So I went 13-2 in matches online so far just learning the deck and making lots of mistakes... One of the losses was a total give away to UR Phoenix that I had won. I ran into a couple coco/chord decks and wasn't exactly sure how to board against those, but still won anyway. I'm still not sure which order to play lands/spells sometimes and every time I use Scapeshift I'm worried I'm gonna screw something up Are there any good active streamers to watch using this deck? or any other advice on anything, thanks!
Anyone try faithless looting? It showed up in some 5-0's in titan-breach lists.
Yeah I have 2. It's really good. You miss it a bit when you need Lightning Bolt and you've used them so long, but yeah I ran 2 of those and 2 Flame Slash. I think I am going to cut all 4 for 4 mainboard Chalice of the Void though.

Round 1 vs. Burn. I Breach a Titan to kill him the turn before he probably kills me. In the next game, I couldn't find a dude. He burns me out. In the last game, I do an Obstinate Baloth in the midgame, then find a Prime Time to get there later on. His hand was a bit slow and he got stuck on 2 lands for a bit. 2-1.
Round 2 vs. UR Phoenix. I couldn't find a dude. I can't find a land in time and draw 2 more Summoner's Pacts before I die again early on. 0-2.
Round 3 vs. UW Control. He got a Game Loss for a Deck list Registration Error. In the next game, he doesn't play anything. I don't either, but have Valakut ticking up. I don't see land destruction, so I keep slow rolling. He taps out to Blessed Alliance 1 of 2 Sakura-Tribe Elders that were slowly picking away, tapping out. I Prime Time and it's over. Round 5 vs. UR Phoenix. On turn 3, I miscalculated his life total, so I could only Breach him to 1 life. If I knew the correct life total, I would have Anger of teh Gods 2 Phoenix and then hoped to dodge triple Lightning Bolt the next turn to win with Breach. HUUUGE PUNT and mistake! But I never find Reclamation Sage or the Summoner's Pact and he gets a 2nd Blood Moon on the turn before lethal, so I need Breach AND Woody Wood, but don't have either. GGs. 0-2.
Round 6 vs. Hardened Scales. I stabilize after he puts me low, but Anger of the Gods slowed him the F down. In the next 2 games, I Abrade and kill a couple of dudes before losing to Ravager, Walking Ballista, and Inkmoth Nexus. Sad times. I kind of stumbled around and hope to draw the nut kill. 0-2.

Also I wouldn't give that guy too much credit. My ex-teammate told me he was doing some very shifty stuff when they played on Day 2 of the GP Sacramento. So, I watched him carefully in a Day 1 match I played him in another GP, but nothing seemed fishy. I was on Bogles and he barely lost on Hollow One. He was my friend on Scales only loss on Day 1 of this GP, but I forgot to tell my friend to watch him carefully. (I was too busy scrubbing the **** out of the GP.)
I played in the GP and the PTQ with RG Breach. Had rough results.
Rounds 1 and 2 - Byes.
Round 3 vs. Abzan Company. I did Anger of the Gods in both games. I had to exile a Simian Spirit Guide in Game 1 to slow his dork into dork and Scavenging Ooze start. I considered waiting, but didn't want some odd shenanigans of Chord of Calling into Selfless Spirit or something else to stop me. I had fairly quick goldfish hands after that. 2-0.
Round 4 vs. UR Phoenix. In the first game, he doesn't find turn 2 Thing. His turn 3 Thing doesn't flip on the next turn and double Titan get him. In the next 2 games, I was literally just trying to find a land in one or a win-con in the other. Chalice of the Void would have obviously helped a bunch too. He didn't see Breach at all until I scooped in game 3 after drawing my 2nd and 3rd DEAD copy. He thought I was Titanshift. 1-2.
Round 5 vs. 8 Whack. In the first game, I turn 1 a Chalice of the Void after he does Foundry Street Denizen. He still puts the pressure on me while I wobble around trying to find a win-con. He beats me down and kills me with 5 creatures. The top of my deck = Anger of the Gods. In the next game, I have him slowed down with a Chalice of the Void on 1. But I can't find a win-con again and he does Smash to Smithereens into Mogg War Marshal and double Grenade while I'm at 13 life. Dead. I wasn't too upset as I probably was never going to find a win-con anyway, so I could have died any time in the next X turns. 0-2.
Round 6 vs. Experimental Affinity. He had triple Vault Skirge with Steel Overseer and Arcbound Ravager before an Anger of the Gods makes him put all the counters to kill me next turn. In the next game, he gets me with his 3rd Inkmoth Nexus (all 3 land drops on turns 1-3 were those lands) because I Breached a Woodfall Primus to kill 2 of them. Interesting game. 0-2.
Round 7 vs. Tron. Turn 3 Tron after a lot of ramping by me. I get to a point where I have him dead to double Valakut trigger if I don't draw copies 2-4 of TTB, the 4th Valakut, the 2nd Forest, 4 Chalice of the Void, or 2 Simian Spirit Guide. I draw the 2nd TTB and he beats me. In the next game, I do a similar fashion and turn 4 Tron is NOT good enough. In the final game, turn 3 Tron gets me with a bunch of Wurmcoil Engines (embarassingly enough) while I can't find much until late, where I kill 1 of them, then Rec Sage another to kill it. But he has Karn for my Titan and that's all the gas I have. 1-2.
Round 8 vs. UR Phoenix. Chalice of the Void on 1 on turn 2 and he can't flip Thing in the Ice easily. In the next game, it gets ugly. He ends up playing all 4 Thing in the Ice...which obviously means that he has hardly anything to flip them. This was just a terrible draw by him with literally no way to win...sort of like my other matches where I couldn't find Titan or Pact obviously (as Titans 5-8). 2-0.
I finish 4-4 or 2-4 not counting Byes. Absolutely destroyed. I mean, I lost to freaking 8 Whack and it wasn't close.
Sunday's MCQ.
Round 1 vs. Tron. This guy saw me when I traveled 220 mi. to his home town to play in the last PPTQ of the Modern season last Modern season. He was playing some UW Prison deck. We talk before the game and I let him know why I look familiar to him. He tells me that Standard is the format he plays a bunch and hopefully I'm not on Burn. I play turn 1 Valakut and he says, "oh no, you're on Burn." Lol. I ramp like crazy and my Prime Time, giving Valakut triggers, and Anger of the Gods are enough to wipe out 2 Wurmcoil Engines. In game 2, he cracks a Star for Green to kill me turn 2 Damping Sphere, then does all the Wurmcoil Engine and Karny stuff. No Ulamog though. I literally saw no Ulamogs this tournament. In the final game, he gets the Damping Sphere killed again, but I kill him with my 2nd Titan and a land drop after he exiles my first Titan with a turn 4 Karn. GGs. 2-1.
Round 2 vs. Spirits or Humans I think. I actually can't remember the details, but I'll get back here when I can. On PWpoints, it tells my opponent's name, but that didn't ehlp me remember. 2-0.
Round 3 vs. Burn. I do Chalice of the Void on turn 1. I do Chalice of the Void on 2 on turn 3. He loses a few turns later, although I thought he might get there with 4 more Skewer and 1 more Rift Bolt in his deck since I wasn't finding a win-con. I finally found Titan and it ended soon thereafter. In the next game, he tosses a million burn at my face and Skillcrack when I do Obstinate Baloth (since I don't think I can wait another turn to Breach Prime Time (what I used the Pact for Baloth with). Then he untaps with me at 6 and uses his 2 cards for Skillcrack and Lightning Helix. In the final game, he drops a Cindervines. He tosses so much burn at me that I cannot cast any non creature spell. I'm at 1 life. I have Through the Breach. My draw is another Through the Breach. Then I draw Summoner's Pact. Then he plays another Cindervines. I draw Search for Tomorrow. Then he draws Skullcrack and it's over. He was at 6 life and dead to Titan or I would be at 5 from a Baloth if I drew it. Too bad. I thought those Cindervines would be dead. I guess Destructive Revelry would have been much worse in this situation. 1-2.
Round 4 vs. Burn. He scoops to turn 1 Chalice of the Void on 1. SSG. I assume he's on Bogles and side 1 Rec Sage. He's not and throws a million burn spells at my head. In the next game, I had 3 turns to draw lands or ramp on earlier turns, but I can't find a single land and the ramp is on my final turn as he burns me out when I drew a 2nd Breach and a 2nd Titan. Had doubles of both. There were some mulligans here too, as well as the rest of the tournament. I probably should have remembered them and explained them here too. 1-2.
Round 5 vs. GB Rock. I beat him in the first game, as my Prime Time is just bigger than Goyf and SSG helps me do him a turn early. In the next game, he does triple Assassin's Trophy and Surgical Extraction on Valakut. I have many creatures that I sided in. In fact, I sided all except Rec Sage, but I draw ramp spells instead until my 2 Titans drawn also get Trophied. Wish I could have found something else. The next game is similar, but Valakut was not exiled. I just could get them. He took over with 2 Tireless Tracker. That thing gets much bigger than Prime Time when Valakuts are not active. 1-2.
Round 6 vs. GB Rock. There's really not much to say here. This round was almost a mirror of Round 5. 0 Trophy in game 1 again and 6 in games 2 and 3. 1-2.
So, I lost 4 in row again. Whew! Pretty bad. At this point, I couldn't imagine a worse player than myself. Probably should have mulled to 4 or 5 more often. I just didn't see those hands working out better than my sixes or fives.

I didn't see it, but I guess you could say that I had unexpected results in my tournaments. I mean, I didn't expect to top 8 or anything, but I at least figured I'd Day 2 and 4-2 pretty easily. Nope.

Very new to the deck, can someone please explain what role Hour of Promise fills? What do you normally look for?
Is it simply like casting a Primeval Titan but for 1 less mana?
I've seen it as a 1of or 2of in some lists, but it seems like a flex card. Is it better than Khalni Heart Expedition for example?
What sort of meta do you bring it in for?
My local FNM is very mixed, normally every player is on a different deck, but not too much aggro.

It's for those times when you need more than 10 win-cons (2 Summoner's Pact, 4 Prime Time, 4 Scapeshift). With 2 Hour of Promise, you can up that to 12 win-cons, which is probably better against discard and countermagic. Hour of Promise is sort of a "budget Prime Time." It usually is played alongside Khalni Heart Expedition.

Hi guys! has someone try the combo "madcap experiment/platinum emperion" in Titanshift (and not in Blue Scapeshift where it is usually played)? I saw a guy playing Mainboard to face the current metagame but I think we do not have 5 flex slots to change and so I was thinking to pure in Sideboard!

I haven't tried it before, but a guy at my LGS tried it in RG Breach. He seemed to like it, although this was a while ago.
As an aside, there is a Valakut Facebook Group and some people there have been discussing it.

Round 1 vs. Amulet Titan. Best player here. Usually runs Ad Nauseam or UR Phoenix. Mulled to 6 and got him with a lethal Scapeshift + Summoner's Pact for Sakura Tribe-Elder. In the next game, a Prime Time runs me over when it comes out too quickly. I chump block with a Tireless Tracker and die. In the final game, I get Prime Time and have Sakura Tribe-Elder up in case he gets Prime Time too. I end up getting there as I have land and ramp in hand as well. He scoops. 2-1.
Round 2 vs. Breach Titan. This is the guy I gave a ride to today, borrowing my friend's Breach deck. He Breaches me on turn 3 in all 3 games. In the first game, I am at 1 life and I Scapeshift on turn 4 on the play to win before he makes it to his turn 4. Mulled to 6 all 3 games, although he mulled to 6 in game 1 as well. 1-2.
Round 3 vs. Tron. The first round where my opponent mulled more than me, him to 5 and me to 6. I usually give him a ride, but he came early to play DC today. I end up Scapeshifting him to 1, then Scapeshift the next turn after he got Wurmcoil Engine. In the following game, I stumble and he does Ulamog and Karns. In the final game, I have the nuts ramp hand and I find Prime Time to win soon thereafter. A single Karn is not enough. 2-1.
Round 4 vs. Sultai Shadow. Makes me discard my *****, then plays a Tarmogoyf as a 5/6. I have Flame Slash and Anger of the Gods, but don't get much else and lose when I can't fetch for my 6th land to play a Prime Time. In the next game, Khalni Heart Expedition is Stubborn Denialed, then Explore into Farseek (ST Denial). He eventually puts pressure with a Shadow and a Goyf. I Pact for Chameleon Colossus, which eats a Disdainful Stroke. I have 2 ramp cards in hand, he's at 6 life with an active Valakut, he has 1 card in hand. I draw a Thrun. I cast Ramp, putting him to 3 life. I play the other. He Snapcaster Mage/Stubborn Denial for game. I needed to draw a land for lethal. Oh well. 1-2.

Round 1 vs. Tron. He wins the die roll. No Map on turn 1; only Star. Next turn, he Sylvan Scrying for the Tower. The next turn he gets Wurmcoil Engine and then another. He swings me to 1 while he's at 38. I EoT Lightning Bolt. I had Scapeshift in my opener and was hoping for a single ramp card to do 36 to him while he's at 35 after the Bolt. Nope, I draw the 5th land that I drew in 5 draw steps. Sad times. In the next game, he misses on Tron and I have a choice of doing Scapeshift to win or Prime Time to (essentially) win. He has 2 mana up and although I think most Tron lists don't run Warping Wail anymore, Prime Time cannot be answered on the stack by Tron 100%. I do that and win the next turn. Because I have ramp and land in hand, even Prime Time being exiled will allow me to do lethal. In the final game, I ramp and he misses on his 4th land (Mine, PP, and Forest in play) after I Reclamation Sage his 2nd Map. He struggled on lands. I had Prime Time and land in hand, so had he hit his 4th land drop, he could have potentially done Thought-Knot Seer. He showed me afterward that he indeed had Thought-Knot Seer. Lucky for me. 2-1.
Round 2 vs. Dredge. He won another one of these tournaments last week with Storm, so I assumed he'd turn 3 me twice and I would not see a card named Lightning Bolt, Flame Slash, or Relic of Progenitus. But I was wrong. In the first game, he gets what he needs except Creeping Chill. On his turn 3, he gets 3 Creeping Chill and I have to tap out for Prime Time next turn to lose to Conflagrate. In game 2, I have Relic of Progenitus. It slows him down a bit, as he only has Bloodghast and Narcomoeba. He does Stain the Mind on me on turn 2, convoking Bloodghast and Narcomoeba, naming Anger of the Gods. I get Prime Time and some triggers and he has 1 turn to kill me. He doesn't while he's at 5 and I have triple fetchland with double Valakut in play. Creeping Chill would get him to 8, so I'd need to draw a ramp/win-con to win next turn had that happened. In the final game, I keep on triple Mountain, Relic of Progenitus, Anger of the Gods, and some Green cards. I play Relic after he Faithless Loots. Then he does turn 2 Ancient Grudge. Him not allowing me to get the draw off it won him the game, as I drew Green mana several turns later after Anger of the Gods on his Ghast and Prized Amalgam. I do Farseek into Courser of Kruphix and he only has 0 land left in the deck. He can't trigger Bloodghasts for lethal after a Loam/Conflagrate. (I'm assuming he has 0 land because he found no land with a fetch, so he only has 1 Blood Crypt in the deck. The problem? He has Dakmor Salvage, which he finds with his 4th Looting effect of the game. Triggers 2 Bloodghasts and swings for 3 past lethal. 1-2.
Round 3 vs. Infect. This was a guy I hadn't seen in years. The last time I'd seen him was during UW Delver in Standard. In the first game, I Flame Slash his turn 1 Glistener Elf. But he untaps and Inkmoth Nexus into Blighted Agent. Then he kills me over the next 2 turns with Rancor and then a pump spell. In game 2, he mulls to 5. I Flame Slash a Glistener Elf right away and 3 turns later untap with Prime Time, Sakura-Tribe Elder, fetchland, and active 2 Valakuts. He has no chance now. In the final game, I Bolt a Glistener Elf, then Anger of the Gods a Blighted Agent. But another Blighted Agent gets Might of Old Krosa and Vines of Vastwood to get me. Didn't matter much as I didn't have a win-con yet. Things were looking blight. 1-2.
I tried to make it to a Legacy tournament elsewhere on time, but missed out, so I left immediately. Since I didn't drop, I lost at least another round. 1-3 overall.
I have now played against Infect (3 times) more than I've played against Phoenix since the Grand Prix Los Angeles. I'm kind of at the point where I want to run a deck that loses to Phoenix, but does well vs. other decks JUST so I can play against Phoenix 10 out of the next 15 rounds.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)I didn't see it, but I guess you could say that I had unexpected results in my tournaments. I mean, I didn't expect to top 8 or anything, but I at least figured I'd Day 2 and 4-2 pretty easily. Nope.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)Is it simply like casting a Primeval Titan but for 1 less mana?
I've seen it as a 1of or 2of in some lists, but it seems like a flex card. Is it better than Khalni Heart Expedition for example?
What sort of meta do you bring it in for?
My local FNM is very mixed, normally every player is on a different deck, but not too much aggro.
Modern Warp / UR Control / UR Storm / Naya Breachshift / ElectroBalance
Solidarity / Lands / Sneak and Show / Grixis Delver / Reanimator / Belcher / Storm / Dredge

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)I haven't tried it before, but a guy at my LGS tried it in RG Breach. He seemed to like it, although this was a while ago.
As an aside, there is a Valakut Facebook Group and some people there have been discussing it.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)Round 1 vs.
Oh well. 1-2.
I go 2-2. Had a rough time in Modern recently.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)Round 1 vs.
