See! It definitely is incredible!
It's really hard to deal with honestly because most of the time they are tapped down by gigadrowse - and it's a static ability so it isn't like they can stifle the effect
I also really like chalice of the void right now in the sideboard with the current format.. lot's of 1 mana shenanigans going on that are easily stopped with it; and I couldn't ever justify running Chalice with a color splash because usually those splashes were for things like bolt/path/fatal push etc..

hey everyone, so I had a bit of brewing talk with a friend and we came up with some changes.
now I know this will probably horrify the purists of the deck, and as someone who was already playing this deck even before part the waterveil existed, I also needed a moment to take this in...what if we play 4 narset and we use 4 day's undoing instead of 4 dictate of kruphix?
I know, I know, dictate has been a staple of the deck for years...but think of this. each time we cast day's is 7 turns of dicate, we strip away the opponent hand, we put all our warps and exhaustions in the deck and we don't really care about our turn ending because...we'll have the next one anyway. and even if we don't the opponent has now 1 card.
this leaves still 2 empty slots that could either be the 4th giga and the 4th exhaustion, or 2 remand, or boomerang (i love that card) or 2 force of negation. but what about snapcaster? well I don't really want to exile stuff from my graveyard...now that i'm going to reshuffle it inside the deck

Narset + Day's = Gross. Could really see that being effective.
especially when you bounce their stuff back to hand with jace or boomerang, and THEN play day's...is SO good

I play against UW control and I have narset on the table and I start undoing.
My opponent tells me OK and no counter this spell and I just made a mistake because he had only 4 cards in hand.
I answer him: oops showing him Narset.
Ahahahaha
He tells me right away that he wants to finally counter my spell. I answered him too late you accepted. I call the judge if necessary.
@zcowan
While the limitation of Force of Negation is a downer, I can understand not wanting blue to take over Modern. The new London Mulligan will give rise to fast-combo decks and FoN could be a great main-board answer to a new Modern meta.
@ doc.brown
I like that both FoN and Commandeer allow tapping out on turn 3 to play Narset, Parter of the Veils while enabling some defense the following turn. On that note, if Pitch Blue grows in popularity then Gigadrowse may be our only hope. Seems like a difficult deck to beat.
Not really. You want to reach 9-10-11 lands without missing landrops to win. I tried it for a bit and was utterly unimpressed by it even against archetypes against whom it should had help.
I was thinking the same while I wanted to add them to the deck. Problems such as Shadow, Burn creatures, Boogles. Then I realized that we'd better try to combo them off before they kill us, instead of letting them draw multiple cards each turn (thanks to our Mines) so that they can just Stub + Snap/Stub (and similar) us into death. Tested on my own skin.
I'm going to attend the MKM European series in Paris with my UG taking turns on saturday, wish me luck~
I already posted my list here, but I'm wondering about switching JtMS with Narset, Parter of Veils mainboard. The real reason behind that is that the difference of 1 cmc matters a lot when trying to combo off. The extra digging helps too, and after three extra turns I'm often assured to win the game so extra activations don't seem to matter much to me. The synergy with mines effects is also not to be underestimated... But yeah, her ceiling is much lower. I've only 4 more days to decide.
Good luck Elpokitolama!
--Are you also going to include something like Thing in the Ice in the sideboard? I definitely feel like you need an alternative win condition in the sideboard and the new Jace requires the deck to be more tailored around milling yourself out.
--As for JtMS and Narset - I think her ability to make your mine effects unilateral is really strong but JtMS does a lot of really important things for this deck (ie being able to brainstorm each turn and set up miracles/bounce troublesome creatures/win the game with his ultimate).. I could see running a like 1 Jace/1 Narset split though
--I forgot about Engulf the shore! That could be useful in mono-blue's sideboard! Have been looking for a good sweeper

Quick rundown of my decisions:
- Growth spiral: it's much more of a Time Walk than Remand, which in this obscenely fast meta is incredibly helpful. - Search for Tomorrow: very good ramp, very good synergy with Thing in the Ice (T1 surch, t2 thing, t3 resolve search)
- Thing in the Ice mainboard: the meta is really creature heavy and beside beeing a very good control tool, closing a game with only two extra turns provides more stability to the deck.
- Savor the Moment: quite the hard card to break, but combining it with another extra turn spell (ex: miracl'd Mastery, or Savor-Snap-Savor) in a single turn breaks its drawback and sometimes all you need is just one more turn... (be careful, TiTi doesn't untap too during the first extra turn)
- Temple of Mystery: placeholder for Yavimaya Coast, figured out I could really take advantage of a few scry here due to the heavy ramp package. Will 100% be replaced in the future by Waterlogged Grove.

Can you help to explain this to me? How does Savor-Snap-Savor break the drawback? Won't you just get 2 more turns without untapping?
The card only says "skip your next uncap step" so if you can cast multiple extra turn effects or multiple savor the moment you only lose out on one untap step

Also, I'm having troubles with the sideboard right now. I thought about going with Jace, wielder of Mysteries and Ashiok, Dream Render as ones-of, a bunch of engulf the shore, and maybe siding in the full Gigadrowse+Exhaustion package. And two Relic of Progenitus, while wondering about the impact of Sun Droplet.
So, what do you think about that?

I should have posted my list again, so here it is:
4x Breeding Pool
2x Forest
4x Hinterland Harbor
6x Island
1x Mikokoro, Center of the Sea
4x Misty Rainforest
2x Temple of Mystery

3x Cryptic Command

4x Growth Spiral
4x Search for Tomorrow

2x Snapcaster Mage
4x Thing in the Ice
Card draw
4x Dictate of Kruphix
2x Jace, the Mind Sculptor
3x Serum Visions

4x Temporal Mastery
1x Savor the Moment
4x Time Warp
1x Ashiok, Dream Render

Stuff I need to figure out before saturday morning, French time:
- Is Narset, Parter of Veils better than Jace, the Mindsculptor in my gameplan?
- Is Narset's reversal worth it over Remand?
- The hell should I do from here with my sideboard?
