Another wonderful 4-0 night with my list. Here is the summary:
Round 1: Ad Nauseam: 2-0: Not a new match-up for me, and I was able to play through whatever blockades he threw up. I didnt hit much push-back, even after SB. Won turn 3 on both games.
Round 2: RUW Kiki: 2-1: Interesting match-up. And probably the most grindy of the night. Lost my first game. For some reason I was not as aggressive as I should have been. I already took some bolts to my creatures, so I was playing around those and other red/blue/white packages. Game two saw my wild defiance win the game Game three was long, but I ended up getting through the damage necessary. PS. Game 2 I mulliganed to 5 cards. So Im getting better at judging when I need to mulligan or not. Key for this deck.
Round 3: Affinity: 2-0: Im relatively comfortable playing affinity. Even though it is super fast and can kill on turn 3/4 as well. In this case, it just didnt happen. I killed him one turn 3 game 1. And turn 4 on game 2. I brought in Corrupter and Decay.
Round 4: GR Tron: 2-0: He did resolve a Karn game 2, but I had 4 lands, 3 of them inkmoth, and a blighted agent on the field. So even if he took-out one infect source, he was a goner. Game 1 was super easy because all he resolved was lotuses.
Congrats on the 4-0! Anyway, you told us what you brought in for each match up but could you tell us what cards you took out? Sideboarding gets iffy with me sometimes and I like seeing what people board in and out of match ups. Thanks!

The worst part about sideboarding in cards in this deck is just that: What the hell do you sideboard out???
It becomes difficult. Some of you might find it crazy.
Wild defiance is almost always my first target to go. Unless Im playing burn or a deck with bolts/helix, defiance is a win-more that the deck doesnt really need. Especially when you're trying to kill turn 3, not cast defiance.
Next I go for a small amount of pump spells (2-3). I target groundsweel more over might of old krosa because groundswell is not consistently +4, whereas might can more easily give you 4 without landfall constraints.
When siding in creatures like skite or corrupter, I usually swap them with some infect creature I have. So if they have a strong ground presence, for example, Ill swap two elves for 2 skites. Or 1 elf and 1 stinger if they also have flyers. Its really dependant on what they are playing.
I usually swap 2 elves for 2 corrupters as well. You might think this is crazy, but when siding in corrupter or skite, you are slowing gameplay down anyway. I prefer a body over less pump.
Im still working on my SB strategies, though. So I could be extremely wrong with some of my assumptions.
LOL I have the same EXACT MonoGreen Infect list as AtticusBlacqk :)) It's not exactly a go-off but more of a grindy Infect list that can go the long game. And yes, it has good match-ups against BG/x decks.
I'VE been toying around the idea of a partially transformative SB in UG Infect by having 1 Temple Garden and 4 Geist of Saint Traft in the sideboard :)) He'll surely be evasive, protected and pumped and will totally blank all the removal they put in post board since he's unexpected Opinions?
BGx has become the deck to beat in my area along with an obnoxiously heavy R, RW, and RWB Burn presence at my LGS.
I don't know about the idea of getting away from Infect to play Geist Beatdown Do you have SB extra evasion for him?
Playing Geist of Saint Traft I thought could be viable since the core of your deck has pump spells and color-protection to keep him alive against blockers. Let the 4/4 Angel do the work hehe :))
Before I'm about to build UG Infect, I've had some occasions where I didn't want to have that Might of Old Krosa in hand but instead another pump spell. I understand its raw power, but can anyone enlighten me on how and when to use this card properly? Thank you!

Well, Monday was the first time playing the lsit with Birds. Before I had Become Immense in its slot. I removed BI because it just did not reolve as much as I needed it to when it was in my hand. And an immense in my oppening hand was almost always a dead card throughout the game (they reeally dont last that long). So Ill let you know how birds goes. I can only assume it will either draw removal, or give me extra mana to cast pumps spells and still have enough to cast protection spells.
Lianowar Augur seems a bit too risky for me. Im sure we have better pump options. He's too restrictive.
I dont run grave hate in my SB and my local meta does not seem to require it. I think thats more of a local call. If you dont see many decks abusing their graveyard, then don't both using it.
Wild Defiance should be a 3-of in your total list. I run 2 mainboard, and 1 sideboard.
I tried Corrupted Resolve way back in the standard infect days. Dispel or Spell Pierce were usually better. However I have been thinking that a couple of Corrupted Resolve may actually be quite good in the sideboard if you are expecting to run into Scapeshift.
I also tried Postmortem Lunge back in standard, and it did win some games out of nowhere, but most of the time I found that more creatures were better in that slot.
Deck looks solid to me well tuned for a broad meta. Not sure I love 3 become immense in the main but overalls the build looks good. Like that he has wild defiance in the side. Without delver that's where I feel they should be.
Love that UG Infect is 8-0 after day one! I personally play the UG build and it makes me happy to see my deck doing well. There's actually quite a few people on Infect at the Pro Tour. Sweet deal!
It's good and bad. Increased awareness doesn't help our game. I was planning to take this to a Gp next week. After this showing it may do me more bad than good. As that's 2 weeks everyone will have to prepare for this. Spellskites galore.

On its face, it looks good. But the two mana cost is what makes it a no go for me.

I recently got back into MTG and decided to make a modern deck.
I already have a bunch of infect cards so waa thinking of putting together the following deck
4x Birds of Paradise
4x Blighted Agent
4x Glistener Elf
4x Plague Stinger
Instant (16)
2x Apostle's Blessing
2x Become Immense
4x Groundswell
4x Might of Old Krosa
4x Vines of Vastwood
2x Distortion Strike
4x Gitaxian Probe
2x Sylvan Scrying
Land (20)
4x Breeding Pool
2x Cathedral of War
2x Forest
2x Hinterland Harbor
4x Inkmoth Nexus
4x Overgrown Tomb
2x Pendelhaven
I know no Noble Heirarch atm, but this will be changed once i have the money for it (birds take its place for now).
I was considering swapping out the 2x Hinterland Harbor and `1 each of Overgrown Tomb and Breeding Pool for fetches.
What would be a recommended SB for an unknown meta (i travel with work and will be playing in 3-4 stores)
Thanks for any help!
