There are the two 1 mana cyclers we can cycle early and use latter but they are both double blue which sucks. Boon of the Wish-Giver being sorcery blergh And Frostveil Ambush is too small an effect.
And there is Shark Typhoon, which actually seems quite good as another Blue X spell and flash creature. Even if we hard cast the thing it can consistently put out creatures for us.
I have not been impressed by Shark Typhoon. The cycling creature is nice value at instant speed, but it doesn't offer much in terms of actual control. It's at its best in Uxyz control matchups, which tend to be good for us anyway.

Sad to see this forum pretty dead. FNM swapped from draft over to Modern since we were struggling to get people for draft (there is no virus here). But unfortunately, attendance is still inconsistent.
So I made some minor updates to my list (there is a lot of different lists floating around) and I was able to qualify for the store championships. Which was last weekend. I ended up going 3-1. All my matches seem to go to 3 games. Beat Elves, BW tokens and Goblins lost to Dredge. Somewhat favourable matchups plus a bit of luck.
I like playing the Karn toolbox. I just wish there were better life gain/blocking options than Filigree familiar and I only have so many options against dredge when my sideboard is full. 3 mana or less artifacts are key because you Tron into Karn and want to get something impactful but I am struggling to find something good there.
Hello everybody, I came back to modern after years of pauper and commander. I felt in love with mono U Tron, and started to play with it. I am looking for suggestions on how to improve my list. I have many questions for those that are more experienced with the deck:
-Should I play more chalice of the void main deck? and if so, what should I cut?
-Should I play a 1x of gemstone caverns?
-I feel like a board wipe is needed main deck more often than not. If I'm right, it is better to play oblivion stone or Engineered Explosives?
-Should I play 2x mindslaver or am I fine with 1x?
-If I play 3 cards between Wurmcoil Engine and walking ballista, which one should I play 2x? or should I play both 2x?
General suggestions on the sideboard would be appreciated
I'm not really keen in playing snapcaster mage, but a part from that, I am really open to suggestions.
so far I haven't see any of these blue trons deck surfacing in recent results but I am wondering is urza's saga a land worth including or a solid pass?
4 of them i could see altering the usual structure of the deck, but this is an era with force of negation and Subtlety so maybe making construct tokens can go with the strategy of assembling tron.
Also Rishadan Dockhand while he is no counter spell, he feels very disruptive to most decks, possibly going along with the strategy of buying time to assemble tron???
I am struggling a bit with Murktide regent since CMC means it can't die to Ugin or get repealed. Remand is good but they have so many counterspells to fight in that deck.

I use suspend, the usual plan is just stall until Ugin/mindslaver etc. Although the best card against UR is Shark Typhoon, but other than it being uncounterable X/X it lacks synergy
Well, I got dunked in store champs 1-4. Losses against 3x UR Murktide and 1 living end. Beat Merfolk.
Thought-knot seer was not the answer I forgot about ubiquity of unholy heat it was only really good against the merfolk deck, I was trying to interact with my opponent's hands to strip counters.
What was very good was Shark Typhoon absolute best card in my deck.
Was reading old posts from 2013 on this forum and decided to try and build the deck from back then, but with a few upgrades. Hall, Otawara, Ballist and Shark

I am trying Thought-knot Seer again since prismatic Ending can't hit it and it seems to have overtaken Path to exile in most decks.

But thoughts on Lórien Revealed, it saw a lot of play in blue decks at the pro tour and it's a good way to turn colourless mana into islands.
