Thanks for the insight. I'm trying RiP from now on
Crazy thought here, would it be worth to side Manamorphose against Blood Moon decks? It can be casted both before or after it lands and it basically gives us the mana we need and helps us finding the card we need.
Is there a comprehensive sideboarding guide for Bogles? Not so much what sideboard cards to bring in, but which pieces of the "Hexproof Engine" that we can take out, without destroying its potency?
Soooo, a new art for Daybreak Coronet is out in MM2. Still like the old art better. Hope this reprinting will help increase the number of Bogles' players.

They're both very different and I think both are cool. I don't like the old future sight mana symbol and border.

To each his own. lol. I wonder what other auras would be included to make this card playable in draft. Haha

Honestly I came right to this thread after seeing the art because I love it so much and want to try and put together the rest of the deck so I can pick them up when MM2 drops. Brimaz is a personal favorite character of mine.
Try it. Honestly, Tarmogoyf is the only way that Junk Midrange beats us. Sure, there are many games where Tarmogoyf is just a dude, but when they draw a lot of Abrupt Decays, Golgari Charms, and timely discard, they can slow us down enough for our Bogle to be somewhat small. Also, Auras in the graveyard help to make him even bigger than normal. I feel like I can give up 2 SB slots in order to completely neuter 4 cards in a Junk deck that are really the only way they are beating us. (At least this has been my experience, only losing to Goyf, who is occasionally accompanied by other weaker creatures.)
I don't even care much about playing it against Lingering Souls and Tasigur. I would play it even if it did nothing to these cards. Besides, you haven't lived until your opponent has destroyed everything you have played, but you land a Rest in Peace to their 2 Goyfs and you just laugh at the tiny creatures.
Admittedly, I almost never drew Rest in Peace vs. Junk or any GBx deck for most of my time playing this deck. Only in the past 3 months playing the deck have I started to draw it occasionally. The same goes for Leyline of Sanctity, so I have a different perspective than many others. But I will say that Junk Midrange is the deck that I've played against the most in tournament play. I don't even play test against it because I get plenty of that in tournaments.

Welcome to the world of mulligan and funny faces of opponents. We welcome you to the world of Bogles.
Is there a comprehensive sideboarding guide for Bogles? Not so much what sideboard cards to bring in, but which pieces of the "Hexproof Engine" that we can take out, without destroying its potency?
the primer on page 1 does mention flex spots, which is dependent on your list, but is still relevant. The core of the deck, that really shouldn't be changed, regardless of sideboarding and list is most likely going to always be the following:
4 Slippery Bogle
4 Gladecover Scout
4 Rancor
4 Ethereal Armor
4 Daybreak Coronet
4 Spirit Mantle (this is from the primer, I've seen lists shave a few of these, so this last part would debatable)
The umbra's are dependent on what deck you are facing. Heavy control decks mean keep the umbra's. Combo decks don't care as much, midrange aggro decks, you can shave a few. I hope that gives you an idea.

Yeah, the 4 copies of Spirit Mantle is VERY old thinking for this deck. I've seen 2 copies at most lately. As far as the Umbras, you're correct definitely match up dependent, for Sure.
Here is another question for the boglers... Is it worth bringing in my Kor Firewalkers (2 copies) in for Spirit Damcers against the Grixis Delver deck that has been popping up? There removal (mostly) seems red based... And a lot of their sideboard seems stocked with red spells as well. Thanks!
It's an interesting idea. I don't run Kor Firewalkers in my list (I run spirit link for red decks). I guess it depends on if there is a concern regarding engineered explosives. At my local meta, the UR Delver decks usually side EE in against me, and I can see Grixis doing the same.

If you have Kor Firewalkers in the sideboard, you should bring them in against Grixis Delver. Be aware that most run 1-2 Murderous Cut though, so try to avoid going all-in on one unless you have an Umbra. They're still worse than the hexproof creatures, but probably better than Spiritdancer.
Would anyone be willing to work with me to get the first post "primer" updated? It is severely out dated... And (almost) irrelevant now... Especially on sideboard and the finer details of the deck/match ups.

I'm interested in updating the primer but don't we need to contact the original thread starter to edit it?

I believe so. I was kinda thinking if we put something together, we could just ship it to the OP and it would be an easy update. And we could post it in the comments until the main page got updated.

Hilariously, none at all!
Glad I can finally build this deck though.
Yeah, I was scratching my head when I saw the whole list of spoilers. lol. you can use it once you've attached splinter twin to your creature. lol.

After a long break from Modern (well all of constructed actually) I'm back. I'll be updating the primer in the next week but I could use some help! I need updated decklists and any match up info you guys want to share.
I played poor-man's Bogle at this past FNM and took first It felt good to load up a Bogle with Auras and swing my way to victory! I look forward to getting back into it

It is the highest Bogles finish at a large scale event as of late. The 2 spellskite main are a notable card choice, helping against both twin and infect.
