4 Mana is already a lot and you want a Mana sink, which is only good for grindy match ups like jund. Everywhere else shalai is slow, picking up one copy is never bad since it's gavony on a creature.
The Ross deck seems like just playtesting the marwyn as a 5th worse archdruid. Boreal druid was already fine because it's another Mana dork that has no drawbacks to it. All in all, I believe the vizier + devoted druid combo carried his games more than the single copy of marwyn.

Thd fact us, shakai is s creature, snd this means se is tutorable in many natchups where hexproof is usrful. It's a better aegis ofg the gods, i wouldn't be durprised in seeing her in the toolbox version

shalai, Voice of plenty seems Made for Elves as a toolbox hate card that salso provides value for green-producing creatures.
Chord for 7 to protect an elf from spot removal? You could chord for 3 and pay G to regenerate that elf.
Infinite mana chord and activate to make all creatures infinite? Already have Ezuri.
Chord for 7 to protect Ezuri who can't regenerate himself? You could chord for another Ezuri for 1 less.
Chord for 7 and grow everyone out of Anger of the Gods damage? That's 13 mana and you could do it with Ezuri.

Round 1 vs. Infect. In the first game, he plays no creatures and I turn 4 him with Ezuri overrun. In the next game, he goes turn 2 Blighted Agent. I tank. I have Path to Exile, but no 1 drops. I have Devoted Druid and a bunch of 3 drops with Collected Company. I tap out for Devoted Druid to open up my hand and I die to the Blighted Agent. Might of Old Krosa, Groundswell, and Mutagenic Growth. On to the next game. I keep a 2 land hand. He does 2 Dismember on a pair of Llanowar Elves and it slows me way down. I just play Heritage Druids, with Ezuri, CoCo, Archdruid, and Elvish Champion in hand. He gets there with a pump over 2 turns. 1-2.
Round 2 vs. RG Eldrazi. One of 3 guys who I carpooled with. I have a strong hand, but it takes a bit to get there. I swing for 24 damage with Ezuri overrun, as he has only 10 toughness of blockers and is at 14 life. In the next one, we both misplayed terribly. My Elvish Champion gave his Bloodbraid Elves forestwalk and the pump, so he could have had me. Instead, he misplayed and played a Forest on turn 5, which opened me up to a few attacks with double Lord out. Then I get another Lord. I couldn't play around Lightning Bolt, so I didn't. I played around Forked Bolt since I didn't want to lose to that. He had 1 card in hand, which was his draw for the turn. I block with enough to kill the Smasher and take only 1, down to 8 life. I swing back for lethal over 2 turns. Dumb mistakes by both of us. 2-0.
Round 3 vs. Jund. In the first game, he's on the play and tempos me out pretty badly. Each time I try to add a mana dude to the board, he kills it and I get stuck on 3 land. I can't Company and he ends up getting there. Not sure if there was any misplays, but this game was just one of those awkward games for me. I did play around Liliana of the Veil on my turn 3, playing Elvish Visionary instead of Elvish Archdruid and he missed his 2nd Black source, so that may have been a mistake. In the next game, I get an insane amount of tempo and get some Collected Companies to get there with a big overrun. In the final game, it is close, but I go to Chord for Elvish Archdruid EoT into double Elvish Archdruid from hand They can't die to Anger of the Gods now. I get there over 2 turns. He said he needed a Green source for Abrupt Decay into Anger of the Gods. 2-1.
Round 4 vs. Ad Nauseam. He can't find what he needs and I turn 4 him. In the next game, I make some hilarious mistakes, including jamming a turn 2 Ethersworn Canonist and then not drawing a 3rd land to play a bunch of cards from my hand. With Heritage Druids, that made it hard for me. He did Path to Exile, but then a CoCo found Phyrexian Revoker for Pentad Prism. He did Lightning Storm to that Revoker and I get there after an Angel's Grace. 2-0.
I've had a lot of 3-1s recently. I should be happy because it's better than a lot of other records, but I've wanted to get that 4-0 one of these times. I'm going to keep trying.

I go for another Collected Company since I have Qasali Pridemage and Phyrexian Revoker as outs. I get 1 Llanowar Elves. I kill in 3 turns. He kills me on his turn 4. 1-2.

Didn't know you were on here too. I try to do a tournament report for Modern each time I play (Monday, Tuesdays sometimes, Wed., Fri., Sat., and Sun.). The sad part for me is that I knew I'd play against Infect in that last round (not the other two 2-1s) and I knew he would have early kills. I just assumed he'd have 2 turn 3 kills with Blighted Agent, so I was somewhat wrong. He had a turn 2 kill, but I kept blocking Glistener Elf in game 1. Then he killed me early in the other 2 when I didn't find a win-con.

Saturday Monthly at Owl Central Games in Reading, PA
I haven't done modern in awhile, nor elves. When I was, I preferred a Lead/Sylvan Messenger GW list from at least a year or two ago. I know Elves is split between GB and GW and I choose GW based on advice from people that have played more recently that the quick combo nature of GW through the devoted druid/vizier combo might be better against the field in this linear modern. I didn't know what list or sideboard to play, so I looked and chose Ross's Team Trios list with a substitution of Shalai, Voice of Plenty instead of the Nurturer. I never saw Shalai, nor did I chord for her, so I can't say this is better or worse.
It was a 6 round tournament.
Round 1 - Amulet Titan
Game 1 - I kept a hand 3 lands and 3 dorks and a dywnen's elite. I play this out on turn 2 and on turn 3 I draw a chord which I use at the end of turn for an Ezuri and overrun for victory.
Game 2 - I kept a 1 land hand with a lot of gas. He dismembered my first dork, and turn 3 I found a second land to cast devoted druid of which the next turn, I had vizier and ezuri down for the win.
I sideboarded Path to Exile and a Reclamation Sage for shaving Ezuri, Dwyenen's Elite, Boreal Druid, and Nettle Sentinel
2-0 and 1-0 overall.
Round 2 - Merfolk
Game 1 - I got there with a bunch of normal attacks and Ezuri for exact damage later.
Game 2 - Merfolk Trickster is the real deal. They have a lot more tempo now that is capable of shutting down and slowing us down where they have a reasonable match...at least where they are on the play. It still isn't a great match for them, but they have a lot more tempo game now then before. Merfolk Trickster on upkeep from an archdruid is interesting.
Game 3 - I found 3 CoCo and just kept getting ahead of all his tempo plays and he couldn't find the time to attack or do much even though he bounced 2 Archdruids with an Echoing Truth, and dismembered an Ezuri and cast various bounce abilities.
2-1 and 2-0 overall
Round 3 - GR Tron
Game 1 - GR Tron is back boys and it sucks. They were playing with 3 mainboard pyroclasms. This was a game where pyroclasm happened and I couldn't get back in.
Game 2 - I didn't have much going and a turn 4 wyrmcoil into a turn 5 Ulamog finished me. I couldn't find any decent pieces.
0-2 and 2-1 overall.
Round 4 - Hollow One
Game 1 - I kept a decent hand and then a Burning Inquiry happen and 2 of 3 land and Ezuri went binned. I had 1 land which was a Horizon Canopy, a bunch of mana dorks, a devoted druid, a chord, and an Ezuri. So as long as I could get a dork and devoted druid to stick, I win. My first 3 of 4 dorks got lightning bolted or killed in some way before I to the combo.
Game 2 - Next game he got some good game on with a turn 1 or 2 hollow one. However I got to have a good board state with an archdruid and some other creatures. He had a flameblade adept, bloodghast, a hollowone, and a flamewake phoenix. I cocoed off of archdruid mana and blocked the flameblade adept with 2 dorks (but no discard so it was just a 1/2 menance and the bloodghast with 1/3 devoted druid. I cast my Ezuri and went off next turn. It worked well
Round 5 - Bogles
Round 1 - He had a boggle and sleeved it up with gryff boons and umbras. I had a coco find Vizier for my Devoted Druid and Ezuri on the board. \
Round 2 - He had a spirit dancer and a bogle. I kept a hand with gas an a rec sage. I rec saged an ethereal armor and he never recovered before I beat him down I think with Archdruid Beats.
Round 6 - ID probably against Mardu Pyromancer
I top 8! WOHOO! I am so happy.
Quarterfinals - Abzan
Game 1 - It wasn't that much a grindy game. I landed an Ezuri and quickly finished him off with some overrun over the course of 2 rounds. Tarmogoyf had nothing on this.
Game 2 - It was incrediably grindy. I found many cocos, elves, and horizon canopies. The MVP this match was Nissa, Voice of Zendikar. The plant tokens blocked, became 1/2s, but more importantly is that after CoCoing or have a couple elves on board the +1/+1 held a lot of power which helped me kill a Liliana of the Veil and swarm to victory after a 2 dwynen's elites.
Semi-finals - SPLIT
We split the prize pool. All in all a great showing for GW Elves.
Sideboard mostly worked.
Reclamation Sage was sided in so much that it might have been a good include instead of Shalai Voice of Plenty, but I didn't find any matches needing her or the Nurturer.
Nissa is a house vs. Control/Midrange that I might keep her in the side for those matchups where comboing off isn't likely.
Rest in Peace was sided in against Abzan and Hollow one, but didn't see any save for one time against Abzan where I had a choice of Rest in Peace or CoCo. I chose to discard Rest in Peace and the CoCo helped me win, so good on that.
Stony silence didn't come in outside of Tron where I didn't see it.
Paths came in against Amulet Titan, but I don't think they should.
Congratulations on your good result! That meta seems ripe for an Elf picking.
I think you do side in 2 Path to Exile vs. Amulet. There's only 2, so there's not much chance of seeing them, but it at least keeps them "honest" with Prime Time. Also, Walking Ballista can decimate our board, while staying alive, so you may want to get rid of him before casting more Elves sometimes. I played those 4 rounds and sided in Path every time, except the Standard deck. So, it was Affinity, 4 Color Saheeli, and Infect.

Greetings.
Sometime has past and I was wondering if anyone actual feels Damping Sphere is worth the slots?
I Kinda came to the conclusions that Damping Sphere as a card will hurt tron enough to hopefully see it less often. For now, it's still a match that I won't dedicate sideboard slots for.
Also, Been seeing Melira, Sylvok Outcast played in a few elf sideboards again. Is she worth it again? Kinda feel spellskite and some spot removal against infect is fine. I personally don't like dedicating sideboard slots for one specific match.
Dampening sphere seems like a great inclusion for SB slots, still have yet to consider it in the deck. G2 SB 3 copies mean the game plan changes to a more mid range grind, which will include some copies of Nissa, voice of zendikar. I also believe going forward with this game plan means adding in garruk, relentless as well.
Somebody helpme... I use gw elves combo but i want use the combination green white black.... Somebody wants abzan list.... Please.... Thanks for the answer... Or its better use only two colors
There is an abzan list in a few pages before, just look for it.
Pros and cons wise, pro is just more win cons and alternative ways to attack the opponents life as well as utility.
The con would be all the fetches and shocks leave you vulnerable to blood moon, more killable to burn decks, and the deck is less fluid because you are focusing on 3 different things. G/W is standard at this point since it has the most winrate.
Thanks... For your answers... I see the win conditions in abzan deck... I thing sylvan awakening its another way to win.... Or use shalai voice of plenty in thr side....... Have a many options...
Take out Genesis wave, the card is too expensive. You are already tight on Mana for company and chord. 17 land configuration with a craterhoof without ways to brainstorm it to the top of the deck means your hands over the course of a tournament is very bad.
The vizier combo does need some sort of payoff card, but I don't believe in having a triple green PLUS the Mana after that.
Gemstone mine is also very bad, no idea why it should be in the deck vs. a copy of nykthos or cavern of souls. Both cards are capitalizing off devotion or for a metagame call against blue, but blue is the worst color atm in modern. So nykthos or horizon canopy seems to be the better card.

i would only add that burn is an ok matchup and thus i don't fear it as much as maybe i should, so that sometimes (especially when i have a clear path to take) i take a lot of damage from lands (otherwise i fetch for basics).
Besides that, i would like to run more lead the stampede to increase consistency but this would work against the combo, so i see it as a meta choice
LTS is a good meta card atm due to IoQ, TS, Kolaghan's command running evwrywhere.at least it's better than brain maggot? I think just playing TS over brain maggot or IoQ is better just because G2 is the grind game and you can play it t1-t2 vs. playing a card that is 2-4 mana for a mediocre impact on the game.
Eidolon of rhetoric or aethesworn canonist should be a one of against the combo decks, since they exist within the early tournament rounds vs. the later ones.
I want to ask if you are playing shaper's sanctuary in the SB. Do you board it on against burn? Do they actually board in removal for it because we turned on their revelry? Or knowing it's just 2 enchantments, they won't bother to side it at all and just the blazes + bloods?
Ok ok why do you thing combination gw elves + trhone of pharaon god..... With the trhone dont need use shaman of the pack.... I want ise combo vizier + throne + shalai all ij the main deck
How are you getting throne from your deck? You can't Coco or chord it vs. shaman, which is why most decklists chooses shaman over throne if possible. Throne is also only a lot better in a control format, which we aren't in at all. The resurgence of jeskai control doesn't work with throne either, since electrolyze and their burn spells kill off all dorks.
A few days played this list...
3 ezuri
1 craterhoof
4 llanowar elves
4 elvish mystic
4 heritage druid
4 joraga warcaller
4 elvish archdruid
4 dwinen elite
1 selfless spirit
1 shalai vooce of plenty
4 chord of calling
4 collected company
4 lead the stampede
Win third place.... I thing this combination has a lot of potential... Or not

The Ross deck seems like just playtesting the marwyn as a 5th worse archdruid. Boreal druid was already fine because it's another Mana dork that has no drawbacks to it. All in all, I believe the vizier + devoted druid combo carried his games more than the single copy of marwyn.

Round 4 vs.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)Round 1 vs. Affinity. My toughest opponent, by far. Played in a Pro Tour and has played Affinity for quite a while. It's his deck. Got him by comboing out the turn after he sacrificed creatures to Ravager to put on Inkmoth Nexus to put me at 5 poison. Got the Vizier and then Ezuri for game. In the next game, I got Fracturing Gust, then Chord of Calling for Kataki. I also drew into Rec Sage and Phyrexian Revoker this game too. 2-0.
Round 2 vs. BR Aggro. This was the Standard list, close to the ones that got 6 places in the top 8 of the last GP Birmingham. He didn't stand a chance. I get a million dudes out in both games. I don't find a payoff, but get double Elvish Archdruid to swing for lethal. In the next game, some small dudes get it done. He literally only played Scrapheap Scrounger, Goblin Whirler, and Heart of Kiran. 2-0.
Round 3 vs. 4 Color Saheeli. Game 1, Nissa's Oath, Lotus Cobra, Felidar Guardian, Kiki Jiki, Mirror Breaker. I combo but have nothing to do with the infinite mana but a Company that gets double Devoted Druid and sacrificing a Horizon Canopy that gets a land. I lose with 3 land in hand, my 3 draw steps. In the next game, BoP into Saheeli Rai into Felidar Guardian. I did a turn 3 Collected Company after turn 2 Devoted Druid into Archdruid and a Llanowar Elves. Quick losses. 0-2.
Round 4 vs. Infect. I could have played against Abzan, Mono Blue Tron, or Infect. I knew I was playing against Infect and I was right. Good guess. In the first game, he doesn't draw more than the Glistener Elf. I kept putting Nettle Sentinels and other creatures in the way of his pumps and he didn't have Blighted Agent. In the next game, he mulls to 5. He does Glistener Elf, swings me to 5 poison. Then I do Devoted Druid. He attacks and I don't block; 5 more poison on his turn 3. Sweet! In the next game, I do turn 2 Devoted Druid again into Collected Company for an Elvish Visionary and a Dwynen's Eliter. He plays just a Noble Hierarch to go with his Inkmoth Nexus. I go for another Collected Company since I have Qasali Pridemage and Phyrexian Revoker as outs. I get 1 Llanowar Elves. I kill in 3 turns. He kills me on his turn 4. 1-2.
I get 2-2 after starting 2-0. It's been a tough 3 days for me. I lost in the finals of a PPTQ, borrowing a Standard deck on Saturday. I started Legacy 3-0 to finish 3-3 on Sunday and now I went 2-0 into 0-2. Also lost 13 of those 14 die rolls. Nothing really new for me, but a tad worse than my average.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)Hey, I know you =P (#TDK).
Also played elves at this same event. Also got owned (1-2 drop)...
Lol.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)I haven't done modern in awhile, nor elves.
What matchups do you side in Paths against?
I think you do side in 2 Path to Exile vs. Amulet. There's only 2, so there's not much chance of seeing them, but it at least keeps them "honest" with Prime Time. Also, Walking Ballista can decimate our board, while staying alive, so you may want to get rid of him before casting more Elves sometimes. I played those 4 rounds and sided in Path every time, except the Standard deck. So, it was Affinity, 4 Color Saheeli, and Infect.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)Sometime has past and I was wondering if anyone actual feels Damping Sphere is worth the slots?
I Kinda came to the conclusions that Damping Sphere as a card will hurt tron enough to hopefully see it less often. For now, it's still a match that I won't dedicate sideboard slots for.
Also, Been seeing Melira, Sylvok Outcast played in a few elf sideboards again. Is she worth it again? Kinda feel spellskite and some spot removal against infect is fine. I personally don't like dedicating sideboard slots for one specific match.

1 Eidolon of Rhetoric
1 Fracturing Gust
3 Path to Exile
The vizier combo does need some sort of payoff card, but I don't believe in having a triple green PLUS the Mana after that.
Gemstone mine is also very bad, no idea why it should be in the deck vs. a copy of nykthos or cavern of souls. Both cards are capitalizing off devotion or for a metagame call against blue, but blue is the worst color atm in modern. So nykthos or horizon canopy seems to be the better card.
