Could someone please give me a little insight on when you would board in Set Adrift? I don't really have any idea on what this card is best used against.

I don't play the card but if i did i would be bouncing things like leyline of sanctity, choke,a planeswalker giving you grief, a big creature that is a pain.
Basically anything that you can't deal with current removal or spells. I would not play it unless i could guarantee milling my opponent before their next draw step.

I know we've discussed Jace, Vryn's Prodigy a little but I am not sure how many of us are playing him. Is anyone actively using him? If so how's he performed and how many are you running? I'm debating on getting 2-4 since he's dipped so drastically in price. Any input from firsthand experience would be much appreciated.
I play singleton and I like him
He enables Manic Scribe
loots
makes use of excess mana
casts spells (Orb helps to have a choice)
slows down aggro opponent
I'm sure a bunch of us would like to see a tournament report when you have time RoKnRuiN1. I hope you had fun.
I ended up putting in the 4x flooded strands and 1x basic plains. The changes are good and a strand did help with a win, ty for the advice with that.
I played late last week and went 2/2.
First round was against lantern control. This was a inexperienced player to lantern, i never felt locked at all and i don't know if that was a result of his inexperience or me being able to play around him. 2/0 my first time playing against lantern but this looks like a ok match up.
Second round was against blue/white control. Almost had him but it wasnt to be. Ended up going 1/2. Definitely beatable, our third game we both got off to slow starts and it was a matter of who top decked what.
Third round against infect. 0/2 its a tough match up especially when you path two creatures and your opponent keeps topdecking more creatures. Tough matchup, ghostly prison will work but due to the nature of infect may not be fast enough. A combination of path to exile and ghostly prison i think is the best way to win.
Fourth round was against the master of cruelties deck again. 2/1 it can be a real pain playing this and im glad master isn't played a lot. Can be on 18 life and go to 1 in a second. Save paths at all costs to kill the master and let attacks through with things that have the ninja ability and path the master if they do that combo.
Not a bad night, went 2/2 again but not overly concerned about that. The control match up came down to topdecking. The only match i want to think about more is infect. It could prove a pain. I have a moslty built infect deck so i may do some practice matches.
Its a three cost just like mind funeral. Ok kind of creature but its cool in that it slows down my opponents game, also it combos with Mesmeric Orb well.
Dies to bolt, path and smother arguments i know lol
Something i may like to test when the new set drops.
As for the mind funeral spot in my deck a safe inclusion would be to push the crypt incursion to 3 in md. I have been trying different things in the flex spot so im open to suggestions if ppl have them.
If you are going for the aggro win I will say thing it is not a bad idea. If you are on pure mill, you do not have alot of valid combat creatures come turn 3.

Swords are extremely clunky in Modern. The last deck I remember seeing using them was Faeries I think? That was purely sideboard as well. We don't really play a creature prominent deck either so 7/10 times it will probably be irrelevant. If you really wanted to go for a quick win with an equipment, Runechanter's Pike is a bomb in that aspect. The first strike will likely deal with any blockers and it turns any creature we own into a power house.
Someone asked me about a Dallas report and I hate to say that I didn't keep any notes from that day. I did play Infect R1, Death Zoo R2, Mono U Taking Turns R3, Jeskai Nahiri (Peter Ingram) R4, Nahiri Chord R5, Scapeshift R6, and Infect R7. I lost to Jeskai, Nahiri Chord and Infect in R7. Happy to say that the deck did what I wanted it to against the two decks I was worried about most being Infect and Death's Zoo. Engineered Explosives, Path's and IoK's helped me out tremendously in those matches. Explosives I think won me both Death's Zoo games. I played one in each of our games and it just devastated my opponent. I really lost out hard to Emrakul that day. Against Ingram I saw one Crypt Incursion in only ONE of our games and it was so late in that game that it didn't matter. I sided in some ridiculous amount of hate and didn't see anything. Variance is a cruel mistress sometimes. When I lost to Nahiri Chord it was because of more or less the same thing. I didn't see enough hate to combat emrakul, while at the same time fighting his 2 or 3 other combos present in the deck. My inability to interact had me losing to just aggro beats, and the combos. It was a brutal round, I did win one of those games though. The last round against Infect again, he Drew 3 creatures in a row and I lost flat out, haha. My first IoK took his t1 elf then he played another next turn that ate a path, then drew two blighted agents in a row in game 2. Game 1 he killed me t4, I didn't keep an opener with Path and didn't draw into it.
All in all I think I weakened myself against Emrakul and I paid for it. I did really well against the aggro decks like I was expecting and I think I might have been a bit too specific. It was a fun day though. Lots of people were complimenting the deck and were very interested in it.

My go to hate for emrakul atm is hide//seek. Turn 2 search him out seems pretty powerful.i have not been seeing any emrakul in my meta atm. Very weird.
The reason im looking at the sword of body and mind is that it seems to work well as a compliment card. I have access to 20 creatures in my deck with lingering souls so i feel as though i should have a target for it. Even if i flashback a souls and equip it to that.
My deck is definitely a mill/dmg deck where i feel the mill is still super strong. My idea being if i see a flyer of mine i can put the sword on them and swing, mill a extra ten get a wolf blocker and do a little extra damage. The main reason i like it is i get to mill ten if i do damage, not specifically the +2+2 it gives or the wolf token.
I played 3 tournaments last week and i drew a lot of rounds. All but one of the tournaments were 4 round and about 30% of my rounds were draws. I need/want to convert them to wins. Those draws went to time and turns and by turn 5 i was in a very good position and would of won if given more time.
Looking for that extra edge atm. Thinking of replacing the 2x jace vryn's prodigy with 2x Snapcaster Mages since i was seeing jace vp die to removal before he could flip. Snapcaster seems like he will do some work instead of just dying.
The sword of mind and body x2 im thinking of running looks like it could be a good card late game. I need to think about what to include to fit two of them though. I was thinking of dropping a ghoslty prison so that i run 2 md but i need to think about it.
Good sideboard card, especially for the +15 life. Still, you MUST have Nihil Spellbomb x2 maindeck, you can't afford to have game 1 lost by default, or you will go nowhere.

I have 2 Crypt Incursion, 3 Bridge main, 3 Nihil Spellbomb, 1 Crypt Incursion, 3 Surgical Extraction side. Seems ok provided their deck mostly does nothing except for invoking Emrakul.
I dont like Spellbombs main because they deactivate Visions of Beyond
And Emrakul main is not supposed to be a good matchup after all.

I have 2x crypt incursion in md so i do have a out to it md. Emrakul has not being seeing a lot of play in my local meta. No reason to devote anything more md against something i dont see.
In sb i have 4x relic f prog 2x hide//seek to deal with a emrakul scenario. I feel that is enough. Blood moon is a much bigger problem for some reason in my meta. So much i think im going to have to push to 3x disenchant in my sb. Blood moon doesn't get run md too often and i feel like i can take that chance game 1. If i think they have a moon i may have to adjust my fetches a bit to make sure i dont get locked out.
Im thinking of dropping the 2x manic scribes for 2x extirpate md. Brings my access down to 18 creatures if i count lingering souls twice. Im thinking the extirpate may work better at disruption then having a bit extra mill with the scribe.
How is hide / seek doing? I have a Harbinger. player in my meta and was thinking about running it because the matchup is almost impossible for me. I picked up 2 copies and still need to test. Is it doing any good for anyone else?
Like any Emrakul tech, it seems like a "find it and win, don't find and lose" answer. RiP can hit turn two and remain relevant the entire game, and blanking half of souls is nice, but gives a target for bounce/removal. Nihil spellbomb draws a card but is a "use and done" type effect, if they happen to have another graveyard interaction you might be SoL. The life gain off of hide/seek is also relevant against mill's harder matchups, IE aggro. TL,DR: it's a meta/play style choice.

you don't have to target your opponent with spellbomb. It can easily be played with visions. It's the best overall value caed that does what it does.

Has anyone tested it ?
I think it will be very slow, maybe a SB option agains pure control if you are getting lots of counters on your mills.
