let see how the new death shadow aggro build develop but yeah that matchup is as fast as the infect but did lost a lot of steam due to the banning of gitaxian and increase of explosives SB. I will switch back to GW if they become a lot in my LGS meta.

Hi, been running GW tron recently with tech of 2 condemns and 2 blessed alliance. Post board against burn, i run thragtusk and timely reinforcements and a couple of nature's claim. If you have enough targetting effects then leyline is a great choice. Personally I've never been a fan of Thragtusk because it doesn't usually come down till t4 and they are usually holding up Atarka's Command / Skullcrack. Having Leyline out can slow them down until you assemble tron and get a fatty down.
Round 1: Jund, 2:0
Game 1: Turn 3 tron into Karn followed by Wurmcoil. He managed to get rid of them both but an Ulamog sealed the game.
Game 2: Took a bit longer to assemble tron due to discard, but i got there, played Karn, exiled Kalitas and flashed in an Warping wail Scion to block the Ravine attacking my Karn.
Round 2: Eldrazi & Taxes, 1:2
Game 1: He didn't tax me much so i got a turn 3 Tron with Karn up.
Game 2: Took longer to assemble tron, was on 5 life and with Karn on board, but he topdecked a Reality smasher and hasted me for 5.
Game 3: Long grindy match, i used Worldbreaker to exile pithing needle on o-stone, Worldbreaker got pathed, i used stone. From that point on it was a game of topdecking which he won by 1 turn.
Round 3: Nicol Bolas Tron, 2:0
Game 1: Game of fetching ghost quarters while trying to assemble tron. I managed to be on the luckier side and got karn online faster.
Game 2: Most funny and interesting game of the tournament, he ghost quartered and surgicaled my power plant pretty early on. I wanted to concede there on the spot, but something in my head told me to keep going. I managed to ghost quarter his mine so we were both off tron - but i didnt have any more Power plants in the deck. He was cycling eggs like mad but didnt find the 3rd tron land. When we were both on 7+ lands the game of Karns started. I think we both played 3 - 4 Karns each turn, exiling the opponents Karn lol. Was pretty funny. I was 1 land away from hardcasting Ulamog. but i didnt have to because my wurmcoil won before that. Was really intense game.
Round 4: R/B Burn, 2:1
This guy already threw one of my cards on the ground on a previous FNM because he was so salty about losing. I really wanted to get him salty again and win the game.
Game 1: i would win, but half-scooped at the end because i thought i lost. Then i remembered that i had a path of exile in hand, wanted to play it (meaning i would win next turn) but he said that i already looked at the top card (which you do sometimes when you concede). Even though i know i didn't. He wanted to call a judge and was very salty about it, so i just thought to myself: **** it if you want this win so badly you can have it. I guess it was fair anyway since it was a mistake on my part by not double checking my hand.
Game 2: Natural turn 3 tron followed by stirred wurmcoil. It felt so good.
Game 3: Karma strikes and he mullied to 5. Used Blessed alliance to bump myself up to 11 life on turn 3 and played a wurmcoil turn 4. His hand was empty and i knew i won.
Round 5: Mardu control/midrange?, 2:0
My friend so this game was really chill.
Game 1: pretty straight forward. Just tron things.
Game 2: he didnt draw any SB and i got turn 3 karn again while topdecking some urza lands like a boss.
I was in top 8. Other top 8 decks were: Death's Shadow Aggro, Eldrazi Taxes, Eldrazi Tron, Grixis Delver, Junk, RG Ponza, Storm
So storm, eldrazi taxes and ponza.. I wished not to face any of them. But then..
Top8 Round 1: Ponza, 0:2
Game 1: Turn 2 blood moon into turn 4 Giant. clock was fast, i was dead.
Game 2: Turn 2 Blood moon. Green in pool, nature's claim it. turn 3 another blood moon. Ok, lets grind. Got to 7 lands, played wurmcoil, but he destroyed it with Ancient grudge and destroyed tokens with the miracle bordwipe thingy while also dealing 6 to my face. At this point his Chandra was already on 7 and his Baloth got in for the kill.
Overall im pretty satisfied especially over winning that funny tron game and defeating that burn guy. Got some credit on Magiccardmarket, sleeves and some other goodies for the prize. Most importantly it was really fun.
I want it in SB against any heavy control/counterspell decks. Since we dont have Eye of ugin anymore to keep the threats going, at least we can lean on emrakul in the long games where everything gets countered.. But i wouldnt play it mainboard. Thats my personal oppinion

My friend and i went 5-0 in mtgo competitive last week running gw tron
Round 1: Esper Beck//callcall 2-1
Game 1 cast Karn on turn 3 and started exiling lands. Never saw any real spells so no clue what he was on
Game 2 was close. He cast Beck//call multiple times off Brain and sram's expertise. Ugin couldn't clean up the servos so we died.
Game 3 we cast pithing needle naming Brain and rule of law. He conceded.
Over the round he cast multiple esper charms and never chose to make us discard. MU might be harder against someone who knows our deck.
Round 2 BG rock 2-1
Game one was a fight for Tron against multiple tectonic edges. We didn't win.
Game 2 he brought in fulminator but didn't find enough to keep us off ugin
Game 3 we cast Karn on 3 and he couldn't catch up
Round 3 Burn 2-0
Thus began the luck train. Game 1 he played swiftspear and every turn after cast lightning bolt and attacked... But never saw a second land. T4 ulamog took the land and the swiftspear promoting a concession.
Game 2 he played 3 eidolons, but we had answers for all in the form of nature's claim, path, and ostone he proceeded to flood out.
Round 4 Storm 2-1
Game 1 we got turn 3 tron and then he stormed us to death.
Game 2 he had a counter for every one of our threats... So he didn't have one when we cast rule of law. Ggwp
Game 3 was the most incredible game I've ever played. We mulled to 4 and kept 0 lands. Our scry wasn't a land but our topdeck was. We proceeded to play lands when we're drew them, eventually holding up warping wail to prevent the combo kill. It never came. Our opponent continued to dig through his deck while we found tron and started attacking his hand with karn while keeping warping shields up the entire time. Turns out we didn't need them. Ugin landed alongside the karn and he had no cards in hand. We think he'd been holding a bunch of answers to rule of law and not much else. Don't over sideboard and never concede game 3!
Round 5 GB tron 2-0
Anticlimactic compared to the previous round. Game 1 we got tron first so we cast karn first.
Game 2 he mulled to 2 and we kept our opening 7
Overall, we got incredibly lucky. Warping wail was incredible against both of the blue decks and was nice vs. BG as well. Thragtusk keeps under performing for me, which is sort of annoying. Beyond that, all I can really authoritatively say is get lucky and always play to your outs. We top deck surprisingly well.
Seeing Walking Ballista performance not only this weekend, but some weeks before, i think i'll swap my 2 MD copies of Spellskite for it .

The lists are still pretty new if you look at the 5-0 lists and things the mixture of Fatal Push, Collective Brutality varies between 2-4 of each usually with a total of 6. I've gone with 2 of each and 2 Walking Ballista. Compared to path a lot of times the Fatal Push just feels a lot better in the early turns. Being able to hit a Bird/Noble or a t1 Glistner Elf without ramping the opponent helps a lot. Brutality also shores up the burn matchup. Being able to turn redundant lands or extra threats into killing an Eidolon, taking a boros charm, and gaining two life. Walking Ballista is similarly a way to ping early threats, but has the benefit of being gotten with Ancient Stirrings and castable off just Tron lands. Once you have Tron online it can do a lot to seal a game where Karn can have trouble. 3 counters means infect needs three pump spells. Abzan company has a hard time comboing off when you can ping viscera seer. Elves drop. etc etc. This version does have more problems against the Breaking//Entering and other GY builds though.
As for the SB it's sort of the downside of taking out white since you lose out on cards like Rest in Peace and Blessed Alliance.
Is GB Tron more popular than GW Tron? Is there a best Tron color, either GW, GB, or GR Tron that is best positioned for the current meta? Is there a version that is better against certain decks compared to the other 2 versions? What is GB better against compared to GW and vice versa? What is the best color combination to play against an unknown meta?
Some sage man once posted here in this group the following phrase: " Had it not been for Burn to exist, our Tron deck would probably have taken ban hammer in WOTC's modern at some point ".
And I fully agree with that, burn is a necessary evil for us, unfortunately.
Our meta seems to have a huge increase in tron players, including 2 colorles eldrazitron.
I think there was 2 Gift Tron, 1 GR Tron (moi), 1 GW Tron and 2 Colorless Eldrazi Tron.
Match one: GW Tron
This is not the best matchup for me since i have atleast 3 dead cards in my deck, and Ugin kinda sucks as well, compared to his set of Path to Exiles.
Lost first game because he started out first and got perfect tron, even if i had perfect tron as well.
Game two, i won since he had poor threatassignment (word?). He removed a Wurmcoil Instead of a Tron piece, i then slammed Karn and removed his Karn and managed to stabilize with a Ghost Quarter in his drawstep. He also played only one basic which helped me.
I sideboarded out Pyros, Koz return and Ugin.
in with: 1 Pithing, 2 Warping Wail and a spellskite to protect my permanents.
Won game 3 by him keeping a risky hand, managed to counter a stirrings/scrying with Warping Wail and had Ghost Quarter ready.
1-0!
Bant Eldrazi
I haven't had any problems with Bant Eldrazi before and this time it was the same. Removed Noble, managed to build Tron pretty fast and removed threats/lands.
Sideboarded out Ugin and a Pyro, i think i added 2 Warping Wail for the ramp/blocker and countering a stirrings or so? Like i said, i haven't had much problems against Bant Eldrazi.
Won game 2 pretty fast because she got kinda manascrewed, got fast tron and removed somestuff, the usual.

UW Timewarp
Grindy game, he later gave up because we had 15 minutes left for game two. Managed to Emrakul Him, strip mine him with my Ghost Quarter and i TRIED to give myself another term, as a shenanigan but he only had non-targeted take another extra turn spells. He tried to kill me with Colonade and Snappy but i managed to kill them.
Game 2
I ran over him with my Ulamog, he couldn't keep up. Azusa actually helped here.

UW Spirits
So this dude went 3-0 with a standard deck, and he just added Mana Leak and Vapor Snags.
First game He had me at 1 life, i managed to stabilize and he ran out of counters. Managed to Remove his Exile target spell spirit to play my pyro which it exiled, he then had to sacc his 2/1 turn everything indestructible spirit and i answered with a O-Stone to kill all of his things.
Managed to get out Ulamog and swung two/three times to kill him. He only needed a vapor snag to kill me but failed to find it.
Game 2.
He had a early start with a Figure of Destiny turn 1, into the 2/1 spirit (indestructible).
I kept playing tronpieces, had Ugin on hand and expected a turn 4 ugin, i just hoped that he leveled up his Figure on turn 4, if he did i had the game!
And what happned? He had control over the game with counters in hand but i managed to stick ugin after he leveled up his Figure. Luckily he had No spellpierces available!
He then promptly scooped since he couldn't remove Ugin.
Cool thing is, his standard duals actually helped him throughout the Tournament. He faced island hate but he didn't play any islands haha.

Abzan company has a hard time comboing off when you can ping viscera seer. Elves drop. etc etc. This version does have more problems against the Breaking//Entering and other GY builds though.
As for the SB it's sort of the downside of taking out white since you lose out on cards like Rest in Peace and Blessed Alliance.

Our meta seems to have a huge increase in tron players, including 2 colorles eldrazitron.
I think there was 2 Gift Tron, 1 GR Tron (moi), 1 GW Tron and 2 Colorless Eldrazi Tron.
Match one: GW Tron
This is not the best matchup for me since i have atleast 3 dead cards in my deck, and Ugin kinda sucks as well, compared to his set of Path to Exiles.
Lost first game because he started out first and got perfect tron, even if i had perfect tron as well.
Game two, i won since he had poor threatassignment (word?). He removed a Wurmcoil Instead of a Tron piece, i then slammed Karn and removed his Karn and managed to stabilize with a Ghost Quarter in his drawstep. He also played only one basic which helped me.
I sideboarded out Pyros, Koz return and Ugin.
in with: 1 Pithing, 2 Warping Wail and a spellskite to protect my permanents.
Won game 3 by him keeping a risky hand, managed to counter a stirrings/scrying with Warping Wail and had Ghost Quarter ready.
1-0!
Bant Eldrazi
I haven't had any problems with Bant Eldrazi before and this time it was the same. Removed Noble, managed to build Tron pretty fast and removed threats/lands.
Sideboarded out Ugin and a Pyro, i think i added 2 Warping Wail for the ramp/blocker and countering a stirrings or so? Like i said, i haven't had much problems against Bant Eldrazi.
Won game 2 pretty fast because she got kinda manascrewed, got fast tron and removed somestuff, the usual.

UW Timewarp
Grindy game, he later gave up because we had 15 minutes left for game two. Managed to Emrakul Him, strip mine him with my Ghost Quarter and i TRIED to give myself another term, as a shenanigan but he only had non-targeted take another extra turn spells. He tried to kill me with Colonade and Snappy but i managed to kill them.
Game 2
I ran over him with my Ulamog, he couldn't keep up. Azusa actually helped here.

UW Spirits
So this dude went 3-0 with a standard deck, and he just added Mana Leak and Vapor Snags.
First game He had me at 1 life, i managed to stabilize and he ran out of counters. Managed to Remove his Exile target spell spirit to play my pyro which it exiled, he then had to sacc his 2/1 turn everything indestructible spirit and i answered with a O-Stone to kill all of his things.
Managed to get out Ulamog and swung two/three times to kill him. He only needed a vapor snag to kill me but failed to find it.
Game 2.
He had a early start with a Figure of Destiny turn 1, into the 2/1 spirit (indestructible).
I kept playing tronpieces, had Ugin on hand and expected a turn 4 ugin, i just hoped that he leveled up his Figure on turn 4, if he did i had the game!
And what happned? He had control over the game with counters in hand but i managed to stick ugin after he leveled up his Figure. Luckily he had No spellpierces available!
He then promptly scooped since he couldn't remove Ugin.
Cool thing is, his standard duals actually helped him throughout the Tournament. He faced island hate but he didn't play any islands haha.
