I'm trying that deck atm. Feels good vs a tapped out control deck to breach in Titan and bring in some valakuts. They dont expect a Titan on 4 or 5 lands. From there it just snowballs with path to exile or even field of ruin.
Need to test it more thou, I feel comfortable with traditional titanshift...
splashed in the one list for Renegade Rallier, that was a surprise. I like the idea behind it, its a "snapcaster-effect" for most of our decks permanents.
Personally I never got around to testing much white plash, always wanted to try Nahiri, the Harbinger
So how do we beat UB Mill decks? Only way I see it is going with the through the breach deck and have an Emrakul in sideboard. With a standard scapeshift+primeval titan I dont see how we could win. Sideboard in couple Primal Command could work but only if we have it in the starting hand since they will probably be put in graveyard anyway.

We don't. Mill isn't enough of the meta to want to dedicate sideboard cards to the matchup, and even if it was, I don't think anything we could put in would actually help the matchup.

Well, I can saw a woman in two, but you won't wanna look in the box when I'm through.

I like the Renegade Rallier version. With 7-8 fetches and STE, it is almost like a bigger version of Wood Elves. The problem is sequencing the land drop and to play around so that your white source is not so vulnerable to land destruction like Ghost Quarter or Field of Ruin. Of course we can slot in Plains for safety, but I've experienced several occasion where if I drew a Mountain or a ramp spell, I would have win the game, but instead I drew the third colour basic land (that 1 and only in the deck).
Btw on Mill match up, if one is concern about it, yeah a single Gaea's Blessing might help.
Just bought the deck done about 6 leagues with good results outside of weird draws and matchup. I'm doing a non bbe version. Is the consensus bbe is just better?
I've been experimenting with BBE for the past week or so, and just took them out to test the other side. It seems to just come down to do you want to pay 4 mana on turn 3 for a bolt/fog effect + ramp and occasional whiff, or do you want to jam two ramp spells.
I've cut the BBE for 2x Explore, the 27th land, and another sweeper effect, and I think it might be a slight bit stronger.
I've cut the bbe after a few leagues did not seem as powerful also the lack of rec sage in my build hurt. I've been doing the list that keeps going 5-0 except I'm not running ee for budget reasons as I only buy what I win on modo right now
The rationale for Blodbraid Elf is to have an extra body for combat purposes who hits a ramp spell most of the time and sometimes a sweeper.
If we're already paying 4 mana, why not taking the RNG out of the equation and play Wild Wanderer or Ondu Giant instead?
Bloodbraid is great because of the obvious- yes most of the time he's ramping you. But he also acts as a sweeper a good amount of time, or removal. The first time you cascade into anger vs a board of elves or any aggro deck you will be sold. The RNG really isnt as random as you would think, its simply accelerating the drawing and casting of the next CMC 3 card in your deck.
Also Bloodbraid is really good at pressuring plainswalkers, as well as being great vs control strategies.
At the very least I would recommend giving the BBE variant a shot. You may like it, you may not. I havent looked back since I put it in the deck. And understand that its mostly not going to be as flashy as a Jund BBE into K-command or what have you, but it still functions very well in Titanshift regardless.
I did two leagues with bbe didn't like it. Maybe it was my build maybe I played suboptimly but I missed ee so I cut it and went back to other styles. I'm liking the deck a lot. Been exploring other cards and builds
I think it's time for this deck to shine again! The meta, at least locally, seems to be getting very fair. I even tried Amulet Titan last WNM, but had a bit of a rough time (2-2).

I've been bruising up my LGS the last couple of weeks with this. Faced and put away Jeskai and Affinity this week. Things seem to be looking up. Just put a MB rec sage just in case.
Should we not run chandra torch of defiance, courser of kruphix, or hour of promise anymore? They all seem to be gone from most lists. I was also wondering why they're gone... I'm guessing they're too slow.
Should obstinate baloth be a 1-of in the mainboard?
In the recent 5-0 list dump there was a cool looking Valakut/Titan/Through the Breach deck. Is there any kind of discussion on this list variation here? Or somewhere you could point me to to get more information, maybe some videos?
There was an 8th place list by a cameron cline. I thought some of his choices were too cute but I actually like the single worldspine wurm; you can consistently search for it off a pact and I think it lets breach variants fight blood moon a little better
Round 1 vs. Jeskai Tempo. The guy was trying out a new deck. He's a really good player that usually plays his BUG deck. I just had too many Lightning Bolts for his stuff, so he couldn't get me low enough to Remand enough Titans/Scapeshifts to win. I got there fairly easily, although in some extra games for fun, I got Mana Tithed a couple of time, lol. 2-0.
Round 2 vs. Mono Green Tron. He mulls to 4 and I ramp quickly, but don't find a win-con. I do get Thragtusk on turn 3 and active Valakut to move a Walking Ballista out of the way and swing for lethal soon thereafter. In the next game, he gets turn 4 Tron, but no Ulamog and I get Titan and swing him low enough to kill him the turn before Ulamog came down. Whew! 2-0.
Round 3 vs. Humans. In the first game, I Bolt a Noble Hierarch, but he gets Kitesail Freebooter to get my 2nd Bolt. I have lands and only draw more lands. A Lightning Bolt in the end and 1 active Mountain off Valakut couldn't quite get me there. In the next game, I do Scapeshift pretty soon after 2 Bolts get me there. In the final game, he goes for a Meddling Mage in response to a fetchland off Aether Vial, naming Anger of the Gods, then saying, nope, Sweltering Suns. Well, I had both and got him then and 2 turns later, then casting a Thragtusk while he got air and with 3 active Valakuts, it's elementary from there. A top decked Mantis Rider would have won it though. 2-1.
Round 4 vs. Jeskai Control. We ID and he left early, so we didn't play for fun. 0-0-3.
I get 3-0-1 with the deck. I may have to try this for Las Vegas. Still deciding between this, Grishoalbrand, and Bogles. I played a list similar to the Modern Challenge list, but I cut 1 Growth Spasm (I thought it was too much) for a Thragtusk and played a slightly different SB. Good list I think!

Seems like Thragtusk put in some work for you. How do you like it? I personally am not in favour of Thraggy as it usually comes down turn 4 unless you get the S4T + t2 ramp opening hand, and T4 can be a bit too slow.
Still on the Bloodbraid list? I don't like BBE in this deck at all.
