I always thought that if Titanshift going to play BBE, might as well play Solemn Simulacrum instead. Ramp and a body. With BBE, we thinned 2 cards off library immediately (assuming we find a ramp spell) but Solemn Simulacrum thinned 1 card etb and 1 card when died.
I was the one that finished 9th on tie breakers =/
Solemn works fine. I tested BBE but was having problems when i was cascading. Sometimes needed to cascade ramp spell and cascade into de removal. And cascading into Pactnis the worst thing.
Did a little report in the facebook group (:

Congratulations anyway ! If you don't mind to post your report here too ?
Well, this is what ive written in the Scapeshift's facebook group (:
First, my english is really bad, so sorry (:
Finished 9th at GP Sao Pablo, I already posted the list but can post it again, no problem. I got really lucky in some rounds but it was not enough :/
It all started right just winning a GPT, so i got 2 byes.
R3: TRON (won 2-0)
Not much to say here, my opponent went to 5 and couldnt assamble tron before i played shift. G2 a Sphere gave me enough time.
R4: HUMANS (won 2-0)
This is a fine mu, can be treacky but is important how they played it. If they went nut hand like Affinity (more on this later), its a nightmare. Well, he kept a normal hand, mine was better (:
R5: KCI (won 2-0)
This is when I started feeling lucky. I know this is a not good mu, but sometimes you can get away with it. G1, somehow, he couldnt find the combo but i did. G2, he kept a one land hand and conceded the game without playing a second one (:
R6: Humans (lost 1-2)
He drew stupid hand and won, not much to say.
R7: Humans (won 2-1)
Well, in G1, i being on the draw, he attacked for 15 on his turn 3. Sick, right? It was like this
- T1: Vial.
- T2: Champion, Champion. Eot tapped vial for a Noble Hierarch.
- T3: Mantis, vialed a Phantasmal Image coping the Mantis, attack.
I cant recall G2 and 3, but my life finished at 17 and 16, playing a Baloth in both games.
R8: BBE Shift (won 2-0)
I find the combo sonner and G2 played 2 Baloth, Omen and Shift (:
DAY TWO!
R9: Abzan Traverse (Yes, the same player that was finalist and took the 8th seed, won 2-0)
G1 He played Inquisition of Kosi, discarding Anger (my hand got a Prismatic Omen). Played the Omen. He forgot that Decay destroys Omen (he told me that after the game), and that lonely Omen with the help of 2 Valakuts cleaned the table and won.
G2 was a spicy one. I was at 4, with 6 lands in play, my hand was a Sakura, Baloth, land (already played one for the turn) and Shift. He got in played Goyf (i think it was 5/6), Grimm Flyer (4/4), Rhino and one Treetop Village. I could play STE, sac it, went for Shift to clean the board and then wait to win. Or i can played STE and the Baloth, gained 4 life to be at 8, block properly and won on my turn if he didnt drew discard or removal. That was a risky play, but i could win without drawing nothing else, so i went that way and it paid off (:
R10: Storm (won 2-0)
After this round i thought was going to win the whole thing lol. G1 he kept a one lander, won easily. G2 my hand was not the best, but got me there. At some point he has no Blood Moon, no Baral or Electromancer. With 4 lands in play, 3 in hand (one was a Valakut), Shift and Prismatic Omen (this card is amazing, more on this later). Played Omen, Valakut (5 lands in play now), pass. He drew, played land tapped and pass. I drew Explore, played a land (3 dmg), played Explore and the 2th land (3 dmg), played Shift. Resolved. Went for the safe rout and searched 6 mountains and GG
R11: Mardu (the winner, lost 0-2)
G1 i drew the Reclamation Sage which was discarded and then he played Blood Moon and lost because didnt drew a Titan or Pact.
G2 i drew poorly and lost with a blood Moon and a rabblemaster.
R12: Humans (won 2-0)
G1 he got me down to 13 but i won. G2 i played Baloth, when got in play 7 lands drew a Titan. He vialed a Mage, think for while and name Scapeshift so won from there.
R13: UW control ID.
Why do i drew?. Because he is my friend and we both gamble that if we won the last 2 rounds (which we did) we could both top 8. I finished 9th and he 10th =/
R14: Humans (won 2-1)
Won G1, lost a quickly G2 and won G3 doing the Titan dance (!?)
R15: CoCo (won 2-1)
Lost G1 by flooding a lot. G2 i literally drew whatever i wanted, it was like this:
I got 4 lands in play, a Prismatic Omen (this card is huge) and a Summoner's Pact. Drew Shift. My opponent got 3 lands and a Visera Seer. I got nothing to disrupt the combo. I can play Omen and left 2 mana ope to try to bluff something or take the risk. Went that way, Pact STE, played it and the Omen and pass. Opponent drew, play land tapped, attacked so i blocked and searched for a mountain. I needed Bolt or Valakut to kill the Seer.
Payed the pact, drew Valakut and killed Seer. Opponent drew, played something and passed. Untapped thinking "have to draw Titan and win" and i drew it. G3 played Sweltering t3 to kill a Finks and a BoP, 2 turns later played Titan. Next attacked, and play Shift and won (:
I was really happy until the top 8 anouncement.
I know that it is a really good finished, but was sooooooooo close to finally playing at the Pro Tour =/
Want to thanks Matheus Akio Yanagiura for being such a cool guy, we met, played in round 8 and then support each other every round. Congrats on your finish!!.
And thank every one, the idea of the Reclamation Sage main was from the guy hay toped at the classic last weekend. I cant remember his name, but that was clever and usefull.
Sorry if this is long, thanks for reading it (:
Thanks for the report. I know you'll get to the Pro Tour - keep grinding. It looks like you ran into a bit of rough luck and beating Humans 4-1 overall for a close matchup sounds good. It seems that Reclamation Sage was good for you and I have already been thinking about that. I'm going to make that change right now. I guess I may try Prismatic Omen again.

Reclamation Sage was more usefull at the GPT were i face mirror with KHE, Mardu, Mono white taxes and RW prision. With mardu being one of the most played decks, you really need an out to Blood Moon!.
Beat KCI, G Tron and Humans tonight for 3-0 at FNM.
I have to say Damping Sphere is an absolute allstar and won me both postboarded games against KCI and one against Tron.
Humans seem like a decent match up with 4 or 5 sweepers postboard and some bolts. I sided some Baloths in as well to quell the bleeding on the ground. Bought me enough time to Omen-control his board til I drew a Titan some 5 turns later
Good job man. Good to see you still Shifting some fools.
KCI seems tough. But Damping Sphere is a good call for the SB because just like in GBx, it's hard for the opponent to side in a card that only kills that, although with Prismatic Omen as well, it seems a bit tougher here.
I personally don't think that we need Damping Sphere against Tron because we're already favored. That being said, if I had Damping Sphere in the side, I most definitely would side it in obviously. Right now I have 2 Crumble to Dust and I think that's the slot that's not pulling it's weight. Tron is a pretty close, die roll dependent matchup, so it's good to get some extra help. I'm also trying to make some room for 2 Prismatic Omen myself after seeing elpeludo get 9th.
Humans is also a pretty close matchup in my opinion, so you did a really good job. How often have you been playing recently?

KCI is tough. I had to have Sphere and Relic both on the field game 2 to have a chance. Then the last game he got antsy when I came out with multiple ramp spells at the start, and tried to go off on turn 3 but fizzled. I untapped and slammed a damping sphere and that was it
Not really needed for Tron but really helpful. These recent monogreen iterations hit turn 3/4 tron with frightening consistency. In the 3 games we played, he had turn 3 tron twice and turn 4 tron once. Luckily he couldn't produce any karn, just a Wurmcoil that STE can fog. The last Game he had planned to slam t4 Ulamog before I cast the Damping Sphere and that's all it took.
Quite a versatile card I must say.
Humans seem okay barring those Thalia, Kitesail Meddling Made starts.
Haven't been playing much but getting back in the groove in time for PPTQ season.
Played a local LGS Modern night with a Bloodbraid Elf List (no Prismatic Omen).
Played against Monoblue Tron.
Game 1 denial kept me from the win and then Mindslaver allowed him to scapeshift ME to death... first game with Scapeshift and I get Scapeshifted...
Game 2 I had an early Damping Sphere. He only saw remand for my Scapeshift so I just got to cast it three times to win (note, almost screwed up and tried to cast it forgetting about the cost increase from the Sphere)
Game 3 None of my hate resolved and he was on the play with turn 4 tron. That pretty much did it.
Game one I will say I mananged to get rid of wurmcoil AND tokens with careful triggers off of Valakut and a Sweltering Suns. It was a pretty good line of play, but then I got card advantaged out of the game.
Match 2 was against Seismic Swans. For those of you who might not know, that's this deck:
He was just able to combo faster than me both games. I did get to bolt his Swans of Bryn Argoll digging for some kind of answer (double bolt actually to draw six cards ... hello Ancestral Recall)
Unfortunately, destroying the Seismic before the swans comes down is fine. However, once both the Swans and Seismic Assault are down the deck can go off at instant speed . Game two he actually almost burned through his whole deck getting lethal (one card left) but got there. Not a good match up, but fringe so not a big deal.
Game three was against Lantern Control. I actually went 2-1 which was pretty cool because I've literally never played against Lantern before. The plethora of sideboard hate for artifacts and enchantments was pretty useful here.
Game one he hated me out of the game with Witchbane Orb and Ensnaring Bridge.
Game two he kept a no-lander because he had card draw and Leyline of Sanctity. However, I had turn 2 Nature's claim. He drew off of Bauble and for turn, saw no lands and went "Welp..." and scooped his cards up. It was pretty funny.
Game three was a lot more grind. Basically, I had an out every time he played a lantern and he immediately had to have me shuffle it away. I won by eventually landing a titan with plenty of mountains and fetching a second Valakut.
Overall, I liked playing this deck. Definitely gonna continue with it. Wish I could remember matches in more detail. Generally, I'm pretty clear on places in match ups where I messed up. Tron sucked to play against as usual. At least it was blue tron?
Greetings all. Non Valakut/ Titanshift player here, evaluating sideboard options to help against this deck.
How would you answer an Alpine Moon naming Valakut? Or is it basically stuck once in play? Many thanks
I would bring in 1x Reclamation Sage out of the SB if I expected Alpine Moon. And I already maindeck 2x Summoner's Pact to help find it. However, it matters what I am playing against. I think I would probably just beat face with a Titan and ignore the Moon.

I'm really on the fence about Bloodbraid Elf. She's so inconsistent despite having tuned the deck to maximize her. If I swapped her out for Solemn Simulacrum, I could run Engineered Explosives and better removal than Seal of Fire. I'm already taking a risk not willing to remove the 2x Summoner's Pact, which truly feels bad to hit sometimes. Has anyone already faced this problem?
Tireless Tracker is a flex in the main. I sometimes consider replacing it with a quality removal spell to break up infinite combos or a sweeper for Humans and other decks that commit a lot to the board early.
Thought I'd post here to generate some discussion. Any feedback is appreciated. Really liking the deck so far.

Firstly, this is just my opinion. Get many opinions before you choose.
As for main deck Relic of Progenitus, I'm actually NOT very sure. I do think you need to hedge against graveyard decks right now, as BridgeVine is the hot ***** currently. It also has applications vs. stuff that we lose to, like KCI, Storm, Grishoalbrand, and many others. It is more of an experiment right now and I don't have time to personally test it. I do know however that it is okay to run some number of Relic of Progenitus main, as I did during Grixis Shadow. At the worst, it is 2 colorless mana to cycle, which admittedly isn't good against quick decks. But you can side it out vs. those and games 2 and 3 are more important anyway. However it is nice to hedge a bit in Game 1.
Even my area's Bring to Light "Champion" and another guy who ran it often as well have ditched it. Titanshift is just much stronger, but Bring to Light can be much more fun. It just depends on what you are looking for.
3 Obstinate Baloth is a hedge for GBx and Burn, as well as having a diverse threat. Those others don't do the same thing as Baloth. Thrun is more a hedge vs. Jeskai and a very good one at that. I found it better than Gaea's Revenge in this situation, but it's less flexible in other matchups. Baloth also has the added utility in being amazing in our terrible matchup of Hollow One. Burning Inquiry, oh damn, I have to discard Baloth? Oh noes! The card is just more flexible and when you're facing some odd 8 Rack deck in Round 1, you will be HAPPY that you have 3 Obstinate Baloth. Believe me.

Overall, I liked playing this deck. Definitely gonna continue with it. Wish I could remember matches in more detail. Generally, I'm pretty clear on places in match ups where I messed up. Tron sucked to play against as usual. At least it was blue tron?

I actually am in favor of running 4 main deck Relic of Progenitus and 2 Prismatic Omen. A list would probably look something like this offhand.
4 Wooded Foothills
3 Windswept Heath
4 Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle
3 Stomping Ground
3 Cinder Glade
7 Mountain
3 Forest
4 Primeval Titan
1 Reclamation Sage
3 Lightning Bolt
2 Prismatic Omen
3 Farseek
4 Search for Tomorrow
4 Relic of Progenitus
4 Scapeshift
2 Summoner's Pact
1 Anger of the Gods
1 Sweltering Suns
Not sure what the SB would be. Maybe something like this?
2 Ancient Grudge
1 Anger of the Gods
1 Crumble to Dust
1 Beast Within
1 Thrun, the Last Troll
1 Reclamation Sage
1 Nature's Claim
3 Obstinate Baloth
2 Roast

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)As for main deck Relic of Progenitus, I'm actually NOT very sure.
Believe me.

Is there any good (and updated?) Sideboardguide to look for?
