Yay, now my Modern deck of choice is obsolete until I completely overhaul it and throw an additional $200 at it... THANKS WOTC!
No seriously, I don't get it. I know that amalek0 was saying that they might unban Ancestral Visions to help combat against the Eldrazi decks, or something like that - I don't feel like sifting through thirty or so pages to find out his exact wording on it - but I didn't think that they would also unban Visions along with banning Eye of Ugin. But now, not only did they ban the Eye (thank GOD), but they also unban Visions! And Sword of the Meek, for some reason, but hey, let's focus on the card that makes me wish I had more money right now. They are willing to give blue decks Ancestral Visions - the poor man's Treasure Cruise (btw, I have a feeling that Storm is going to see A LOT more play now, and if it does, I'm taking a very long hiatus from Modern, because f*** that deck), but not reprint Counterspell.

WHYYYYYYYYY!?!?!?!?
The format dosen't need more good draw spells for blue, it needs better answers! It dosen't need a billion more combo decks, it needs to help solidify the existing blue counterspell decks and actually make them more competitively viable (e.g. our deck)! Personally, I am sad and a little frightened. WOTC has been making (IMO) VERY questionable decisions lately (in case you couldn't tell), and I have almost had it to here *puts hand on his nose to indicate where he has almost had it*. And if Storm and other (excuse my French) bull***** degenerate combo decks start dominating Modern -and seriously, if I wanted to play against such a high concentration of those, I would invest into Legacy - them I might just have to exclusively play Pauper. Or quit Magic. Or start betting on illegal cockfights.
I dont think cutting the think twices is a good idea because it is so good at securing the early land drops.
In my opinion the Draw-go Style gets even better with this.
As some above considered, cutting black and esper charm isnt a good idea in my opinion.
One thing is for sure: Control becomes a real thing again in modern now.
My problem with this is that having 4 TT, 4 AV, 4 charm, 2 revelation is just too much draw spells in a single deck. Staying in black is 100% viable, but as it is now our numbers are going to have to change. A lot.

Is anyone else concerned that AV might not be very good in a draw-go shell? (bear with me here) It's a really poor topdeck, and isn't really that useful unless you T1 it. Is there a chance that this benefits glass-cannon-style combo decks more?
Edit: I think the AV unban actually boosts U Midrange (and "tap out" Control too, which is basically midrange IMO) more than anything.
@TheAnnihilator That was my thought exactly, as amazing as the card is for control, I'd rather have think twice to react at instant speed and get what I need, when I need it. Ancestral is great for a late game refuel, but we barely need that with all the card advantage we generate. I think ancestral is definitely better in a tap out build rather than draw-go.
On the note of the remand vs SoD, will people now be replacing shadows (assuming you run both) with remands, I can't see myself going above 2, with possibly 1 in the side, but that seems like a wasted slot to me.

They can still copy it with Ascension if it's already in the graveyard after they suspend it a second time. I'm not saying that is somthing that Storm is planning on doing, but it can come up - they still play Thought Scour, Desperate Ravings and sometimes Faithless Looting after all (although I am suspecting the latter to be played more now because of it), and Visions can give Storm more late-game presence if they need to get back into the game after attempting (and failing) to combo off, or need to set up for the combo later in the game. I, however, am focusing on the fact that Storm gets to have a turn where they start with a storm count at 1 and three extra cards, both things I would rather not let them have. Not to mention that we just left Eldrazi Winter, and I personally do not relish the thought of having to play in a format where there is yet another deck or decks that dominate the format, and worse still, it is a deck that I absolutely despise with all my heart.

That's why I don't think you want 4 AV. I think you want 2-3 AV, 4 TT, 4 Charm, 2 Rev

I've already been running Remands, so yes, I'll still be running them.
But yeah, I'm honestly VERY tempted to run back the same Esper Draw-Go list I've already been playing and reacting to the meta as it changes with tweaks. I don't think this deck even wants AV. My first questions about the meta -- What do we do to combat Delver, Storm, and Tez Prison?
My thoughts: I like 4 Snares in this meta a lot (for the first time in my history w/ Esper), now that we can expect Pyro Asc, Goyf, and snapcaster/Young Pyro back in the meta. Surg is still as good as ever, if not better by hitting more Bridges/Lilis from Tez and the Thopter-Sword combo. Remand is a shoe-in, as others have already noted. I'm much more hesitant to try packing any Anguished Unmaking now, and the 2nd mainboard Halo looks real' good.
I feel that with Tez prison, engineered explosives gets better, not entirely sold on pithing needle though (especially when it comes down to that or stony silence). Delver we can beat with the main decked Halo's I think, same for storm, does pithing needle hit acension?

Pithing Needle does not hit Ascension. It's a triggered ability, not activated. Stony Silence is also definitely now a mainstay in my board (even though I never see Affinity, I know a guy who might come up and play Tez Prison now -- it's his pet deck.)

Pithing needle doesn't hit ascention I think, but Rest in Peace and Runed Halo naming Grapeshot do a pretty good job of that. I'd honestly rather have the halos than the needle in most cases

Luckily I've tested AV in esper and I can tell you one thing for sure and that's that 4 TT is too much next to 4 AV. You'll be discarding to hand size WAY more than you can imagine. When I stopped fooling around with I was at 4 AV 2 charm, 3 TT, 1 rev but this was also in a list with no remands and a world where thopter sword didn't exist. So if you're looking for a place to start, try those numbers and go from there. It's clearly not correct, but is a good place to start. Also with cards like AV you really can't go under 3 copies and have it be any good. Start with 4 and after you test out everything else then you can consider going to 3. Right now my biggest fear is BUG thopter sword. It was a tier 1 capable deck when I played around with it, but now that it gets vision as well, be afraid. Be very afraid.

It's worth reminding everyone that runed halo does NOT work against a swarm of tokens in case you forgot. So if you expect a lot of thopter decks in your meta don't go in thinking the halo is a 1 card I Win combo.

Honestly, IDK what I would do.
Also of course play 4 remands right now for all the control mirrors and random decks splashing for visions
Also needle hits Tezzeret without fear of spellskite, which is about to be a relevant ability, believe me.

Cast Ancestral Vision from exile... copy it with Pyromancer Ascension.....?
