Grishoalbrand really only has 6 creatures that we are OK with/can put in the graveyard. I think we're going to have a pretty tough time turning it on consistently. Also it still attacks on the same axis as our plan A which is another reason why I'm not high on the card in this archetype.
As someone has already said though, it pairs great with Living End if that's your cup of tea..
I would only run Secrets in the Ooze version, which got a ton of tools over the past few sets and might be overall on a higher power level than what the Shoal version offers, if we develop a refined list.

please share with the class when you have a list. I want to try it out
Sounds reasonable. Thought there could be a way to play it if I played Neonate in place of other discard. But that does make everything else worse, so it's an easy no-go.
I'll try Discovery, possibly with a Watery Grave in sb.
Neonate is not a bad idea but it's a significantly worse card than our other enablers. and I think getting TWO in the gy rather than one is going to be much harder than we think. I'll be happy to be wrong and find out this card is busted if it is though..
Also I highly doubt that Dispersal is worth splashing for, but who knows.
Tinkering around currently. Went of an old brew of mine where I was not playing a Griselbrand deck but an Ooze deck. Having nothing solid so far, but Secrets is nuts in that deck so far (you can reliable tutor for X=3, which is nice).

about the surveil mechanic say i cast a discovery//dispersal and i choose to bin a land & a worldspine wurm.do i shuffle the wurm first then draw?..or do i draw first then shuffle the wurm?

Wurm is a trigger, so you first draw and than shuffel. If it would have been Blightsteel, than you would first shuffel and than draw. Difference is that one is a replace effect and one is a trigger.

Any updates?
Last Friday I played a 18 people tournament on my lgs and went 3-2-1. Won against GW auras (2-1), Bant spirits (2-1) and Jeskai Control (1-0), lost to affinity (1-2) and tied against a company aggro deck. On top 8 I lost to grixis ds (1-2).
Hi guys. Traded into all the cards for the deck over the GP Liverpool weekend.
Would appreciate any current lists that everyone is considering suitable at the moment. I realise we may be in a lull in terms of meta and popularity but I've been wanting to trade into grishoalbrand for years. Apparently now was the time.
Without knowing anything about the deck I've been wondering whether cards like woodfall primus are a good sideboard option as a breach target against tricksy noncreature permanents. Maybe? Likewise hornet queen. Would like to hear your thoughts.

Hope you didn't sold Eternal Command man
Regarding lists, there are currently two different approaches, lists with Discovery and lists without Discovery (basically 4 Discovery + 2 Whispers vs 4 Whispers and 2 Hugs/Tormenting Voice). All of them are "straight" BR with maybe a tiny G splash for Trophy/Grudge (if you want to play those cards), most common lists looks like this: http://www.starcitygames.com/decks/125454
Regarding possible SB Breach targets, I would rather play Emmi above (close to all of) them. And even than I wouldn't really want her, cause I do not rate it that high. The thing is, Breach creatures should do the following things:
- Win the game on their own (either at the spot or leave bodies behind)
- or gives you such a huge advantage, that it is hard to lose (Emmi)
Woodfall Primus would leave a body behind, which is more often than not to small (5/5 is meh against Goyfs, Anglers, Champions, Dredge and Lightning Axe decks). Hornet Queen sucks even more on this regard, since it doesn't even win the game on it's own (would rather play Bitterbloosm above it). There are some creatures which looked nice (Darigaaz Reincarnated due to the TTB synergies and Razaketh, the Foulblooded cannot sac himself (would have made him instantly playable, since he would allow to chain Goryo's together on his own)) but had a glaring issue or two.
So nope, currently little no no reason to play anything else than Grisel, Wurm, Borbor and maybe Emmi if you want to.

just out of curiosity, would arclight phoenix work in a griselbrand deck shell? I have never played the deck but I was thinking there are good ways of drawing cards and discarding. I just thought maybe it would be a decent idea and curious if anyone has toyed with that idea?

It looks like a shoal-less build, which then I don't understand why having griselbrand in there in the first place. Anyone get a chance to see the full list?
He played two different lists (catched a stream where he was playing again). In the first night he played Shoalless, Looting, Discovery, Hugs, Morphose, Phoenix, Griselbrand and Emmi (with both Goryos and TTB).
The second night was a Shoal build with 4 Phoenixes and Discovery, but I have no idea what he cut (he went off once so saw a lot of cards but I didn't saw any "missing" cards to say it this way).

5-0 in competitive MTGO, with Discovery // Dispersal and Doom Whisperer (?).
