Ensnaring Bridge is a neat idea against those decks -- I think you should usually be able to get your hand below 4 cards to stop their 4/Xs by T3-T4. I am less certain of getting your hand slim enough to reliably shut out other aggro decks like Affinity, Humans, and Merfolk, though. Maybe Bridge could be a good 1-of if you're expecting a lot of E-Tron and Hollow One?
Another SB option is Dusk // Dawn. Dusk has overlapping application against E-Tron + Hollow One, Merfolk, and parts of Humans, but both halves seem really solid vs BGx Traverse Shadow & Jund.
I also had an unrelated question regarding Qasali Pridemage (especially in Bant): would you bring Pridemage in against Jund & Humans running 1-2x Grafdigger's Cage? To me, if they're going to stick a Cage earlier than we can Chord or CoCo for Pridemage in response then Pridemage isn't a very reliable answer. And outside of answering Cage the Pridemage is just an exalted bear... so I'm leaning towards not bringing in Pridemage and just accepting a few tough matches where they resolve an early cage. Is this the right call?
@shelldell, no humans in my meta but lots of grafdigger's cage. I've gotten used to often bringing in Pridemage against random decks I suspect have cage. If they do stick a cage early game then that sucks but I'd rather have an answer to blow them out of the water than none at all. It's also at its worst a 2/2 with exalted like you said. That's perfect for our plan b of attacking our opponent. This is the reason Pridemage used to be main deck. There are probably also pretty bad cards you can cut in those matchups so Pridemage doesn't have much opportunity cost associated with it.
I agree that boarding in a Pridemage or Rec Sage prophylacticly is the best practice. I run 2 Decay and almost always bring it in. I've even toyed with the idea of cutting the 4th Chord for a Path to make room in the SB for something. Not sure what.
What do you guys think of [card]Auriok Champion[/[card] in the current meta game? The targeted removal is almost all red or black. It stonewalls basically everything but Hollow One against that deck. Powerhouse against burn. Stone walls basically everything against Ponza.
Choke should definitely be included. It hits Jeskai, UW and Grixis really hard. There are other random blue based decks that it hits hard as well. If you want to make a blue mage cry, drop a choke onto the battlefield.

And just hoping to draw the one-of in the deck? I don't think this is to way to attack blue control decks.

UW is also already close to a bye, and URx can be better fought with Voice (which is also good vs BGx, Burn and Zooish decks).
Here's my current list - it varies wildly from what others have been doing, not because I value that aspect but because I believe that's how it should be done atm.
What do you guys think?

Blasting station, one of my pet cards, OMG ;-)
I like the evolution into trophy mage into blasting station... But I don't like the 4 rallies, even with 12 fetches...
Nice build, thanks for sharing your creativity. Sideboard needs rework, though (thinking of graveyard hate)
Rallier is a combo piece with Saffi and Blasting Station, while also letting you rebuy Druid, add to your board position with Voice or even Ramp/Draw. It's the best card in the deck!
Why do you say I need GY hate? Everything other than Grishoalbrand can be effectively raced, and without cantrips to find my hate pieces, I'm ok being bad against that.

I would personally throw a Scavenging Ooze in there simply for more attrition based graveyard shenanigans like Eternal Witness and Snapcaster Mage. Not sure if that is what the other person was referring to, but I have forgone Dredge hate myself.
Round 1 vs. Burn. Won the die roll. Comboed out on turn 3 to win after some Goblin Guides and a Swiftspear pecked away at me. In the next game, I draw land after land. Despite getting a Kitchen Finks, he gets there since I didn't draw much else and Searing Blaze got another creature. In the final game, I think I made a punt. I knew he had Skullcrack from an early Tidehollow Sculler. I couldn't go for a Chord for Kitchen Finks because he can Skullcrack in response and I'll have to pay 1 life for Horizon Canopy to Chord. So, I Chord for Scavenging Ooze, planning on untapping and gaining 2 life. He does Lightning Bolt to the Ooze and I can't gain life because Horizon Canopy will be net 0 life. If I had Chorded for Tidehollow Sculler, I would have been able to take the Bolt or Skullcrack, then his drawing Path to Exile couldn't have gotten my Vizier out of the way to swing for lethal with a Skullcrack to kill me. Was kind of hoping he'd draw air, but he found his 3rd Bolt and Path to Exile on consecutive turns. Not completely sure if the Tidehollow Sculler was the right option, but it would have won me the game. 1-2.
Round 2 vs. Jund. In the first game, I have Kitchen Finks and Viscera Seer. I Collected Company, hoping to end it with Vizier of Remedies. Got BoP and another Kitchen Finks instead. I flood out and he gets enough Terminate and Bloodbraid Elves to get me in time. In the next game, it is similar, but I top deck Devoted Druid, play it AND Chord of Calling for 0 since Grafdigger's Cage is in play. It flips my Duskwatch Recruiter back so if I untap next turn, I get to go infinite. He plays Bloodbraid Elf into discard, not getting anything. I survive at 1 life, then get infinite mana into all my Green creatures in play. Even though it's only 1-1 and he can still get 3-1, he scoops to play with his friends. Odd, the way I drew, I feel like the match could easily have gone his way. 2-1.
Round 3 vs. Eldrazi Aggro. He mulls to 4 and I do turns 2-3 Tidehollow Scullers, taking 2 Thought-Knot Seer. He can't recover. He mulls to 6 in the next one and has good pressure while my 2 lander doesn't pan out. He Gut Shot me for lethal. In the final game, he mulls to 4 again. I do Tidehollow Sculler to see SSG and double Thought-Knot Seer when he has 2 Ghost Quarter in play. I take the SSG and he doesn't find Eldrazi Temple, which gives me time to get there. 2-1.
Round 4 vs. Jund. He scoops to me. He didn't want to take a chance that he would get sick. He was the friend of the Round 2 guy. This guy also was the first player on Grixis (Twin) to beat me when I ran Grishoalbrand back int he days in a cash tournament. I told him a Judge could shuffle each time, but he didn't want to go through the trouble. He was a cool guy. He made sure I didn't feel offended, which I didn't. I understand not wanting to get sick if you're a bit susceptible. Interesting win, but I'll take it! 2-0.
3-1, not bad. Been getting some winning streaks going after 2-2ing for the past Feb. and Jan. pretty much.

Wow, how did I get matched up with Reid Duke round 1 o_o ... going 1-1 with 3 points though.
EDIT: Dropped at 1-5-0 Team, 2-4-0 Personal
Round 1: Reid on Jund - What can I say? His team mopped the floor with us. Still nice to get matchup experience. Also didn't help I bricked completely on Company twice. (0-1)
Round 2: Jeremy on RG Eldrazi - Can't remember much except winning, losing, then winning after a grindy af game where I was abusing recruiter to dig out a singleton Rec Sage. (1-1)
Round 3: Lance on Gifts Storm - Won game 1 easily enough, but unfortunately even with Canonist he gets there both game 2 and game 3. Takeaway: Learn when to be the control deck. (1-2)
Round 4: James on Jeskai Breach - Game 1 and 3 I combo off easily, Game 2 however he throws a curveball at me by Breaching into Emrakul 1.0. Despite winning that match though, my teammates dont do as well and we are down. (1-3)
Round 5: Caleb on G Tron - It's Tron. (1-4)
Round 6: Robert on Naya Humans - This goes to show how inexperienced I am with the formst anymore; I had not considered Humans running Thalia 2.0, which cripples a lot of things I can do especially with Knightfall. Game 1 and 2 went quickly in my opponent's favor. (1-6)
Deck is doing fine. I have played it with much success at FNM and it has been constantly showing up on the MTGO 5-0 competitive deck lists. A few copies have even shown up in the top 32 of a SCG Open.
Ok, so 3-2 and then 4-1 my last 2 leagues with Finks Combo. In 10 leagues I have a 55% win percentage with Finks Combo on MtGO and something like 33% with Knight based versions. Haven’t tried the Bant lists yet. Unified Will seems sweet, Spell Queller seems poorly positioned with all of the Lightning Bolts running around and it’s mediocrity against Tron.
After a lot of trial and error, here’s where I’m at currently:
After a long winding road I’ve come back to something very close to what I started with. I have a much deeper understanding of why everything is in here, and the strengths and weaknesses of alternative options.
Ultimately, this is a creature combo deck first and a value deck second. It is not a beat down deck. This is a deck that should be able to win whenever it untaps with a Devoted Druid in play, and should be able to quickly reload if the first Druid is killed, either by assembling the Finks combo in one turn or by using Witness, Collected Company, and Tireless Tracker to quickly catch up on resources. Games where the opponent can simultaneously keep you off of your combo while also advancing its own board are the games you lose.
After sideboard you are looking to disrupt your opponent’s plan while protecting your own. This is where cards like Pithing Needle, Sin Collector, Tidehollow Sculler and Burrenton Forge-Tender shine so well. You can either protect your Druid / Vizier or take away their win condition as necessary.
The flex slots to me are the Selfless Spirit and the 3rd Eternal Witness, which could be Voice of Resurgence or the 4th Recruiter.
Flex slots in the board are Pontiff, Sculler, Tracker #3 and Path #3. Other options are Reclamation Sage, something like Big Game Hunter or additional Scavenging Oozes and Fulminator Mages.
I just played this deck for the first time yesterday. What is the best way to play against removal heavy decks? My sequencing was abysmal.
Pre-board play Companies and Chords at eot or in response to them tapping out and refrain from playing Druid by itself.
Post-board bring in Scavenging Ooze and whatever recursion you can; Ooze itself will weaken Snapcaster and Eternal Witness shenanigans whereas recursion for youself will help against almost all forms of removal.
