He wins the dice roll. I make quick work of him game one with bolts and knights. game 2 he turn 3 Craterhoofs me. game 3 I have an early miracled bonfire.
round 2 (abzan) 2-1:
Game 1 he wins the roll but sticks a Lilly turn 3. He upticks. I slam a Smiter.
Game 2 he kills me with Lingering Souls and well timed Lilly draws.
Game 3 I stick an early tracker and draw into Companies.
round 3 (dredge) 2-1:
I stick a turn 2 Ooze game 1 and ride it to victory after he lets me untap.
Game 2 he does his thing as I fall behind.
Game 3 he gets really far ahead sticking 12 power into play on turn 3. However, I untap and Declaration in Stone his 3 Prized Amalgams. I had a healthy curve and beat him from there.
round 4 (jund scapeshift) 1-2:
She kills me turn 4 on the play. Game 2 I Aven Mindcensor her turn 4 Scapeshift. She dies to the board two turns later. Game 3, she disrupts my attacks with an early Baloth and eventually Scapeshifts after I whiff on Mindcensor off of two Companies.
Game 3 he cracks two O-Stones after natty tron but I plow through it with threats. He whiffs on his draw steps and I eventually see a Blood Moon.
round 8 (dredge) 2-0:
Not sure what happened here. He keeps hands without dredgers and whiffs. I just turn things sideways.
round 9 (jund DS) 2-0:
I think this MU is fine. He has a lot of discard but company pulls you back into it.
Game 2, he attacks with DS while at 7 and leaves back 4 souls tokens. I let the hit happen and go to 9. I have 4 mana up so I Company with two cards in hand (knight, dec), I put tracker/knight into play with a scooze in play as well, I untap and dec in stone his souls tokens and kill him.
It was a pretty rockstar moment for Dec in Stone, not going to lie.
__________________________________________________________________________________________ So we're 7-2 going into day 2. Alright lets do this.
round 10 (ur gifts storm) 1-2:
game 1. He wins the roll and kill me on turn 3.
game 2. He goes off turn 3 with 12 goblins. I stick enough lock pieces and he can't kill me with all my crappy blockers. I tutor up Kessig eventually and kill him. Think I might have been a turn late on kessig but it was marginal as he couldn't beat Eidolon.
game 3. He turn 3s me again. Bro gtfo.
round 11 (Jund DS) 0-2:
He has a ton of early discard and a t2 goyf. I have early Nacatls and my removal stripped. I whiff on my draw steps and he mows me down.
Game 2 had a ton of play. He strips my hand early but I don't draw my outs and end up with a Blessed Alliance that can't quite kill his DSs.
I think this MU is good if they draw their discard at inopportune times. For example, both games my opponent had 3 pieces of discard that he resolved early. However, if he had draw them after turn 4, I am 100% certain he would've lost game 2. He might have even whiffed on his late game topdeck Street Wraith to pump his DS and eat my Nacatls game 1. Who knows? I saw the hands after both games and he just didn't draw his blanks. Them's the beats though, I guess.
round 12 (bant counters company eli kassis) 0-2: this list is super sweet. He combos me early through disruption game 1 as he has the Queller for my path.
Game 2 he natties me on turn 4.
round 13 (affinity) 1-2:
Ok, I really should've played ancient grudge. He sticks t2 master both games he wins.
round 14 (ur storm) 2-1:
I have an aggressive draw and kill him.
Game 2 he kills me on turn 3 through a mindcensor because the top 4 when he gifts through a mindcensor is really really really good (manamorphose, rit, PIF, sleight of hand). I give him rit and sleight but that might have been wrong(?). He has plenty of mana in hand and I'm at 13.
Game 3 I stick an Eidolon. He's dead to it.
round 15 (counters company) 1-2: Ok lol. This is getting a bit sad tbh.
He goes off turn 3 game one.
Game 2 I stick an early bonfire against a land light mana dork heavy hand and I beat him down with Mindcensor as it blanks his later drawn fetches.
Game 3 he turn 4s me off a company.
8-7 after everything is said and done. Great day 1 with a lot of bad MUs. Very bad day 2, as should've been expected.
In sum, I made day 2 but this deck had a total of 3 fair MUs (5 if you count affinity) throughout the weekend. This deck is bad, I knew that going in, but you have nowhere enough disruption to lock people. I personally think G/W hatebears would be viable if you want to kill people with green creatures right now.
MD Aven Mindcensor was very good. It's bad in a fair room but he thrashed so many ppl.
I additionally think Tribal Flames is very good if you can dodge affinity. Just play Geist, mana dorks, goyfs, and idiots and Tribal Flames them to death.
Played my Naya Company list to a perfect 4-0 at a GPT a few weeks back, didn't lose a game! I drew in top 8 since I wasn't going to Vegas. Here's the list:
Matchups:
Round 1 Abzan: 2-0 Easy matchup.
Round 2 Storm: 2-0 I tap out early to put pressure on him and he can't capitalize, game 2 Thalia won the game easily.
Round 3 Bant Eldrazi: 2-0 He had a bad g1 hand and I won quickly. Game 2 I drew 3 pieces of removal which usually means GG.
Round 4 UW Control: I played super slow and grinded him out. Game 2 I boarded in Blessed Alliance for path so I can untap my guys when he taps/draws off of a Cryptic Command. It didn't win me the game that turn, but it helped me win the game.
Hey, dropping in to let you know a tip. Ive seen a few naya lists and red lists picking up Harsh Mentor. The card destroys the mel company matchup, and silver bullet against quite a few other things. Its worth looking at for your tool box. Its probably untested tech, and might pan out to nothing, but good to have on your radar for now.
(And yes, company could get around it by killing it via a silver bullet, but if they have the mana combo and they go looking for it, it shock em for every mana they make, plus if they use recruiter it deals 4-8 per search. Mentor deals damage on the untap ability and on the recruit search, not the mana making)
Guys please opinions on japanese cards. Lost a 3/3 creature against Japan celestial colonade. This guy played all creatures and spells in english cards, but some cards in his manabase was japanese. I dont registrated this really ( my brain say its all fine and all english to me lets attack his empty board)...and i am sure it is a Kind of legal cheating. It is not ok, but i know legal. I Hate such people. I never forget colonade normally, but with this Tricks it can happen one time in 3 years and such people take advantage of this
If I am a customer spending premium amount of dollars, I expect a premium service. Jund falls into the category of a premium deck costing more dollars than a majority of the rest of the format. I'm not getting the desired performance ratio per dollars spent out of the Jund deck because WOTC decided to make the format more diverse.
Well this is guy that has road Sarkhan vol and the nahiri package in zoo to many gpt wins lol, so I will test. But the minus 2 could have been a lot better
I'm not high on it. we can get double strike for 3 mana (Ajani, Caller of the Pride) and the -2 is pretty much terrible all the time. Its ulti is game winning, probably, like all of them... but so is every other walker
I'll pass on this. Domri is still better overall, as is arlinn and elspeth.
Going into a somewhat blind meta iq, but ive been to this place before for modern night and it is hardcore DS, control and midrange. ive heard dredge is also showing up. Also is Manlands still a zoo thing or should I add a fetch. I dont miss thalia but I dont know if they should be in there facing an unknown meta.I still wonder if dropping elspeth for a 4th smiter is good but Elspeth enables rhonas alot more
You're missing a card in your board. Also I would -2 finks/-1QP and add in 4th voice/Smiter/Ooze. The beauty of the deck comes from the consistency, sure you can splash a 1-2 of game breakers, but more than that and you're gonna drop off a lot of consistency, especially if you're not running CoCo.
Hello everyone, been playing zoo for some time with some success with this list its a list that lets you grind a little better and just makes your deck more interactive.
For anyone wondering why theres 2 seal of fire, well they have been performing really well for me.

It's very underwhelming to be frank. much worse than Arlinn Kord.
