I haven't determined the exact reason for my U/W Control match up to be "positive" yet...Genesis Hydra helps too.
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that against a walker list, all the removal and board wipes in Control decks are dead against planeswalkers, and their counterspells can't stop planewalker activations so you still manage to keep a board presence and grind out advantage that they just can't interact with very easily.
That is a good point Deruvid.
They kind of have to choose what they are going to deal with. Generally once a walker is down they really struggle coming back...and if they kill the walker, it’s buying time for more creatures, etc. It just kind of attacks from a weird angle. Also, If you get Curio down they really struggle (as you can start looping Oath/Sprawl or Dork/Visionary and bury them in card advantage.
Genesis Hydra is just a surefife way to get a walker on the board (it functions a lot like Bloodbraid Elf in a way.

The deck is by no means perfect. It does feel like it is one 2-3 drop from really being amazing...it is a viable deck as is (and with the correct board could win a Modern tourney)...but it is not Tier 1 status (yet )
Have you played NoNameAlreadyTaken's CoCO list? It's very good. Definitely one of the most competitive Green Devotion lists around. He has ton's of 5-0's with that deck, he must play a lot of Leagues with it.
I'm curious how many he plays, and what is actual League win percentage is.

I have. I like it quite a bit. It has a lot of elements I prefer in a Green Devotion deck:
1. Not a lot of cards above 5-CMC.
2. A good amount of card advantage
3. Mana Sinks (the Witness/Command Loop is one big mana sink, but he also has Wolf Run, Tracker, etc)
I've never been the biggest fan of BTE and for some reason have not had a lot of success with Knight of the Reliquary; but I think this list makes great use of them.
I look at his hist as an updated Command List. It's the current best Command list for the meta. I don't know how often he plays competitive leagues, etc. but 5-0s are tough to come by; so even if he plays a pretty good volume; it still has to be a great list.
I like Fulgence's list quite a bit. It feels like an interesting and powerful hybrid strategy.
I was wondering if Fulgence has experimented with either Ramunap Excavator for value chains (including with a Canopy), or Magus of the Moon over Fulminator Mage, for a more readily castable land-disruption effect.
Also, does Fulgence stream? I would like to see this deck in action.
The new Vraska looks great. I have been playing with Vraska the Unseen quite a bit and loved the interaction it supplied.
Now there's an additional CMC 4 Planesewalker besides Garruk Relentless to interact with not only creatures but all CMC 3 and lower permaments.
I hope there wont be a big standard demand that drives prices up. I will definately go back to my GB Walker list.
On Reddit everyone dismisses her because all they see is a T4 play in BGx midrange decks. We can reliably cast her T3 and sometimes T2 while spamming the board with resilient creatures.

I hadn’t thought about Nissa VOZ’s added synergy with Vraska. Super interesting. Crawls has been pretty good. The 4-CMC is a benefit when compared to 5; and Abrupt Decay is so versatile. Her + is a hoop to jump through; but in a deck tht (a) can function on a few lands (b) plays a lot of permanents, and (c) has ways to recur permanents from the yard; the downside is greatly mitigated.
Right now I’m trying Assassin’s Trophy because really the only items I am mostly concerned with removing tend to be in match ups where I need them to be removed early (Storm, Tron, Infect, etc.)...so in those cases one less mana can matter.
I was so excited hearing from you again! I know we talked a lot during the Garruk Green Day’s! I’d love to hear more about your list and games. I have thought about trying out a non-combo version (it is hard to determine how many games i win with the combo that I wouldn’t have won anyways; but certainly something I need to figure out.)
One item so think makes for interesting discussion...just how much interaction do we need:
1. In our main deck?
2. In our board?
And what kind should we use?
Hosers? Straight Removal spells? Etc.
Rendroc had concern that there wasn’t enough main-board interaction in the Walker list (as all it has is Vraska, Polukranos, 2x Acidic Slime, and one A.Trophy)....but people seem to like Fulgence’s list which has only 3x Primal Command and a Reclamation Sage...
Obviously, It depends heavily on the list; and of course we don’t need nearly as much Creature removal as most (as most current Green Devotion decks gum up the board quickly...but I think it would be interesting to delve into the community’s thoughts on interaction and it’s place in Devotion. How much is too much? What percentage of interaction should be permanent-based rather than instant/sorcery, etc.
Just fun food for thought that could help us all improve where we can.
________
The new vraska has been interesting. Having a wider-encompassing removal available at 4-cmc has made for some interesting plays I didn’t have before.
________
I’m going to work on testing out ways to determine how often i win the game without the Curio combo that I would not win withoit it. Basically if the combo is needed or if Walker Devotion is as strong without it. I’ll post my results:thoughts this evening.

I've been rocking a version with blue that's focused on t3 pact, kinda looks like a similar gameplan. I don't play on mtgo but been racking up the store credit with 4-0's in paper. Nissa + BTE is super fun and creates a ton of routes to 5 mana t3.
I've tinkered with numbers/meta creatures like chameleon and such over time but you can get the gist below. List
So...Knight of Autumn is incredible. Great board option for sure if playing white splash. Kinda does a Rec Sage/Finks-without Persist thing) but if you just wanna beat down can do that too.
Yeah, Knight of Autumn is a great card, and a solid improvement over Rec Sage for any non-elf, green-based creature deck running white. It's perfect for the CoCo list.

If you can't kill creatures, then Humans will just wreck you. You need to have answers to Mage and Freebooter. That's why I like my Garruk Green with Ballista list, or even the Constrictor list (which I haven't tested nearly as much).
Fulgence says he kept winning against Humans, which seems odd to me. Maybe it has to do with the fact that people aren't prepared to play against Green Devotion and don't name the correct cards with Mage.

I really loved this card, very strong with Company stuff. I just don't know if she is good enough with normal devotion lists.
Until now I saw some potential in Nullhide and Whisperer.
@Fulgence's List
I tested his list a little bit, I'm not an expert with that but what I saw is the lack of gas in mid and late game. Is nice when all works, but need a lot of tools for that. Also isn't that good against Humans and heavy discard decks.
@Blue Splash
I like the UG Nissa too, but she looks weak compared with Garruk or even Kiora. Serum Visions is nice too, but we have Oath of Nissa that let us choose better and add devotion. I don't know if blue can be good enough if we can use red or white for real winning conditions.
Next week I'm thinking about this list bellow, my actual meta is very low in control and graveyard decks, but a lot of aggro (Spirits, Humans, Burn, etc) and discard (Death's Shadow, Jund, etc) decks.

Went 2-2 in my local weekly tournament. Had 26 folks show tonight. I still feel like 3x Blood Moon is correct, even though I got stuck with 2 early copies R3 and R4. My meta is control- and tron-light, with a lot of other green ramp decks (Amulet Titan, Scapeshift, 5c Bring to Light) so I'm having to skew my SB away from what I'd expect at a larger event. I can definitely understand about some players not knowing how to play against Devotion. My burn opponent last night was very proficient with his spells/triggers but had to read just about every card I played.
As for the Knight of Autumn, I think if I wanted to go with the white splash, I'd look at something closer to Fulgence's decklist. Keeping a red splash for Kessig Wolf Run wouldn't be too hard but if we're trying to cast 3-drops in white, it would take some adjustment (and I'd probably have to drop my SLCs).
https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/1326717#paper this is the list i am thinking of taking to a pptq. im not 100% on the main or sideboard but i came to the conclusion with this deck that i never really want more than 5 sb cards for any match up. so i started tinkering to try to find the 5 i want... is trinisphere good in the board? what is it good against and what should i be looking at as my worst match ups? tron/storm?

I do think that this has a lot to do with it. Freebooter is a beater (as they can see what they want before they take it) but they just aren't familiar enough with Devotion to know what to stop with Meddling Mage. I don't mind not having much (although if I remember correctly, he doesn't have any) main-deck creature removal (as you can do your thing game one and then side in removal) but you are right that Humans should be a rough one. It is possible that his game one plan is just good enough to out-value them in some games too.

I actually really like this list...although 19 lands is living on the edge Chock full of value. Multiple sinks...the board seems built for this specific deck. Every card is a good card on its own (save BTE). Yeah, this looks good. It would be great against any board-based opponent. I don't hate having creature hate in the board (just hope to win game on your game plan and then move into removal games 2-3).

I tried something like this weeks ago at my LGS, saddly Genesis Wave strategy was really slow to me. Got wrecked by Humans and Death's Shadow.
Trinisphere is really good against combos, also slow down Burn and Death's Shadow.
Man, Knight of Autumn is such a good card. There hasn't been a green card spoiled this good for a while. This is a huge improvement for most G/w creature decks. You get your sideboard Lifegain and Disenchant effect all in one card, and it can even be a decent body if need be, so you don't have to worry about bringing it in and being just a 3 mana 2/1 like Rec Sage. It frees up multiple spots in the sideboard improving those decks even more. This card is so good.
Luckily I'm not sure Humans can afford to play it over Rec Sage because of the mana requirement, but they still might. Humans is already the best deck in the format so I'm never happy to hear about it potentially getting an upgrade.

These guilds spoilers really are exciting. My current list is green-red for lack of shocklands to break into other colors (or money for said shocks), but with the reprints and these new cards i will probably buy a few.
Here's a current list. The main has been somewhat set for a while, though it may be subject to change now. Side is in flux.
Knight of Autumn seems so good. Not sure it can replace finks in this list, which is consistantly useful as sticky devotion with solid lifegain, but it frees so much space in the side. 4x knight main means I can cut that ancient grudge and maybe a pulse or spyglass without losing points, and focus the board elsewhere. But also, black for assassin's trophy is worth considering. And I would have messed with the temur variants more a long time ago if I'd felt like jumping for the mana.
4+ color Tooth and Nail is probably bad, but still...

Luckily I'm not sure Humans can afford to play it over Rec Sage because of the mana requirement, but they still might. Humans is already the best deck in the format so I'm never happy to hear about it potentially getting an upgrade.
MODERN: Pure Pili-ness GU // Red Devotion RR // Green Devotion Variants GRWUG // U/G Emerge CGU // Lots and Lots of Brews BGRUWC
Here's a current list. The main has been somewhat set for a while, though it may be subject to change now. Side is in flux.
4 Utopia Sprawl
4 Birds of Paradise
4 Garruk Wildspeaker
3 Overgrowth
3 Mind Stone
4 Jadelight Ranger
3 Kitchen Finks
3 Tooth and Nail
1 Xenagos, God of Revels
1 Emrakul, The Promised End
1 World Breaker
3 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
4 Stomping Ground
4 Windswept Heath
8 Forest
1 Treetop Village
1 Kessig Wolf Run
3 Trinisphere
3 Pulse of Murasa
2 Bonfire of the Dammed
1 Ancient Grudge
3 Sorcerous Spyglass
Knight of Autumn seems so good. Not sure it can replace finks in this list, which is consistantly useful as sticky devotion with solid lifegain, but it frees so much space in the side. 4x knight main means I can cut that ancient grudge and maybe a pulse or spyglass without losing points, and focus the board elsewhere. But also, black for assassin's trophy is worth considering. And I would have messed with the temur variants more a long time ago if I'd felt like jumping for the mana.
4+ color Tooth and Nail is probably bad, but still...
