made top4 to the MOCS with 2 in his grixis "tap out" control list
Thanks

I instinctively root for anything with Titi in it. I keep wanting it to become a modern workhorse but outside of kiln thing, it doesn't seem to take off. When do you bring it in?

I like your list a lot, especially the discard bundle. But I dislike the 3-of logic knot, especially without Thought Scour. I personally would play 2 at most. And I don't see any form of cantripping or deck manipulation. IMO, you need at least one playset of a draw spell of your choice (Scour, Serum Visions, Opt, etc.).
i think i really need it but on ther hand i dont see anything that makes the cut. :/
I don't really think you need the cantrips, I played shoota deck with no cantrips and it was good, i would always have a good spell in hand. your card advantage comes from jace, snap, torrential, K command, cryptic and azcanta, but having too many big mana cards you probably need more lands.
if you want to had 4 cantrips, You can trim one of each situational spell, the cantrips will give you some redundancy to compensate. If I were you I would cut a fatal push, a logic knot, terminate and one of the bigger drops.

can you link me the deck?
I will link you the deck but, the only lesson from it is if you have good cards you probably wont need cantrips. First, the deck is somewhat weird, especially the sideboard (jace beleren and stuff). second, this is pre-unbans. none the less I did top 8 that tournament in my LGS, just changing go for the throat for terminate.
4 bolt, 4 push and 4 inquisition made me almost untouchable until turn 3.
the ashiok was weirdly good, but I think it was a meta thing in my LGS, it gave me card advantage and additional threats like tarmogoyfs and siege rhynos, but then i saw nassif testing the deck and ashiok was awful.
If remember correctly nassif takes on the deck was that fells good always having answers each turn and that 4 logic knot were great. he just didn't understand the ashioks and some sideboard cards (jace beleren).
Go for the throat instead of terminate is just for mana considerations, in my opinion ashiok was too. having double red or double black was difficult specially with field of ruin. But with jace now, the deck might work.
anyone been having any luck with more blue jund type decks with Jace and Liliana? I've been trying to make it work and not sure
I have been testing some grixis midrange decks, similar to the deck that BBD played in the Team Modern Super League. It suffers from the same issues of grixis control, good against fair decks, even jund bad against unfair decks like Tron and Ponza. Ponza has been awful to play against, turn 2 blood moon turn 3 stone rain your basic or similar plays.
I'm still didn't try the dire fleet daredevil one, but the result is probably the same. It's awesome against jund, jeskai and burn, bad agaisnt ponza, tron, humans...
They probably are the way to go with jace and is possible that the numbers are wrong or in the way to play the deck. something similar to the jace, vryn's prodigy decks can be the way too.
My local scene has become absurdly inbred with tron, ponza, and burn all trying to be the "next level deck." I was wondering if anybody had some useful suggestions on what to do with grixis in such a meta other than play something else entirely.

That's a lot of directions u need to push in at the same time.
1. Tron: Maindeck field of ruins may help u buy time and reach the late game. This deck can moon, so do it. Once Damping Sphere is printed it'll make life easier. In the meantime, the usual fulminator/crumbling package will have to do. See also: Ceremonious rejection.
2. Ponza: This is a skill based match up. Know how to balance having your shocks out and sandbagging a fetch on the field for your U and B sources. The trick is dodging moon while also protecting yourself from rains. Since the unbanning of BBE aka unlocking value plays for Ponza, this MU has become worse than it was, but still not unwinnable.
3. Burn: This isn't supposed to be a problem for you. Sometimes they'll have the sick draws u can do little about, but otherwise you should be able to stabilize. Increase the number of fatal pushes if you have problems stabilizing against them. Collective Brutalities and Kalitas will turn this MU around for you postboard.

i have to disagree on both the ponza and the burn matchup. burn is a historically bad matchup for grixis. yes you can occasionally win, but not with any consistency.
yes you can flesh out your sideboard to fight these decks, but all those matchups are, all said and done, bad matchups.
one thing thats worked for me in the past (i know its blasphemy but still) is having Grixis Death's Shadow in peto, and switch to that when the metagame becomes too hostile for control. its less soft to some of these bad matchups.
If burn is a difficult MU for you, watching some grixis v. burn videos by Corey/Gerry/Kevin Jones may help. Its a difficult MU for Delver variants especially before fastlands were printed, yes. After Collective Brutality was printed? You really are supposed to be doing better.

last gp corey said in an interview after he won against burn 2-0 on camera that the win was a huge surprise, because in the preparation leading up to the gp, he was 0-12 against burn and had effectively given up on the matchup because it wasnt worth wasting sideboard slots on. i really dontvknow what you're talking about
Wow, I guess I'm really just that good then. Giving up on anti burn sideboards might be a reason why the MU is bad. Between 3 Snares 3 Pushes 4 bolts and 2 terminates I find it draw dependant, but not that much luck is needed. Once you start snap-countering/pushing and they're running on fumes its pretty much the home stretch.

I'm pretending JTMS doesn't exist. Which is technically true for someone who doesn't have $500 to blow on cardboard.
