Hello everyone !
It's my first post on this forum.
I was playing UB and GB infect few years ago now I am thinking to come back, I dont want to check last 80 pages of this thread so could any one give some SB guide against actual top decks and ours biggest threats?
Any love for Force of Vigor instead of Nature's Claim? Or is the downside of throwing away a pump spell greater than needing to pay mana? I feel like needing the threshold of pump spells makes it inferior, but not sure if anyone's tested.
Really interested in the GW lists, as well. Not sure if losing an unblockable threat is a great trade-off, but Giver seems sweet.
Giver makes things unblockable most of the time. It's especially good if you can make something unblockable and still have a protection spell up. That's the reason for 4 Blossoming Defense and 4 Vines of Vastwood. Another cool interaction that I've discovered is that Giver of Runes can protect an Inkmoth Nexus from cards like Ghost Quarter, since lands are colorless.
White also has a lot of the best sideboard cards as well, so that really opens up things in that department.
That only works if they wait to Ghost Quarter until after the animation ability has resolved, which is weak play, as that makes Inky able to be protected with BD or Vines.
In that case yeah it works, but it's just an on-board trick at that point. If the opponent is smart they wait until you've activated the ability, and then while it's on the stack they Ghost Quarter it to either force you to waste another mana to activate again or lose the land. I'm not saying Giver is bad, I'm saying you can't expect an opponent to take that line (GQ into onboard protection) unless they are blind.
I went 3-1 last night at a Wednesday Night Modern event with about 30 people. Lost round 1 to Esper Death's Shadow. Won against Burn, some weird enchantment combo deck, and a CoCo Devoted Druid deck. I did see a lot of graveyard decks, mainly Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis. I changed my sideboard since to add 2 Teferi, 2 Rav trap, and 2 Surgicals, taking out artifact hate and Grafdigger's Cage. It's been too long since I've updated the side. lol. This is what I'm playing now.
You could bring in the extra spellskite for more protection. The shaper’s sanctuaries are pretty much made for this match up and you could bring in the some number of kitchen finks as well. Probably side out might of old krosa and some scale ups.

Little angel, go away come again some other day the Devil has my ear today I'll never hear a word you say. He promised I would find a little solace and some peace of mind. Whatever. just as long as I don't feel so desperate and ravenous.
About mainboard:
I am not a big fan of playing all 4 scale up MB, cause this is still sorcery speed,
thats why I keeped 2x Become immense with 9 fetchlands.
Adding 1 temple garden, I exchanged dismember for path to exile, since there were
situations when I have 1-4 life and one creature to kill to win the game and dismember
in my hand.
About sideboard:
Still not shure what is better for GY hate. 2x grafdigger cage + 1x surgical or 2x rest in peace + surgical?
Since Infect is rising up, and I see plenty decks with hierarchs, spellskite and thing in the ice mainboard I keep 1x twisted image mainboard and another in SB In my meta there is a few eldrazi and affinity thats why 3x ceremonious rejection.
I appreciate all suggestions what I can change to make this deck better.
Been thinking about changing my G/U Infect list to potentially G/W. I've been hearing a lot feedback about Giver of Runes being an excellent way of protection, especially with protection from colorless with lands such as Ghost Quarter and Field of Ruin.
I'm also heavily considering adding 4 x Sigarda's Aid and 4 x Colossus Hammer when it comes out. Seems like a stretch, janky if it able to work, meaning that I'd have to take out some pump spells to make room with the new cards.
The idea of Infect going Bant for colors, personally opinion of course, seems too clunky when it comes to making to deck work. Infect is a fast and aggressive deck that needs 1 of the 2 usual colors to get there. At times, sometimes the lack of blue in the usual build has hurt. Adding a third color is option but that would change the traditional Infect build from aggro to midrange. Just my thoughts honestly.
Anyways! I'm glad to see Infect doing well and I would love to hear the spicy brews everyone is doing to keep doing Phyrexian Compleation!
The problem with bant is that we don't have enough lands to guarantee 14 W sources while also guaranteeing at least 13 U sources. The only way to achieve that goal is with this manabase:
Has anyone got/seen an up to date and comprehensive sideboard guide?
I know a lot of people are playing with varying lists, but want to see the general sideboard strategies - particularly what to cut in certain match ups.

Has anybody tried Veil of Summer yet? I want to give 1 or 2 a try but I’m not sure if I’m supposed to cut Spell Pierce or what.

I played two local tournaments this weekend with GW infect. First one I spilt 2-2 (won against dredge and humans; loss against affinity and humans). Second one I went 3-1 (win against humans twice and UW control ; loss against Elves.
I won when I could keep an early glistener on board, had Giver for protection, or had Inkmoth to fly over. I lost if I didn't have Giver or an Inkmoth.
I only mulled to five once otherwise to six if needed. I kept what I thought were good hands but lacking a Giver or an Inkmoth in the games I lost.
>> Is it therefore advisable to mull for a shot at Giver or Inkmoth in starting hand with GW Infect?
>> Should I replace Ichorclaw with Blighted and change up the lands to run bant?
>> I really like Giver in the deck or is she just not worth it?
