Would someone be so kind as to post a cutting edge, successful GB Elves list? Would love to see what's currently the best version of the deck. Thank you!
It's not the best, but I finished 4-0 last tournament. This is actually my deck.
If you have the cards, add 1/2 gilt-leaf palace, 1 canopy (for the draw), 2/3 cavern.
If you are greedy, add another abbey.
In the side you could add 3 thoughtseize, and replace the green leyline for the white one, it's better. But if you want golgari elves don't do this... but good luck vs storm haha
You could play with kataki instead of the sage and push, path or beast within instead of the dismember and the decay.

It seems like you run a lot of spells in this version of the list but don't have lead the stampede? Is this version of the deck different with it's goal in getting out creatures? Also I was wondering with your playing of the deck, do you feel like you brick more off of collected company since the deck runs more spells than other elf variants?

Wow, I come here after all this time for an update on my Golgari elf and lord oh lord what a godsend you are!
I have a few question about your build:
1) Why the Eldritch Evolution? I feel likeChord of calling or even Lead the stampede would probably be better. Then again, you get to trigger another Shaman of the pack or get a sideboard piece as it act as a mini chord. I'm just not sure if sacrificing creatures is what we want.
2)No Cavern of souls? (Is it a budget reason? if so would you run it if you had them?)
3)How did Abrupt Decay and Leyline of Vitality perform for you? I must admit I never thought of any of those for my deck and I am pretty curious as to how well they perform. I usually run Beast within for universal removal and Essence warden for lifegain.
Syreal, been watching your streams and really enjoying them. A question or two, first off it seems like you board out chord the same amount as legacy elves boards out NO, almost always. Why not just run 2/1 split with lead then? Also, besides painless mana base do you really believe g/b is better then the g/b with w sideboard cards? Thanks for your time and efforts always.

I do board Chord out a lot - but Chord imo is better main deck as in game 1, Chord gives you the fastest version of the deck so it gets the maindeck slots. Chord is our NO.
The mana base is a genuine concern when you're playing Abzan, as you still want 9 sources of white to reliably cast these bullets. What other white cards are you interested in? Rest in Peace is genuinely just not a good option for us as we can't really reliably draw it or cast it unless we play four. Path is only a slight upgrade over Dismember for the most part. Your burn matchup is significantly worse because you start at 17-18 instead of 20.
Our worst matchups are the decks faster then us - the extra points matter a lot.
I tried out Eldritch Evolution when it was spoiled but instead of going for a sideboard like yours, I focused on turning 2CMC cards like Dwynen's Elite & Elvish Visionary into 4CMC threats like Chameleon Colossus, Thrun and even Thought-Knot Seer. Could be worth trying out again as there aren't many counterspells being played, at least in my local meta.

Stream today went well, 13-2 overall (4-1/5-0/4-1). Replay should be loading up soon on twitch. Throne was useful when I drew it for the most part, but it would only net like 1 life or so until I had an opportunity to hit them so I think 1 might be the right number.
Also figured out on stream that I might have played 1550+ games with the GB variant of the list...that's a lot lol.
What is the general opinion on Nettle Sentinel? Is having slots dedicated for a one drop 2/2 with potential vigilance and a funny interaction with Heritage Druid worth it?? It's a bad draw if you're behind and doesn't benefit the entire team as much as a lord. It can be replaced with Boreal Drubehind.Elves of Deep Shadow for ramping because, let's be real, if an opponent slips or doesn't have an interaction turn 1 or 2, you ramp into a lord and they fall behind
Nettle Sentinel is a necessary evil of the deck in my opinion. It's actually kind of a nice body game one when we are on plan A of trying to beat the opponent down. And as you mention it is great for exploding on to the board with Heritage Druid which is exactly what we want to do when we are up against an unknown opponent. It will often be sided out once we streamline our plan for games 2 and 3, but don't mistake siding out a card often for a card that we should cut from the deck. Sentinel may be one of the weaker cards in the deck, but he serves a purpose when we are attacking in the dark.
Am I overvaluing self-less spirit and forgetenders abilities to much?
(I'm posting on my phone so theres gonna be two posts addressing some quotes)
Yes. They are almost always overvalued because they're tricky and "loud". They always leave an impression on you because they always have huge, game changing effects (but we conveniently forget the games that they do nothing).
Post board against most decks you want Selfless Spirit and BFT, you don't have Chord in the list anymore anyway! So you lose the element of surprise that makes these cards good (and it encourages bad habits; ie: Coco in resp to a wipe to hit Selfless)
All in all, I think they're definitely overvalued.

Hello!
Went to Syracuse NY for the open. Overall I felt good about the weekend. Didn't do well enough in the open to continue so I dropped for side events. However I wanted to share my win I did in the classic the following day. After entering the classic, I unfortunately loss round 1 to Grixis Prowess and round 2 to RG Tron. Both I didn't expect but I did take a get from both. 0-2, I match against Taking turns and nearly lost. Down about how the day has started, I was ready to drop for a side event. Instead I won the next 6 rounds, going 7-2. Manage to place 21st. (tied for 9th-21st in points) Final match was against Sun and Moon. He was a player I have played before in an IQ near me. I won't forget this match cause I won game 1 through a Chalice on 1 with no Caverns, Then he bloodmoon'd me and nearly locked me out till he did lock me out with an Anger. He didn't draw a win con yet since two draws later I drew a basic forest, played a elvish visionary and drew a second basic. Proceeded to turn the table and win. Game 2 he mul'd to 5 and I kept a resilient hand.

I strongly agree with this position. In a value game, you have to take out chords to win the attrition war and spirit forces you to leave them in. I think grindy games should be fought with grindy cards like lead, finks and in my case nissa. Green is pretty good at gaining advantages, so we need to fight with that angle.
I feel like if you're looking for an additional lord you should start with Elvish Champion or even Nissa, Voice of Zendikar. At least these cards will pump up creatures that are already on the battlefield.
But I have to say I have not personally tested the card.

I wrote about this earlier here .
Basically, people overlook the card because it works quietly, but the card is strongest in race scenarios and exceptional against Burn.
