Does the trigger from City every come into play as opposed to the triggerless ability of Confluence? IS the trigger every too bad of a consequence to play it?
As to the sideboard guide listed by Izzetmage; the meta has shifted a lot as has the sideboard since that was written (Pod/Delver are not around, the sideboard is more creature heavy/less artifact heavy). Maybe we should be discussing the sideboarding plan a little bit more now?
Twin decks can tap your causing 1 extra damage every once in a while. i Personally am going to run Cirty of Brass just based on price. Maybe get confluence once its out of standard
You'd be perfectly happy with Twin tapping down your City of Brass. Generally there are either tapping a Karoo or a Titan. I run a City because I already owned one. I think 6 copies of Tendo or Gemstone is fine too.
Im currently running a Tendo Ice Bridge, 4x Gemstone Mines and 1x City of Brass, I asked bc I was wondering if Mana Confluence is really worth it (I love my City of Brass)
guess i won't be getting my free fnm wins with this deck anymore. I mean seriously i use to walk into stores weekly and figuratively take free 20$ bags of cards through store credit cause no one under stood this deck, and they kept losing.

the land untap could be pretty powerful on titan or even a token suited up with the sword. Infact putting it on to the random tokens we make is what is appearing to me about the idea, kind of makes sword a very versitile card for the deck.
pro green and black is solid again all of these :symw:/:symr: decks that seem to be popping up all over the place.

I have thought about it but it never seems better than anything else it would replace. I am running 1 temple of mystery, which is might replace, but the access to U or G and the ability to put it on the bottom really is hard to pass up.

I run the Scryland also, and had similar thoughts. On the other hand, Depths into Serum Visions seems pretty good, and maybe we could set up a shuffle effect depending on what Depths shows. In the end I think scry 1 is just better than rearrange top IF the top 3 is crap and that's the situation we should be focusing on. Depths is only better when the 3rd card is the one you need, as Temple can get you to the 2nd card anyway.
I've been using Halimar depths and it works great, there are quite a few shuffle effects to use in the deck, I replaced bog with it simply because my meta doesn't have a lot of gy antics
IF my local meta is control heavy, should I be running 2(or 3?) caverns?
I think it depends on if you are running the Ancient Stirrings version or not. If you are, 2 is prolly fine. IF you are not, and you really fear the counterspell, 3 might not hurt too much, as long as you are cutting other utility lands and no karoos for them
Don't laugh, but I think I want to test a Reaper of the Wilds in sideboard to gain some time and just survive until a Titan touches the board. As sideboard creatures go, I'm not sold on big things like Hornet Queen. At this cost, nothing is better than a Titan (except Ruric in some rare cases), and the problem is often to be able to ramp to it against discard. That's why smaller creatures like Baloth may be interesting by providing just enough time for the big guy to show up.
Now, for Reaper, it just has the extra point of toughness to survive Rhino and Tasigur (and Tarmo if it's not too big) and kill them with deathtouch. Can't be destroyed by Bolt or Decay, and you can give it hexproof against Path, Pulse or whatever removal if you have some mana left (but it dies to Liliana though). And the scry bonus is not completely ridiculous. Obviously, it can't win the game itself, but as I said, that would not be the point. So... that may be another stupid idea, but I'll try it anyway ^^
Just to be clear, the idea with a saturation of fatties in the board, is not to combo into one of them. It's so in attritiony games against BGx, they can shred your hand, but you'll almost always end up with a bunch of mana anyway. Having a bunch of fatties makes your top deck live, so you can draw into guys that are very hard for BGx to deal with.

Not just the Tendo King, the power of the Galactic Leyline surpasses that of the Tempa Emperor, No!, It's magnificent power is even greater than that!
Both games involved Titan into double-face punchy-goodness. Was able to bait some counters with Summoner's Pacts and force them to tap out and land a Titan.
Sideboard: IN - Sigarda, Hornet Queen, 2 Defense Grids
OUT - Garden, Radiant Fountain, Slaughter Pact, Sleight of Hand
Game 2 was UWR Midrange/Control (AGAIN!) - won 2-0
Game 1 my opponent missed a land drop, was able to chain pacts into Titans and win through 2 paths. Game 2 I was able to Cavern of Souls into Sigarda, which was basically unwinnable for him. He tapped out to chump block with a Restoration Angel (to flicker a finks) and I landed a Hive Mind into Summoner's Pact to end the game quicker (he had a board of 2 finks and I was scared he could "race"/outlife gain me vs a Sigarda and Slayer's Stronghold).
Sideboard: IN - Sigarda, Hornet Queen, 2 Defense Grids
OUT - Garden, Radiant Fountain, Slaughter Pact, Sleight of Hand
Game 3 was Abzan (god i hate this match up) - won 2-1
Game 1, I kept a weak hand (not knowing what he was playing) and he was able to Thoughtseize > IoK > Thoughtseize, even through that, I was 1 Pact away from a Hive Mind win (I had a Summoner's Pact but needed a second or a Pact of Negation/Slaughter Pact because he could pay for the first).
Game 2 and 3 were basically won on the back of Leyline of Sanctity into Fatty, game 2 was thrag into Sigarda game 3 was titan into sigarda.
Sideboard: IN - Sigarda, Thragtusk, Hornet Queen, 3 Leyline, 1 GQ
OUT - Cavern, 2 Hive Mind, Pact of Negation, Slaughter Pact, 2 Sleight
Game 4 was Mono-Green Stompy won 2-0 (we split and then played for fun)
Games were very straight forward, it was a race since we had very little interaction (1 slaughter Pact vs none). Game 1 he went Experiment one into Dryad Militant into Predator Ooze, I went Amulet into Amulet into Summerbloom into Double Titan (i think I missed played somewhere because I did not get to swing with both)
Game 2 was he played some creatures, I played a Hive Mind and Summoner's Pact with only 3 mana on his side.
Sideboard: IN - Sigarda, Hornet Queen, Slaughter Pact
OUT - Pact of Negation, Cavern, Sleight
That was a lot more control than I thought I would ever see (must have been 6+ people playing some sort of UWR deck). I was debating the 2nd cavern of souls, though it never came up, really wish I had had it for this event.
I feel like such a dog in the Abzan match up, without those Leylines I feel like it would not have even been close. I feel like I want to devote my sideboard just to that match up (which is dumb). I am already bringing in 7 cards (3 Leylines, 3 creatures and a Ghost Quarter) and I feel like it isnt enough.
A card that I was pondering on my way home, that would help in the Abzan match up but also in any match up with non-exile interaction (so counters, discard, non-path removal) is Noxious Revival .
I know it sounds crazy but its an instant speed free way, to get a discarded/countered/destroyed combo piece out of the yard and into our hand (play it during your untap for 2 life and draw it). The fact that it retrieves any of our combo pieces; artifact, creature, sorcery or land means we become really hard to distrupt. It is rarely a dead draw, even if you are not being disrupted, being able to get a summerbloom or dig spell back is never bad. Also, no one is bringing graveyard hate in against us g2/3 so it can really surprise people.
It is something I want to try, though I have no idea what to cut. I wish our sideboard was 25 cards.

Nice idea. Can you tell me how defense grid worked for you?
It ate a spell snare.....
I only got 2 games with it, the one time i drew it, they countered with spell snare. So, not great yet, but i think it has potential
I'm still learning the deck, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was stupid, but it seemed to have merit. I chose the dragon to dodge most removal (I'm not sure what out of the Blood Moon decks kills it).

I spend most of my MTG time online over at tappedout.net or on XMage[/card].
Ideally I'd want a red green mana hybrid creature so that it can still be searched. Otherwise, the best red mana creature versus twin and blood moon in my opinion is urabrask the hidden
Hi! I'm new to the deck and pretty new to Modern (very old player in other formats though). Has anyone tried Teetering Peaks? It seems like tutoring up a second +2/+0 to give a 10/6 double strike might be worthwhile.
Sorry if this is a dumb or settled question. I've goldfished and played a few games, winning more than I lost, but I don't know it well yet.
