Rounds were:
Grixis Death's Shadow L (0-2)
Blood Moon Stompy W (2-0)
UW Quest for the Holy Relic W (2-0)
4C Pyro Loam W (2-0)
I also played some pre and post SB practice games vs a friend on UWr Control. It felt like a tolerable matchup even with Jace in the picture.
Sideboard was a put together at the last minute and needs tuning - I really wanted to Cascade into Molten Rain but would like to make room for a 2nd Fiery Justice.
Curious what people think about playing basic Mountain, especially with more Red spells now?

Do you like Green midrange decks? Check out my My Magic Blog!
In legacy I played one due to back to basics and price of progress. In modern there is only path and blood moon (and pain) so I still think theres really no reason to run it. I did in really red decks like blitz

Field of Ruin decks tend to be UW (sometimes BG, or UB, or greedier 3 color decks). It's not that big of deal if they cut you off of red. The cards that kill them are GW.
Tarmogoyf and Knight do a lot of the heavy lifting.
If you really need that Bloodbraid to be cast, I'm sure you can wait to draw a fetchland.
That's why Big Zoo has been my preferred version of Zoo. It just doesn't fold to disruption like that. I've had people side in all sorts of different nonsense - Relic, RiP, Anger of the Gods - but then fold because I drew the half of my deck that doesn't care about that specific piece of hate. You drew two relics? Well good thing I have all these Wild Nacatls.
I've had all sorts of wild variance at the locals. Sometimes I crush, others I get cheesed.
I haven't had the opportunity to play against much midrange. People seem not to be particularly interested in slogging that fight out.
Playing against Tron, Burn, Boggles, Storm, Mill, Scapeshift, Ensnaring Bridge decks, and sometimes CoCo decks (the closest thing to midrange here) means that I'm flipping the coin most rounds.
I'm in a league right now and my first three matches were against boggles, burn, and merfolk.
Got me thinking about dromoka's command. It would have been better than lightning Helix or path each time I drew them (Blowing out boggles in combat, countering a spike and pumping a nacatl, and killing a master of waves and edicting a spreading seas)
I've seen a couple floating around in lists - is this card the real deal? It's not as efficient as path but it's flexibility makes it a better Cascade

It's ok.
Not as good against Boggles as you might think.
Fine against burn.
It's actually at it's best vs. Aether Vial decks like Merfolk and Humans.
I've been doing really well with my list against a wide variety of decks, except for Burn. I forgot how painful our manabase is. Two Kitchen Finks and Two Scavenging Ooze alongside three Lightning Helix does not feel sufficient.
How are your experiences, How do you beat burn? Is the matchup worth more slots in our sideboard?
Hey! I've been lurking for a while on the zoo subforum, I am new to the deck and the unban of bbe made me wanna jump into it. I think I will start with the list that Lantern posted a few days ago. I will invest in a playset of Tarmogoyf but it's going to take some time . I know there is no real replacement for it but as temporary one I was thinking at Thalia, Guardian of Thraben.

What do you think?
Just use Flinthoof boar. 3/3 for 2 or 3/3 haste for 3 is good vs Jace and lot.
I'd recommend strangleroot geist, qasali pridemage, or Thalia as replacements.
Each of those cards will be better than goyf in different matchups, which means you're trading consistency for utility instead of just playing weak cards
Anyone who is playing the Tribal Flames list with Kird Ape, Nacatl and all the burn?
I have not.
However, for the past week, every time I'm meandering around on twitch I see someone going 0-3 drop with that list.
This is largely what prompted my list. I tried it out and cascading into a kird ape sucks. Kept the nacatls in because they're the best of the one drops but the deck might be asking for a few more two/three drops in their place. Cascading into a nacatl kinda sucks too.
I would only play copter with rallier so you can return it if need be. The best sequence I've had is turn 1 hierarch - turn 2 copter and nacatl - turn 3 crew with nacatl attack discard 2 drop, fetch into rallier and bring back the discarded card.

My current Domain Knightfall Zoo list. I really think aggression backed by reach and the threat of Knightfall combo is the way to go in this meta.
