Right well in a perfect world you get a few hits in and a few dredges before popping.
If we want more creature damage. I think scrap is totally fine. And yes his "cost" is lower so hes better on agression. I dont think id ever run over 2 however. I dont want to eat ghasts or amalgomates and Id rather not eat stinkweed or grave trolls
So this is a really rough sketch idea. I don't know if we still want gargadon here, but I feel like if we're going to test bridges then it's a solid inclusion. What do you all think?
Not a huge fan of scrapheap scrounger tbh, it's definitely not the second coming of ichorid. Haunted dead also costs 2 mana, creates its 3 power across 2 bodies so it's better with rally, creates an untapped flying blocker at instant speed and lets you discard your dredgers as you activate it. It's just better in almost every way imo

Dredge (117-70 W/L in games) (Pre-GGT ban: 103-70 W/L in games)
Well scrape has one advantage, and thats it doesnt eat the hand, so you get 3 power without lowering conflag damage. Thats why i say its more agressive.
Tho overall id like haunted as the better creature
Haunted dead is much better then the scrape. The discard outlet is great utility for this deck, especially if you drew amalagams as discarding those to it makes them trigger right away.
The other card might be good if there's ever a playable all in dredge deck. That would have to be a totally different list then the one most of us are working with. For the loam conflagarate list it seems terrible.
Which I'm not opposed to. But again, 8 creatures plus 2 gargadon, gives 10 ways to trigger bridge. I still think the deck wont be good enough WITHOUT a grave sac outlet ya know? Thats my issue. But if that happens, suddenly Courier could be moderns LED
Cathartic Reunion looks like a straight upgrade to Tormenting Voice.
As for Perpetual Timepiece, the selling point on Shriekhorn was that it was a T1 play, so this is already much slower despite being able to be used more than three times. The anti-grave-hate abilitiy is a nice touch, but requiring two mana to activate after already requiring two mana to play makes it too slow to combat things like Leyline and T2 RIP.
Cathartic Reunion is decent, but not busted. It's still a 2 mana spell like Tormenting Voice. Being able to draw more means that you can dredge more, but sometimes the initial discard will be too steep a cost, such as against counterspells, or if you mulliganed. On the other hand, drawing more is also great for digging into answers against Leyline and RIP; you don't care what you're discarding since you won't be able to use it anyway while the enchantment is still on the field.
I'd probably cut the Tormenting Voices for it, on the condition that it gets sided out in any matchup where the opponent has counterspells. Sure, you can dump your entire hand even if it gets countered, but what do you accomplish with no lands in hand to trigger Bloodghast/flashback Looting?
Whomp whomp. I knew our best card printed would be a common.
It aint the 1 mana rummage, but it is a upgraded Ideas Unbound. Buckle in everyone, ***** just got way more stable for us.
Seriously, we can dig better for sided answers, we can miss on one mana dredges and like... still dump our whole library in the yard for 2 mana. I think this is a 4 of.
On a side note. I really love that red gets hugging as a literal card, but that so doesn't fit my dredge flavor. "Alright, I'm going to hug my mom, then go a little crazy by forgetting what these trolls and imps are, then I remember them, and put them in my hand by going really crazy, like half my library-mind crazy. Thanks Mom."
Hmm, Catharic Reunion conflicts with conflagrate (a bit) but is a sure 4 in my main replacing Tormenting Voice, not sure about the 2cc artifact thou. I think i'm going for 4 faithless & 4 Catharic. Can't find a better replacement for shriekhorn atm
I agree its not the 1 mana rummage izzet. And you might be right about the cost of it being too much, but I think its the best we got with the tools that are in front of us. I wouldnt mind running this as a 1/2 of if we had something better than horn at 1 mana.
I'm upset. I recently invested a whole $4 to buy foil Tormenting Voices lol!
for real - nice addition. Glad to be upgrading to Cathartic Reunion in my deck.

Cathartic Reunion is just bananas. It opens the possibility for Dredging 18 on turn 2 assuming you did nothing t1. And if you dropped say an Insolent Neonate you have the potential to have 30 cards dredged by the end of t2. Dredge was already powerful, but this gives it a small power upgrade and allows it to essentially go off faster. Unfortunately that is what got Seething Song and Summer Bloom banned so I expect a piece of dredge to get banned in the next or next after banning to slow it down.
Got wmcq this weekend, and looking to tune my sb. (or even overhaul it) The card that intrigued me is beast within. So far, we mostly use abrupt decay, EE, nature's claim, or even GB charm, and they all have their pros / cons. As for Beast within
Pro
hits everything (even land and PW, such as ugin, Enchantment such as worship, leylines)
Easier to cast, only require 1 G mana
Con
3 mana
give them a 3/3 (could be relevant when racing)
wanna check with the hivemind and see if anyone have tried it before? Was brainstorming about it, as it is an universal answer to everything
I think Cathartic Reunion puts the nail on the coffin of using Burning Inquiry, since it holds one of it's main advantages: drawing 3, with the potential of milling 18 cards (costing 1 is not much of adavantage since you can't reliably cast it on turn 1).

How does it conflict with conflagate? It's a 3 for 3, you don't get card disvantage.

I considered it once but the cost 3 is really relevant. Against the main hates the deck faces it will hold you down until turn 4, and the advantages are very situatinal. Hitting Ugin is not that big deal, since it will already have done it's job of exiling the whole field, and there are very few non-artifact, non-enchantment cards that the deck really cares.
